Movie with lots of heart warming songs but with a average storyline and left the acting remains fantabulous. This movie could be better if the story writer and director puts vision into the story line because the movie length is 1hr 59mins including credits in which 8 songs taking place inside the movie songs are upto the mark but story should also be considered with some extra twists nd turns so that it might become interesting.......honestly saying this seems to be the movie less music album more......Rating 6/10 5 stars for songs nd 1 star for Ammy Tanya that little bit chemistry thts all👍

After long time, watched a movie with soulful music with good acting and social content... The only thing which can go towards the negatives is Limited Screen presence of Ammy Virk... But the Real Hero of the movie is it's Star Ladies and Music.

Decent job with acting by All.

Music 10⭐ Cast 8⭐(special applause for Taina movie by movie she is definitely evolving. Remember so many movies where she bearly watchable but in this great work but still sometime her voice feel childish or made up if we campare with leading actresses.) Story 5⭐ music was really good after a long time i heard pure generic treat with traditional flavours. Acting wise all done great as I don't have much expectations from many but guggu Gill and other legends done justice with role one person disappointed was ammy as well as story and character development was too poor great concept poor execution.

Still I feel movie was good not bad at all. One two time watchable because of music but many rate less than 5 was too bad. Movie deserve better specially music and feel.

*) K Reviews *) ( ( Even though everything seems predictable still this looks authentic. From the era they choose for the whole movie is displayed with utmost authenticity. The polite way of speaking with each other, your words value more than your life, it's a weakness in society to live on your daughter's earnings. All these issues are displayed and shown gracefully. Although the climax was a bit cliché and could be done more. Even though the actors are great but they could have given more screen-on-time to some of the veteran actors in the movie, so that it could have impacted more. No forceful CGI is highly appreciated. And this is a light hearted, with melodious music, one time watch movie.

This movie is really good. Taniyas expressions are fantastic.

I feel she should do more powerful confident roles or actually lead roles. She is not used at the full potential.

Ammy Virk did good acting as usual but his role is very limited.

This movie is not for small minded people.

A period drama that is topped with an exemplary production details and a befitting cinematography. A story that pulls on your heartstrings. Convincing performances but somewhat cursory story-development. However, its music simply outshines and steals the show. It makes up for the rest. The folk songs recreate the era, define the characters and make the audience reminisce and relish the rich musical traditions of Punjab. The story is kind of a reminder of the Kaur sisters (Surinder and Prakash), the famous folk singers of Punjab during the post-independence era. Magical, soulful music is The essence of the movie and it makes the movie-watching an unforgettable experience. Fantastic job by Noor Chahal, Jyotica Tangri, Sanj V, Jaidev Kumar and the rest of the team for delivering such a melodious music. An excellent watch.

This is definitely an honest story, well made even & with several good songs. The performances too are commendable. Two sisters good at singing infact excellent in singing are trapped in a household who are opposed to them singing, for the sake of the honour of the family which again is dictated by the patriarchal male figure. Sure, the story is set in that era & the first half perfectly captures it. The sisters are allowed to sing anonymously but their popularity will lead to their names & photos being revealed which in turn pushes them further into the cage.

It is the second half which needed better writing atleast in the final act. It is here they resort to resolving the conflict easily by having a sub-plot involving a bed ridden child who exists solely to direct the plot to it's end. The plight of the sisters, especially Roop after her marriage simply was too much to be overcome by a miracle. Anyways, the performances are good enough followed by the soothing songs to make it at best a decent one time watch. I wish the second half had atleast tried matching the first half and it could have been a far better film, which it deserved to be.

Not a love story movie. Two girls struggling to sing. Movie has many songs since it is a music movie but all the songs are really sweet, soft, and well sung.all are period songs. Story line is really engaging and keeps audiance intact till the end. Loved the casting. Specially roop's Father's acting. Very well performed and directed. Ammy virk does not have much role but that was the requirement of the movie which is acceptable.

