The premise is both a huge reach and effective informational storytelling. I do believe these otters are fighting over territories. I do not believe that are capable of Machiavellian strategies. However, the insanely dramatic storyline, while often over the top, will teach you about how otters form relationships/socialize/eat/mate/etc. If you're able to separate fact from drama. That being said, if you just want easy viewing, enjoy Royal-family strife tropes, or just like looking at great video of otters doing cute and crazy things, then tune it.
Plus you'll get a few chuckles every time the narration says something like "I will kill my own daughter" with the otter looking at the camera like :p and giving out a delightful "squee"
