This Show Mighty Have A Shelf Life
cklingerrocks30 September 2022
I find it hard to take this show seriously now that young Sheldon's voice is deeper than old Sheldon's voice (Jim Parsons) as an adult. I know you have to suspend belief for something like this because it's fiction, but at least try and make the voices match. (Hello acting?) His voice is now deeper than mine.

Also, as Sheldon has gotten older his idiosyncrasies which were pretty spot on in the earlier seasons seem to have mellowed out. This wouldn't be the reflection of where Sheldon was at when he met Leonard.

Still like the show, but it's a continuity thing that's bugging me as I'm watching this episode. Maybe they should have quit before he got to puberty.

I love it but....

I love the new episode great way to start the show again but i feel like the production was a bit too rushed. The episode was 19 minutes i mean we needed more comedy i feel like its now drifting towards a dramedy even though im digging the drama but. I feel like they should make the episodes more longer and we need to see more of georgie and mandy together and the first episode contained less comedy and way more drama which almost defeats the whole purpose of the show and overall i would say im gonna see where this drifts toward it is a beautiful show and top -notch producting and acting excellent.

Puberty hit that boy like a bus!

I've really enjoyed the show thus far but when I saw and heard Sheldon I had a hard time getting past it. Puberty has officially started and that voice dropped hard. It's a bit tough to reconcile last season Sheldon with this season. I'm confident I can get used to it as long as they don't try to keep presenting him as a little kid. He's a young man now and hopefully they adapt the show appropriately. Otherwise it just won't be believable. Sure, adult Sheldon is immature but the current formula just won't work going forward.

Anyone taking issue with how the church has reacted in giving Mary and her family the cold shoulder has no idea what they're talking about. A conservative Texas church will absolutely show you the door and plant a boot print on your ass in that situation.

A surprisingly bad episode
renbutler2 October 2022
Last season had so many intense and touching scenes for a comedy, but this episode just plain missed the mark. Dale was the only real comic relief, and the scene between George Sr. And Georgie in the car was kind of touching. But the scenes with Mary and the church just didn't work, and I think she overreacted to a couple nasty churchgoers. Pastor Jeff tried to reach out, and she shut him out. I though Sheldon was going to save the episode with his speech at the church, but even that failed. And there simply weren't enough laughs. The good thing is that there's a lot of time to pull the season out of the ashes of Episode 1.

Rest In Peace

Young Sheldon is dead. Long live Young Sheldon. Note that this is called a "comedy." No more! The 2022 season premiere was a continuation of the season finale from last Spring. That is, it was not a comedy. It was trash. Not funny in the least. What has happened to this once-funny show? It used to be witty and a delight to watch. Young Sheldon Cooper was hilarious in his youthful eccentricities. It was a fitting prequel to Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory. Of course, Ian Armitage has grown "old." He is no longer the quaint 10 or 12 year-old of the early years. He is now a teenager. That in and of itself leads to "not so funny." But the show's writers have become incredibly woke. A real shame. Something could have been salvaged in the show's final season. But this isn't about to happen. Too bad. It was once brilliant comedy. Now it is just awful. Farewell Young Sheldon!
