Compassionate dishonesty
dtucker8626 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Dixon's Raiders? It sounds like a Civil War unit doesn't it? In this episode the students are really miffed about some of their favorite after school programs being the victim of budget cuts so Pete assigns them to monitor the various departments and report on how they spend their money. Needless to say this doesn't set well with some of the more "conservative" members of the faculty (especially our favorite "stuffed shirt" Mister Dragon) who don't want the lunatics running the asylum. Larry looks into the cafeteria finances and finds discrepancies that lead back to the beloved cafeteria head Mrs. Beemer who is "cooking the books" but for a compassionate reason to feed the kids in a poorer district. Mister Kaufman comes up with a compassionate solution but chides her for not enough garlic in the meat loaf!

Student Investigators

When student activities are cut, Mr Dixon gives the OK to students checking into the budgets of school departments.

An interesting episode. Jason and Pam look into school supplies. Mr Dragen is against the plan until he sees the report. Larry looks into the cafeteria and finds some discrepancies from dietician Mrs Beemer. She is played by Maidie Norman, who was the maid in "What Ever Happened To Baby Jane".
