Recent reports that have come out pointed out that Solo Leveling Blu-ray volume 2 has bombed miserable in Japan despite its overseas popularity. One week after the release of the Blu-Ray, it has failed to appear on any sales rankings in Japan, falling significantly below expectations.
Solo Levling Blu-Ray volume 2 sold fewer copies than the lowest-ranked titles for that week, which included Mashle: Magic And Muscles season 2 Vol. 2 on Blu-ray, which sold 629 copies, and Ao no Exorcist season 3 on DVD, which sold 164 copies.
Solo Leveling Blu-ray vol. 1 had also failed to make it to any sales charts.
While Blu-ray/DVD sales are not the sole indicator of success, they remain a significant measure of a show’s popularity in Japan, reflecting the number of fans willing to invest in merchandise. Despite the anime enjoying immense international popularity and confirming a sequel, its reception in Japan seems to have fallen short of expectations.

As with any time I try to explain a massive figure in Indian film to the uninitiated, the temptation rises quickly to compare director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to someone in Hollywood.
And, as with any time I actually make these comparisons, everything falls short. Bhansali depicts spectacle evocative of the work of Baz Luhrmann, but even that is a pale imitation (no disrespect to either). There is no one literally anywhere in the world creating cinema with the scale and grandeur that Bhansali has cultivated as his signature, a style so distinct that his own peers pay homage to it while he’s still alive and working.
But at the top of IndieWire’s conversation about Bhansali’s career, he’s quick to shake the larger-than-life visual splendor of his creations, emphasizing — as writer, director and producer, among his many hats — that the stories themselves evoke that scope.

Looking Back At Hrithik Roshan Starrer Guzaarish’s Box Office Failure ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Not all good films work at the box office, and Guzaarish was one such well-made film that tanked miserably. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in key roles, the film had things working in favor, but when it came to footfalls, it was a kind of shocker for the makers. Do you want to know how it fared at ticket windows and what its budget was? Keep reading for all the details!
The romantic drama was helmed by maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It was released on 19th November 2010 and upon its arrival, the film received highly positive reviews from critics. The performances of both Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai were praised. In fact, many feel it’s still Hrithik’s best performance to date as he pulled off the character of paralyzed magician-turned-Radio jockey with utmost ease.

Hrithik Roshan & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan In A Still From Dhoom 2 ( Photo Credit – Yrf / YouTube )
Beauty is something that has generally been a curse to women. Those who are not considered beautiful have to face all kinds of biases, but even those who are considered beautiful have to face bias and insults. In fact, you would not believe that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the most beautiful woman, has been subjected to the same bias.
Being beautiful, at times, comes along with a certain set of preconceived notions. In fact, one might have come across pretty girls as dumb lines. Remember the songs that tag beauty with nakhre? Right from Gore rang pe itna gumaan kar to more.
Often beautiful women have been character shamed, slut shamed, and beauty shamed. They are misjudged as proud, have attitude problems, and more. It was once that even Hrithik Roshan misjudged Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her beauty.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Had An Ugly BreakUp With Salman Khan, Followed By Vivek Oberoi. (Photo Credit – IMDb/Instagram)
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always been a woman of dignity and substance. She has never crossed her line in front of the camera; neither has she ever behaved unreasonably. In fact, she has always maintained a one-arm distance from speaking or ill-commenting about anything.
She came forward only a few times in her life when she opened the Pandora box. For the first time, when she decided to give a tell-all interview against Salman Khan, where she literally announced her break up officially.
She tried to ignore talking about him on Koffee with Karan but did talk about her misunderstanding with Sanjay Leela Bhansali when they both graced the couch. She even talked about how she was replaced in films in an interview with Simi Garewal. However, it doesn’t mean whatever happened did not bother her.

Shah Rukh Khan Played Young Boy Hopeless In Love In Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. ( Photo Credit – Red Chillies Entertainment / YouTube )
Shah Rukh Khan has been a star ever since he arrived, singing loudly Koi Na Koi Chahiye Pyaar Karne Wala in the 1992 released film Deewana. The actor was awarded the Best Male Debut Filmfare for his performance in the film. However, Srk has always been a hungry actor. It seems hungry for love, for accolades, for work, and for awards.
In 1993, while he was just starting his career, he did something that was unimaginable for a newbie, that to an outsider to pull off. However, it seems Srk is being called the king today for a reason – he knew how to strategize and how to hustle.

Ottawa Film Office (Ofo) is moving ahead on plans to build the first major studio facility in the Canadian capital city as the region seeks to respond to the rising demands of streamers and boost film and television production.

