"The Golden Rose" is a beautiful romantic comedy about true love. It is really inspiring, funny and romantic. It is a wake up call for us that we care so much about physical appearance. Great story, outstanding acting and direction. The lead guy is irresistible and she is gorgeous. The old woman has a great look as well. I believe that it was shot in Los Angeles. It features two very old songs that I love: "Love Is a Many Splendored-Thing" and "Young at Heart". I was there when the film received a standing ovation at the 2001 Guanajuato "Expresion en Corto" film festival in Mexico, and it was awarded with the "Argos Award" given by Epigmenio Ibarra and Terry Fernandez. Congratulations! Well deserved!

Different Audiences react with similar responses

I was lucky to see this film in two different festivals. The storytelling flows smoothly. One of the things that caught my attention was how the director makes use of many resources (music, scenes, points of view, speed, etc.) and succeeds in embracing the audience into a massive joyful experience.
Both audiences couldn't have been more different, yet the director grabbed each one of them and made them feel like the movie was made for each individual.
I also liked the taste in choosing locations, this is why one goes to the movies, to be impressed by the visuals. Very classic and universal settings, probably one of the key elements for the audiences reaction.
Great experience, can't wait to see his next movie.
