A sad story
ersbel27 December 2015
This is a very sad story. I like Marc Isaacs' approach. But Lift, his previous film worked so much better. Marc has an interesting style. He is out, yet so present. He wants you to believe it is the story of the others, the people passing in front of the camera. In the end it is still his story. And it is his story.

I don't know what made Lift better. The easy answer would be: the length. But it's not that easy. Here we have clearer histories. The players are better defined. Yet maybe they were too many. And too bleak. Only one optimist story, the ex-soviet girl. But even that it's just a far promise. And also it is in France, but the film is done like on the other side of the water, in England. Precisely there is no trace of the French.