Approximately 22 acres of land 20 minutes from the Ottawa International Airport and downtown Ottawa have been leased from the National Capital Commission for the development.

It has been two decades of sci-fi film ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’, and the lead actor Hrithik Roshan says his character ‘Rohit’ helped him connect with his inner child, and reconnect with his innocence and vulnerabilities. The movie revolved around Rohit (Hrithik Roshan), a developmentally disabled man who contacts an extraterrestrial being (Jaadoo) with his late father Sanjay’s (Rakesh Roshan) computer. The film follows his relationship with Nisha (Preity G Zinta), Rohit’s friend, who falls in love with him.
Reminiscing the memories from the shoot of the movie, Hrithik told Ians: ” ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ helped me relive my childhood. While playing Rohit’s character I connected with my inner-child, reconnected with my innocence and vulnerabilities, that’s what makes me nostalgic.”
The actor added that he definitely misses ‘Jaadoo’ a lot too.
If he still considers ‘Rohit’ as the ‘most challenging’ role of his career?

The Monkees‘ earliest hits spoke of girls, love, and good times. However, as they evolved as musicians and grew in the public eye, their music also changed. Songs with more topical themes were explored in the band’s fourth album, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, & Jones Ltd. One included a song that exposed how musicians felt about groupies in the 1960s.
The Monkees members included Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Mike Nesmith, and Peter Tork | Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images The Monkees released ‘Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.’ in 1967
Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. was the fourth album of four released by The Monkees. It was their final LP of 1967.
With that record, The Monkees broke a record that remains. Per Billboard, the band had four number-one albums in one calendar year.
The group dropped their eponymous debut album at the end of 1966, where it remained locked at the number one position for eight weeks.

The summer movie season continues on its road to recovery and normalcy, with four new wide releases hitting screens. Still, studios are holding back their big guns for now, as roughly one-third of theaters remain closed and capacity restrictions remain in place at many locations. The past few months have shown promising box office results from films such as Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat, and Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, but it may still take some time before the box office returns to its former glory, with the major test coming over Memorial Day weekend when Cruella and A Quiet Place Part II face off.
Coming in the first place this weekend will likely be Spiral, the ninth entry in the Saw franchise, this time with a new take that puts Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson in the lead roles. Rock also executive produced and worked on the story for the film,...

This is a tough review to do for two reasons. The first is that it’s not one film, but eight. The second is that I am so far out of the target audience I would simple never have watched this or thought about watching this if I weren’t reviewing it. With that in mind, this won’t be my personal view of what this collection is, but a reflection of what it’s trying to be.
Hi-8: Horror Independent Eight is a project given to eight directors. The idea is to create a short movie using absolutely no technology from the post-Internet age, so no HD cameras, digital effects or found footage. Why do awful things happen to good God-fearing law-abiding tax-paying spouse-loving people?
Look! Just see that man’s face. Rohit loves his wife Suparna to death. Her death, as it happens to be. A moment so shocking in the film and filmed with such gruesome pathos that I found my hands going up to my mouth in sheer horror.
Noooooo! This can’t happen to such lovely people going through such a dream-like journey of togetherness, rudely interrupted by a kind of life-stopping tragedy that sucks the very breath out of romantic yearnings. Kaabil tells a very simple two-storeyed story. In the first opulentl y- romantic overture, Rohit is set up for a date with Suparna. The visionary director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has quoted many a times that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is his muse. The director is swooned not only by the former Miss World’s beauty but the magic she creates on the canvas of his artistic ventures. Had it not been for Aishwarya, would ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ be as epic as it is, who would have teased, loved and made ‘Devdas’ an epitome of true love on-screen like Aishwarya did as ‘Paro’ and can you ever forget the stoic role that she did in ‘Guzaarish’? If you have been longing to see Aishwarya and Sanjay Leela Bhansali recreate some more magical moments together, there is a good news on the way! For his upcoming historical venture, ‘Padmavati’ Sanjay Leela Bhansali has weaved in a role for Aishwarya. As per the speculations go, it would be a dance sequence followed by few dialogues in the movie.

The big box office clash between ‘Kaabil’ and ‘Raees’, is currently one of the hot topics of discussion in the tinsel town. It all started when the makers of Shah Rukh Khan starrer shifted the release date of their film to avoid clash with Salman Khan's ‘Sultan’ and ‘Kaabil’ release date was announced. Both the films are going to lock horns at the box office on January 26, next year. Multiple talks have been going on to avoid the clash, however, Rakesh Roshan, has maintained that they will not shift the release date of their film for any reason. And, if we talk about history, both Srk's ‘Dilwale’ and Hrithik's ‘Mohenjo Daro’, have been the victims of films releasing on the same day. Both the films suffered badly at the box office. While it might be a worrying situation for both the actors, Hrithik Roshan, however, is very much confident...

