This episode 2 from "Amazon Prime Video's" "Solos" series called "Tom" is one segment that's direct and somewhat to the point as it tries to leave a lasting impact and memory. Anthony Mackie stars as Tom a man who has a terminal illness and not long to live however he purchases a limited and strange product. Tom actually buys himself. This is said to be done for his family, however Tom sees the adjustments that need to be done when the product tells him what his actual self is like! Overall this tale is sentimental as it's good that he can leave a piece of himself behind before he goes and passes away, the mood and moments are touching as this episode has one thinking about staying with life.

After watching the first episode and being unimpressed, I figured I would try more. I am glad I did. The emotion Anthony Mackie brings to this story is impeccable. He speaks with himself as if it's another person. He shows two slightly different personas. And it's beautiful hearing someone describe their family like that.
Anthony Mackie is exceptional

This is a 24 minute acting masterpiece of Anthony Mackie. He draws you in with his brilliant talent & emotional rawness. I've always thought that Mr Mackie was great but this is definitely his vehicle to shine in. I can't wait to see more projects that show us this side of him. I'm such a fan! Also emotional story that centers just on him reflecting on his family & his life. Beautiful!
Good acting but ultimately boring

Warning: Spoilers
Anthony Mackie is a class act of an actor talking to one self such an emotional piece which in beginning you think what's going on this short episode is intense emotional I found myself asking what if any of us even myself was in that position what would we tell ourselves in that moment the acting of this man drew me in to the performance and A class acting Oscar worthy performance from Mackie salute you sir you have come a long way since 8 mile and you deserve all the accolades! Watch this you won't be dissapointed!
Unnecessarily rushed

Warning: Spoilers
Given we know in the next episode that it was a year before he died, why did they only have 15 minutes to hash it out? It felt rushed and just a man telling another man trivial traits about his family, like how his wife farts? I mean really....
Anthony Mackie wow

Mackie gives a wonderful, emotional performance; possibly his best. I can see why these actors jumped at the chance to work here; sometimes playing more than one character. It's evident within the first 5 minutes what the whole thing is about but it detracts not one bit from the enjoyable performance; unlike the forever screaming Hathaway in the first one. A must watch.
Anthony Mackie's Performance Was AMAZING

I watched this show for Anthony Mackie, and I definitely spent my time worth. Anthony's performance truly is outstanding. He brings into the shoes of the character(s) and helps feel the emotion that he portrays. When he talked about his children Wilder and Peg, that really made me cry (I just wish there was background music to really set the mood or the warmth but sadness). This is one of my favorite performances of his. I heard that he spent a good amount of time studying for this role and recalled his old Julliard notes, and IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT. This role is far different from any other roles he played and was more difficult, but he still excelled! Congrats Anthony Mackie!
A Real Man

Had no idea what was coming with this one, and really liked how it unfolded revealing what was going on while in on the conversation. The acting was great, very moving, and especially wonderful the depiction of such a man facing what he was facing. I really appreciate it when men are allowed not only their anger, but their pain and grief related to how much they love: a real man. Very glad this is out there, what filmmaking storytelling can really be.
So much like Harlan Ellison

Redundancy

Why redundancy?
Well watch the episode to get the obvious reference... but I also use the word to acknowledge that any accolades I share about Mackie's performance have likely been shared by others.
WONDERFUL HEARTFELT POWERFUL.

Incredible...
No reference to each other in credits (?!)
This Anthony Mackie masterclass is COPIED, is the same idea, showed in Apple (Original?) Movie Swan Song (coming soon with a promising Maherhala Ali performance).
Wich one was the ORIGINAL one?