The film is good. The pace of the film is perfect. The music was legendary and really epic. If you are not into old fashioned film than try to avoid this one. I felt that ending could be a little bit better and be a little bit more bold. Overall a good film delivered by ammy Virk.

What a musical miracle movie.after very long time movie with so sweet music.acting was very GOOD of all actors.

Cinematography is too good. But editing is not good. Story needs some more twists.

The Jass Grewal cinema has its own charm, however, this movie fails to live up to it. The most negative part is the casting - only Guggu Gill and supporting characters do justice to their roles. Tania seems okayish. Ammy Virk does legit no acting in terms of emotions. Every dialogue of his is without any facial expressions and it's very dull and unnerving. I had loved Daana Paani written by Jass Grewal and directed by Tarnvir Singh Jagpal. Maybe as a director Jass Grewal isn't as good as the writer. Even for the story, it's nothing in comparison to Daana Paani or Rab da Radio. Had better expectations really. In general the film could have been improved simply by casting professional actors instead of singer-turned-actors. The only saving grace are the few Jaidev Kumar compositions.

The movie is a masterpiece which is filled with great music and acting. Gaggu Gill, Ammy Virk and Tania did a great job in representing the Punjabi culture. The movie has a great message behind it and i would recommend everyone to watch it.

Good music, horrible acting and an ultra weak script. A dead girl's waking up through music, they called the husband the owner of his wife, I was appalled by how in general how backward it was. Such a flat, predictable story. I don't know who are these people giving this 10/10. First saunkan saunkane, sher bagga, now this - Ammy Virk has been really letting himself down these days. Man needs to work on his acting skills and need to come up with some modern and more relatable storylines. I probably like Noor Chahal the best, she was natural and overall likeable. A lot of the music is hers and her voice is angelic! However, if you can avoid this movie at all costs!

The way everything unfolds showcasing the harsh truths of society of backward thinking is superb.

Still in today's time,girls are dominated by their counterpart,this very point is presented very rightly and beautifully.

And How the self respect turns out be above life of ur own daughter in the times being.

The film touched my heart .

The way a girl is ignored due to her heart issues and is left to die by the family members having ruthless hearts except her mother, just because she is a girl.

The scene of how life is brought back from death left me speechless and eyes tearful.

Nevertheless, the way the message that music was, is our life and will always be, is very nicely passed to the hearts of viewers.

And the music they gave through this movie is soothing than anything...some are so energetic that boosts u with life n spirit....touches your heart and leave you with smile on face...?

Great movie, a must watch. The movie aptly captures patriarchy still widely present at the grass root level. Even though the movie is delivering a social message, there is no melodrama, it is simple, subtle yet it touches your soul.

Bhagel Singh overhears two sisters from Zimidaar's family singing and seeks their father's permission to have them sing at his company. He agrees, on the condition that their identities remain hidden. Set in the late 80s or early 90's 'Bajre Da Sitta' is a tale of two sisters Roop (Tania) and Basant (Noor Chahal). These young ladies are blessed with beautiful vocal abilities. They never got training in singing, yet their voices were compared to the melodies of a nightingale.

It's they perfect mixture of old memories they refresh all memories old thing in the era of 90's like gramophone 1 rupee note etc . This movie have best songs Must watch.

The movie has that charm which is missing from Punjabi movies these days. The music, the lyrics are the soul of this movie. Though the movie is scripted around 60s or 70s Punjab, but it is true that a girl cannot do anything as per her choice in typical jatt family, she has to seek permission; permission from her father, then from her husband. But the writer has a beautiful narrative in this movie.

A must watch. Different concept. You would glue to the screen for 2 hours straight. If your love music, its for you. If you aren't that into music, you will fall for music.

Smooth transition, background sound, natural acting, issues, everything is perfect. Ending could be more better because I did not realize when it ended, I wanted it to go on and on...