Hrithik Roshan is bending the rules these days. Getting out of his comfort zone to work with directors he has never worked with before. After he finishes Kaabil with Sanjay Gupta (whom Hrithik has never worked with before) Hrithik will be trying his hand at comedy for the first time. And who better equipped to take Roshan down the laughter route than Sajid Khan, the funster filmmaker whose films are funny even when they are not intended to be. A reliable source informs that Hrithik Roshan would be doing an out and out fun film with Sajid. "It's time for Hrithik to unwind. After a series of intense exhausting parts in Guzaarish, Bang Bang and Mohenjo Daro, he needs to loosen up, have a ball," says the source.

Since she first stepped on screen in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has created some incredible roles both in the South and Hindi film industries. That first film showed that Aishwarya is an actress that likes a challenge, because she played dual role in the critical and box office success. Since her debut, with each new film, the actress has always chosen her roles very carefully and showed tremendous versatility in the characters she portrayed on film. Think of her incredible performance in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, or in the brilliant Taal, as well as Jeans, Raincoat, Chokher Bali, not to mention her total transformation into the characters in Devdas, Jodhaa Akbar and Guzaarish and that is just to name a few.
The actress took a family sabbatical from acting and fans eagerly awaited her return. The question on everyone’s mind was when she was ready...

Set to release on December 18th, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, starring Ranveer Singh, tells the story of Bajirao, one of history’s greatest unsung heroes; a Maratha Peshwa who rewrote the true essence of love and fearlessly protected his kingdom for over 47 long wars. It is an epic tale and the love story of a warrior that also stars Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
Not only has Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Bajirao Mastani, he has also composed the music for the historical saga that is being called his magnum opus. I loved Slb’s music for Guzaarish and looked forward to hearing what he would create for this epic film. After talking with lyricists Prashant Ingole and Siddharth and Garima I was even more excited to get lost into the musical story of Bajirao Mastani. So does the soundtrack transport you to the time, the place and the feeling of Bajirao’s world?...

Finally, after quite some exciting build up for last one year, Jazbaa hits the screens this Friday. The promotion so far has been apt, the marketing is in the right direction and the release plans are spectacular, what with the makers (Zee Studios) going all out to ensure a huge international arrival. In fact it won’t be wrong to say that other than Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, it is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan’s Jazbaa which has been in news for its wide overseas release this year. Now that says a lot about the brand value that the two actors bring on board, something that is notable for sure.
Closer home too, the film is seeing one of the widest releases ever for both the actors. The game has pretty much changed ever since Aishwarya was last seen on the big screen in Guzaarish (2010). In these five years,...

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has released the motion poster of his upcoming film ‘Jazbaa’ and by the short promo, it seems he is all set to deliver an interesting pacey thriller. Jazbaa is among much anticipated film of this year because of two reasons. First and foremost, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is returning to the silver screen after a huge gap. She was last seen in Hrithik Roshan’s “Guzaarish”, which released back in 2010.
Second, Aishwarya is pairing with Irrfan Khan, something never-seen-before casting, and this unusual pairing has boost the excitement for the film. Also Abhishek Bachchan’s better half will be seen as lawyer for the first time in her 18 years career.
Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Atul Kulkarni and Chandan Roy Sanyal’s presence as supporting role has made it not-to-be-missed thriller of the year. After watching this video motion poster, we can’t wait for the full trailer that...

On everyone’s Bollywood radar is Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It is the film that will bring the actress back to the silver screen since we saw her in Guzaarish in 2010 and fans cannot wait.

For last few days there have been rumors floating around the budget of ‘Bajirao Mastani’, which is being widely pitched as the costliest film ever to come out of Bollywood. In fact with a number as high as 210 crore being heard, it had seemed like Sanjay Leela Bhansali was indeed making his Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone as the biggest ever magnum opus.
As has turned out though, while Bhansali’s vision is of course waiting to be realized and the film would indeed be the biggest ever in Indian cinema, the budget is nowhere close to the number floating around. In fact, it is less than half, what with 100 crore going into the production. While it was decided by powers-that-be to not compromise on the scale, setting and treatment of the film, the man who actually made it possible was the man himself, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. On her new pal Sanjay Leela Bhansali's request, Priyanka Chopra flew into Mumbai specially to attend to the first-look event for Mary Kom and to attend a special birthday party hosted by the filmmaker for his new favourite. In fact, Priyanka flew out to the Us straight after the party at Slb's residence on Friday night. It was Aishwarya Rai, who at one time, inspired Sanjay Leela Bhansali to make a trilogy of great films, namely Devdas, Hum...Dil De Chuke Sanam, and Guzaarish. For a while, it was Rani Mukerji who seemed to occupy Slb's muse-space. Then, it seemed Deepika Padukone had taken over as Slb's resident muse when he signed her for Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. But it's Priyanka Chopra, with whom Slb has hit it off like no other actress before, so much so that he actually did the unthinkable for Priyanka Chopra. Says a source close to Slb,...

