Informative, tense and silly
gmarbackpehler28 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The premise is both a huge reach and effective informational storytelling. I do believe these otters are fighting over territories. I do not believe that are capable of Machiavellian strategies. However, the insanely dramatic storyline, while often over the top, will teach you about how otters form relationships/socialize/eat/mate/etc. If you're able to separate fact from drama. That being said, if you just want easy viewing, enjoy Royal-family strife tropes, or just like looking at great video of otters doing cute and crazy things, then tune it.

Plus you'll get a few chuckles every time the narration says something like "I will kill my own daughter" with the otter looking at the camera like :p and giving out a delightful "squee"

Game of Thrones-with otters.
hachmom-1644030 April 2023
This is an Entertaining show about rival families of otters. The matriarchal otters form sophisticated groups and engage in Shakespearean level plotting against each other. Success is bound up in the female otter's ability to command the female l sometime they go on life and episode. At times the charecters seem over the top anthropromorthized, with suggestion of religious rituals and traditions.

Also, the highly dramatic narration gets over the top at times (one longs for someone of David Attenborough level gravity) but it is fun, the photography is excellent, and one does learn a lot about otters. Great program to watch with young kids. I found it very enjoyable.

Touchdown

What a cinematic masterpiece. This absolutely took my breath away. Claire Clements has done it again!! As a huge psychological thriller fan, I found myself completely unable to look away. I suggest starting this on a Friday night so you aren't tempted to call out of work the next day; like I did. Pop some corn, get some tissues ready, and strap in for the ride of your life. I've been looking for a show that makes me feel this alive for as long as I can remember. Finally. I want to give a standing ovation to the cast and crew. The special effects and makeup team is phenomenal. They look just like real otters.

Painful narration
Eljefedejeffy28 May 2023
This has potential to be good but the narration it's just horrible. I can't understand why they would do this. The voices are horrible and so is the narration. I was genuinely interested in the content about the otters, but this narrators are just the worst.

I was genuinely interested in this contact, but they really should've thought more about how they put this out.

Best show I've ever seen
erikamcmath26 June 2023
Please. Please watch this. It's amazing. It's comedy, it's drama, and it's so entertaining. The drama! The clans, the twists!! Amazing show. It's special to have an idea that is completely new in this day and age. This has never before been done or thought of, and what you would think would be terrible turns out to be exceptionally well-made. I heavily respect whoever is behind this idea and whatever factors helped it come to fruition. There are so many good, funny moments and the city of Singapore is a beautiful and interesting location to look at in itself. Like I said, just please watch it. Tell everyone you know.

Pathetic narrative silly soap opera plot contrasts real nature; time waster.
cgtam23 June 2023
1st episode is moderately interesting, trying to copy markeet manor, viewer is introduced to different otters in clans allegedly residing in Singapore while film serves as tourist ad for the city. By 3rd episode, all cuteness of otters is destroyed by random shots of any river otters living in filthy cities or under homes. Worse, the script intensifies human greed & revenge theories in explaining otters behaviors that are completely nonsensical, esp with repeat shots.

Further insult to one's intelligence is Voice Actors narration worsening in lame attempt to "create drama" where there is none- just filling space to stretch out episodes & waste time. Much of scenes look amateur, done with cell phone camera. Sound effects do not match the film either.

It's def NOT a documentary, nor remotely close to what markeet manor, BBC Dynasties 1, & savage kingdom accomplished. Pathetic producers got so cheap they couldn't even google & copy into narration most basic facts about river otters & their lives.

Wild river or ocean Otters ARE one of the "cutest" mammals left & it would've been interesting to view 1 full day of their lives anywhere - just turn on camara & leave out narration. Epic failure on every level.

Bad video game cut screen narration
itadmin-3257714 June 2023
The visuals look good and I would love to see a documentary without the lame video game narration . The parts that you skip. Did they hire an bad AI to write the dialogue? It does even fit what's going on in the video. You could just have random otter footage which come squeaking and it would equal this. Have these people ever watch a documentary before?

Amazing scenery and adorable narration
andrealeikennedy7 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I know one person mentioned narration being bad but honestly it was bearable. It helped to bring together each episode and what was going on otherwise you would have no idea which otter you were watching and who had mated with who and whose pups you were looking at it was very entertaining great to watch with the kids as it was tasteful even when it came to the breeding talk it wasn't too over the top or detailed about those types of things and merely correlated it to needing a larger group to be able to win the war over the bay city riverways. I personally loved Olivia the most but the mud paws leader was a close second. I highly encourage you to watch this if you can it's so adorable and can be dark and serious in a few spots as well.

An amazing workshow but somewhat repetitive
notrykazard12 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is an amazing show particularly the narration is great and the storyline is enticing however after the first episode it gets quite repetitive even during the first episode it is quite repetitive also during the next episodes it gets repetitive and during the first episode it gets repetitive but otherwise I was impressed with how much thought was put into it it's also impressive how there's it's a two-person team basically making this entire show also I was very impressed with how they made a 3D model of the map of otters it is a great show to put on the in the background well doing other things.

Amazing
polaskem21 July 2023
This is the perfect show to watch before the family wakes up. Very relaxing and easy to watch. I usually would watch animal documentaries but the story is fun and interesting enough to keep your attention for the full episode. I rooted for eva all season and there are multiple points where you will not know if the otter you want to win will make it. You get to follow 3 different otter clans fighting for territory. Think game of thrones but with otters. There are turtle spies, cheating otters, otter prisoners, and more. I want to go to Singapore just to see these otters now and experience the otter dynasty first hand. I hope they make a season 2 as it ended on a cliff hanger!
