A brief moment in time
AbhiMathews20 April 2014
Everyone knows it: life's short, make the most of it. We hear these words every day yet go about as drones into the world. We know life is short--that we could die at any moment--yet we never cease the day. We have bucket lists, dreams and goals we hope to one day achieve. We have friends, family and significant others who we hope to always cherish. There's so much to do yet such little time.

This will be just another review about another movie. Like others in the past and ones that will follow, you'll hear this movie was very touching. It shares a concise yet sweet view of how quickly life vanishes from our grips and how we struggle to move forward. People live on the past; they feed on it. When we lose something that's so central to our life like a loved one, it's hard not to dwell on the past. Finite, in its correspondingly short time period, gracefully recounts a man tormented by loss trying to move on. But it's hard. Real hard. We, along with John, come to the realization we have to put the past behind us. To go on since life doesn't wait. It hurts even more to live in the past and to know what we once had is no more.

Finite beautifully depicts how a man, who encounters a major conflict that we will all one day experience, struggles. We have two choices: we can either continue with our lives or remain dormant. The world wasn't meant for us to live in pain; it's here because we can do infinitely more than we can imagine.
