Dodger Day

Tommy is convinced that the security guard at security screening is gay. He just pays no attention to Tommy each morning despite Tommy's attempts to strike up a conversation.

Instead of thinking that Tommy might not be his type. Tommy thinks that the his security pass photo is at fault.

However getting a new photo is far from easy. Tommy and Mikaela need to resort to desperate measures. Get the mayor to give the ID photographer a long service award.

Meanwhile the Mayor wants to let people know that he still has it. He has been invited to throw the opening pitch at the baseball game.

Everyone else thinks that the Mayor is too old and will mess up. That seems likely as the Mayor suddenly gets a bad back.

I think this is as good as Mr Mayor gets. Slightly above average. The best laughs were at the end when the credits roll.

Please - No More Jiggly Cam
rayboblove8 February 2021
Best written comedy on television today. And all I watch is comedy, so, best written on TV. The jokes -- and they hit, smack dab in the center -- come at you with a velocity that heretofore has not been seen. It's like scripted vaudevillian. You have to watch the show a couple of times to catch all the lines.

And as far as the reviewer who thought the episode had cruelty in one of the plot line, I live in a crushing anxiety that I might not have been totally nice to everyone every day, and I did not see any cruelty here. At all. Not even comedy cruelty. Just none.

But here's the problem with the series -- the filming technique. What is it with this jiggly cam? You will run your viewers away if you keep that up. We got enough going on out here to keep us feeling jiggly. We come to you for a place to run away from all that and for 27 minutes pretend it doesn't exist, never has, and never will.

I know the jiggly cam is used to keep the viewer in a somewhat agitated state of mind, but really -- give it up. You don't do it in the titles. They look great.

Fix it.

But here's something else -- like the comedy writing that's wonderful and the acting/delivery that couldn't be better and the novel assortment of characters -- that doesn't need to be fixed because it's perfect. And that's Jeff Richmond's music. Just like on 30 Rock, it brings it. This is an amazing musician.

Just Mean

Nah, I'm done. Can't stand it. What Bremer did to Jayden is cruel, not funny. The two running around worrying about their love lives are completely shallow and immature.

Impeach this show and have a special election replacement

Warning: Spoilers
I have no idea what Ted Danson was thinking to even consider this part much less taking it. While for his age he is not a bad looking man, to portray him as father of a teenager is just absurd he looks more like a granddad or great grandfather of this kid. To compound this we have Holly Hunter who looks like and acts like a whiny teenage boy in need of a hair cut not a woman of her age. While her voice lends itself well as Helen Parr / Elastigirl in the Incredibles movies here it is just fingernails on a chalkboard! The whole show casting is bad and none would even pass for staff in any mayor's office not even in a one traffic light town that is a mental institution!