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is no doubt in a very good mood following the commercial and critical success of his latest film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the tragedy is a modern Indian adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, with the inclusion of lavish sets, costumes and music. Despite protests towards the film in India, this has not prevented it from becoming a major success at the box office. In an interview with journalist Subhash K. Jha, Sanjay spoke about how he feels about the success of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. “It feels liberating. I’ve finally slept peacefully the whole night. The last few weeks have been traumatic. The protests left me shaken and drained. But now that the film is being so appreciated, you feel all the effort has been worth it. I am happy to see the audience is getting the nuances in the narration.

It was predicted in this column last week that ‘Ram Leela’ would take an opening in the range of 50%-60% and bring in around 15 crore on the first day. This is exactly how it happened as ‘Ram Leela’ brought in 16 crore on Friday and then further gained strength over the weekend with good footfalls coming in across the country. As a result, over 50 crore were earned in the opening weekend itself, hence bringing the film in the safe zone and a sure-shot hit in the making. All that remains to be seen now is the distance that it would cover in days to follow.

Just when you think you have seen it all, there comes a film that reminds you of how far the cinematic medium has come…And how far it can go in the right hands. And let’s face it. Bhansali is Bhansali. His visual imagery in all his earlier films from Khamoshi: The Musical to Guzaarish is comparable with the best art from any field of aesthetics.
You could say Bhansali’s cinema is the visual equivalent of Lata Mangeshkar’s singing. And you wouldn’t be wrong.
In terms of its free-flowing unmeasured operatic opulence Ram-Leela (with or without the censorial pre-fix) comes closest to the giddy high-pitched and yet miraculously controlled tempo and tenor of Bhansali’s Devdas. That too was a steeply sensuous cinematic adaptation from a literary source. Ram Leela goes to Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet...

Film: "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela", Cast: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Supriya Pathak, Gulshan Devaiah and Richa Chadda; Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali; Rating: *****
Just when you think you have seen it all, there comes a film that reminds you of how far the cinematic medium has come...And how far it can go in the right hands. Let's face it - Bhansali is Bhansali. The visual imagery in all his earlier films - from "Khamoshi: The Musical" to "Guzaarish" is comparable with the best art from any field of aesthetics.
In terms of its free-flowing, unmeasured and operatic opulence, "Ram-leela" (with or without the censorial prefix), comes closest to the giddy high-pitched and yet miraculously controlled tempo and tenor.

Hrithik Roshan was in Ahmedabad recently for the inauguration of a jewelry showroom. Clad in semi casual clothes, he attended a press conference and we have this special report!
When Hrithik Roshan walks in to the room the energy changes. Then watching him speak and inspire everyone with his experiences, it’s hard to believe that he has been fighting mammoth health problems and racked with constant, excruciating pain. One of the most intriguing things when you listen to him talk is the deep philosophy behind everything he does. One of the coolest things is that Hrithik is just a regular man who is deeply dedicated to his family and his fans.
Read on to see how Krrish opened up about his health, his career, his peace of mind, his family and the upcoming movie Krrish 3.
Emcee : (After the screening of the Krrish 3 trailer and a huge round of applause) That was breathtaking.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's eagerly-awaited Ram Leela was cleared on Friday by the Censor board Of Film Certification without any verbal or visual cuts.
But with a 'UA' certificate. That is to say, children can only watch Ram Leela accompanied by grownups.
All of Slb's earlier films Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum...Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Saawariya barring Guzaarish have been granted 'U' certificates.
Says a source from Sanjay Bhansali Productions, "Sanjay Sir expected a 'UA' for Ram Leela. The basic storyline is violent and there are lots of guns in the film. Having said that the Censor Board has been extremely liberal with the aggressive language and the violence. They understood the context and completely empathized with Slb's need to turn aggressive in Ram Leela."
Incidentally, Sanjay Bhansali was busy with the censoring on Friday and therefore skipped a promotional event with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone at Mehboob studios.
