This episode deals with Mister Kaufman's aching back (maybe its from the heavy load he always has to carry) and a surprise party dear sweet Alice wants to throw for him marking his fifteen years as principal. There is a lot of light hearted "skull duggery" as she and the others struggle to keep it a secret from him rushing around like mad. However, leave it to Wayne a real jock jerk who played hookey and lied to Alice (what an unforgiveable sin) because he wasn't ready to take a test and gets thrown off the track team by Kaufman (it is one of the few times Kaufman has ever really gotten mad at a student). Wayne tells Kaufman about the "suprise" party spoiling it all. By the way, Brendan Burns who plays Wayne was later Sergeant Fox on The Judge.

Miss Johnson plans a surprise party for Mr Kaufman's 15 year anniversary at Walt Whitman.
A good comedic episode and one of the best of Season 4. Mr Dragen mentions that Kaufman is a widower, I believe the first time that was mentioned in the show. One student, Wayne is angry with Kaufman and spoils the surprise. One of the funniest moments is when Jason tries distract Kaufman with a story about his hard working mother.
