The NCIS Universe has its new Gibbs.
A new NCIS spin-off debuts this fall that will tell stories from the earlier days of Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
The downside for some fans is that Mark Harmon won’t star in the show, even though he does have extensive involvement.
While Mark won’t appear on screen, he will narrate and executive produce NCIS: Origins.
Mark’s son Sean is also involved in the project. Sean played Gibbs during several flashback episodes of NCIS.
Now we know who will play the (new) younger version of Gibbs.
NCIS: Origins adds Austin Stowell as Gibbs
It has been confirmed that actor Austin Stowell will star as Gibbs on NCIS: Origins.
The news comes from CBS Studios and ends months of speculation from fans.
As a reminder, NCIS: Origins begins in 1991 when Gibbs and Mike Franks work at a Camp Pendleton office.

It was reported earlier this year that CBS had given a straight-to-series order to NCIS: Origins, a prequel series about young Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Well, the role of the iconic character has now been filled as it was announced today that Austin Stowell will be playing the character in the new series.
NCIS: Origins will be narrated by Mark Harmon, who played Gibbs on NCIS for nearly twenty years, and takes place in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS. The description reads: “In the series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks.”
Austin Stowell is known for movies such as Dolphin Tale, Whiplash, Bridge of Spies, Colossal, Battle of the Sexes, Fantasy Island, and more, as well as TV shows such as The Secret Life of the American Teenager...

It takes some time to fall in love with 18-year-old Elliott in “My Old Ass.” As played by Maisy Stella, she’s young and self-involved, so focused on heading off to college in the big city that she’s kind of a jerk to everyone around her (especially her small-town cranberry-farming family). Maybe young adult audiences won’t think so. Canadian actor-turned-auteur Megan Park’s sweetly insightful coming-of-age comedy is intended for them — whereas adults might not have so much patience for the way Stella’s impulsive character takes for granted what are arguably her best years.
Don’t worry, the movie is great, and Elliott eventually grows on you. Besides, her initially off-putting persona is kind of the point of Park’s older-and-wiser second feature, which follows the director’s terrific SXSW-winning debut “The Fallout.” Park plays a magic trick early in the film: Elliott and her besties (Maddie Ziegler...

"The Dukes of Hazzard" was one of the biggest shows in the '70s, but where are the actors now? Did they all live to see old age? Sadly many of the show's main stars have since passed on, but their memory lives on in the timeless television series. The series centered around Bo and Luke Duke, played by John Schneider and Tom Wopat. They delivered vigilante justice for their county, protecting it from the corrupt political power-player, Boss Hogg. They are saddled with trying to save the Duke family farm from Hogg's grasp, which forces them to devise get-rich-quick schemes and lands them in various hijinks.
Many of the supporting actors were already middle-aged when the series aired, so sadly, Denver Pyle who played Jesse Duke, James Best who played Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, Sorrell Booke who played Boss Hog, and Waylon Jennings who played The Balladeer have all since passed.

The perils and plights of adolescence have long been a source of fascination for television audiences. That’s particularly apparent nowadays with Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Showtime, FX, and others vying for zeitgeist dominance with teen-focused dramas playing to a variety of creative strengths. It’s almost impossible to escape once you get involved with the mob, and if I were Emile Hirsch‘s Bobby Belluci, I’d start learning how to swim with the fishes. Vertical Entertainment proudly presents an Inside Man trailer depicting a bloody tale of deception, dangerous liaisons, and a disturbing body count. Based on actual events, Inside Man tells the story of Bobby Belluci, a disgraced police detective seeking redemption by going undercover to expose a violent crime syndicate. However, as Bobby sinks deeper into the mob, the price for absolution may be higher than he can afford.

Rising to fame as an actor, most known for her role in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” Megan Park recently made her feature film debut with the coming-of-age drama “The Fallout.” Both written and directed by Park, the film premiered at the 2021 South by Southwest Film Festival and was released on HBO Max on January 27 of this year. But getting to the finish line was not without hesitation for the writer/director, who was unsure whether she, born and raised in Canada, was the right person to tackle the film’s intended subject matter — namely, the ongoing gun violence epidemic in the United States.

When DeVaughn Nixon and Norm Nixon Jr. both showed up in the casting offices of HBO’s “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” on the same day — at the same time — it could have been awkward. And at first, it was.
“They both lovingly shit talked each other,” says exec producer Max Borenstein. “They were competitive, because they’re brothers, but it was a kind of a ‘may the best man win.’”
The Nixon brothers were there to audition for the role of their father, early 1980s Los Angeles Lakers point guard Norm Nixon. Both are established actors, so perhaps it was only natural that they’d be the frontrunners for the gig. It’s an important role early in the series, as new owner Jerry Buss (John C. Reilly) recruits rookie Magic Johnson (Quincy Isaiah) to inject some life into the stagnant team. But Johnson was a...

Shailene Woodley is not like the rest of us. As Hollywood's ultimate A-list outsider, the Big Little Lies star has never passed up an opportunity during the span of her decade-plus career to remind us that, though she's an actor, she doesn't buy into the trappings of celebrity or even the traditional material world. Shailene, who rose to fame on the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager, has become something of the poster child for the star who wants to be anything but. After all, this is the woman who once told Paper magazine in 2011, "I'm fine with saying the normal 'F' and 'C' words, but 'famous' and 'celebrity' are off-limits in my book,...

Shailene Woodley, star of “Big Little Lies,” The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “The Spectacular Now,” has joined Showtime’s upcoming hourlong series “Three Women” as a lead. The drama is a book-to-television adaptation of the nonfiction bestseller of the same name by Lisa Taddeo, who also executive produces the series.
The Pushcart Prize two-time winner and recipient of the Florence Engel Randall Award in fiction (2017) made her nonfiction debut this past summer with “Three Women,” published by Simon & Schuster. It tells the true multigenerational story of three American women— in their 20s, 30 and 40s —who suffered backlash for their sexual desires as well as their public and private pursuits of sexual independence and justice. The novel, which took Taddeo over a decade to research, report and write, remains in the Top 5 of the New York Times bestseller list for nonfiction books. The show is set to begin production in the fall.
