With the release of Star Trek Beyond, I thought it would be fun to rank all 13 Star Trek movies from worst to best. Besides loving Star Trek II and hating Star Trek V, there's little agreement on how to rank the films. Surprisingly, day to day I barely agreed with myself on how to rank the films. Understand this is my purely subjective, nostalgia fused, objectivity-free ranking of the films.

This year has been a pretty disappointing year at the movies thus far. A lot of movies which a lot of people were looking forward to disappointed critics and audiences. Unfortunately this has led to very angry fan boy backlash. Comment sections have become war zones where reason is checked at login. Note...I'm not saying this is true of all fan boys, but if you're once of the obnoxious people attacking people in comment sections..

Please don't kill, but I'm not crazy about the Rogue One trailers. They show pictures of a bunch of Star Wars imagery I'm interested in, but they're not doing anything above or beyond to interest me. I'm a Star Wars fan. Of course, I'm going to go see it. But I still want them to try to WOW me.

Jean-Claude Van Johnson is a new pilot for Amazon Prime. The show stars Jean-Claude Van Damme as a fictionalized version of himself. In this rendition, Van Damme lives a double life: movie star by day, black ops agent by night. The show is a action comedy which both celebrates and mocks mercilessly Van Damme, his films, and Hollywood. I'm not sure if it's good or not, but it's certainly interesting and sure hope we get to see more of it.

Back in 1989 Weird Al was the king of parodies (so not much has changed in that regard), and a studio decided to take a chance on him and let him make a movie. The result is UHF, a movie jam packed with jokes and 80's spoofs. The movie didn't necessarily light up the box-office, but it immediately found it's audience on home video. I've probably seen the film 40 times, but does it hold up? What do I think about it now that I'm in my 30s?

After nearly 25 years of waiting, we finally have a sequel to Hard Target. It does not star Jean Claude Van Damme. John Woo did not direct the movie. The only similarity to the original is the basic plot idea of people hunting other people. I've never thought to myself, "I wish that Hard Target was 15 minutes longer with a little bit less plot," but if you ever had those thoughts, this movie is the solution you're looking for. For the rest of mankind, it's not a good movie.
