Episode 5 is undoubtedly the greatest episode of this series and it's no surprise to see that Gareth Evans was behind it. What makes it so fine is that it plays out as a mini movie with a single storyline in Evans' own turf, rural Wales. The first half is pure suspense building that had me on the edge of my seat while the extended climax lets rip with a house siege that puts a similar moment in SKYFALL to shame. Evans is in his element with the action choreography here, with weapon madness and human bodies getting constantly damaged and eviscerated throughout. It's bloody, brutal mayhem and I loved every bit of it.

Epic Action

Arguably the greatest episode of action TV ever. Episode 5 takes it to the next level. Cinematic Style action and bloodshed that really does crank it up to max, seriously think John Woo or even Sam Peckinpah it really is that good.

This show is definitely up there with my favourite shows that have great action, this is up there with Daredevil and Game of Thrones. Even tho the episode is a bit pointless and it would of been nice to see kinney and his son darren live but the episode just shows us how powerful finn wallaces killers are. The action scene in this episode is definitely up there with battle of the bastards.
Episode 5 (6 on Stan)

Episode 1 was split into 2 so I was so confused as to why episode 5 had such a high rating when it was just another episode really. So when I watched this episode, the rating made sense. Usually I hate side quest episodes or episodes that break up the pacing of the season, but this was nothing short of a masterpiece. It felt like a movie and the action was the best I've seen in a while (film included). This could easily be watched as the first of the season and I would happily tell my friends to watch this first if their on the fence. There's nothing plot heavy a part from the twist ending, but the tension built throughout the whole movie.
How a siege is done

A mild deviation from the main narrative, this episode is certainly the most powerful and exciting of the series. This isn't about plot, it's about action and characters. The first two thirds are a tense build up to a siege (which is a follow up to a similarly impressive traveller camp sequence at the end of episode two). There is a well thought out, transitional, geographical sequence that gives scale and perspective to what is about to unfold in the final act. When it does, you'll be holding your breath. I've watched it several times as there is a lot to take in, but it's so we'll orchestrated and beautifully shot, you'll want to see it again. As good as television gets, up there with the best sequences from Game of Thrones, and more impressive than most action films. Genuinely innovative and compulsive, a masterpiece.
Total disintegration and chimney drops, wow.

I'm not big into gang culture with people puffing up there chests and racing whippetts. But I am a big fan of The Raid and by God this is the coolest episode yet. I'm enjoying the series on an action level. Each episode had some tense scenes but this was excellent. Im into TV and movies for escapism, not living in a skip skag rubbish. Blew me away. Some amazing technical shots in this episode as well. Tense TV.
Best Episode So Far AND The Best Action Sequence Of The Show

It definitely lived up to the hype surrounding it and was even cool that it took place away from the main story and didn't distract from it, but anyway, the first 35 minutes is suspense and buildup, but after that, what ensues is literally the angriest and most INSANE shootout you will see in a LONG damn time, blood and brains flying everywhere, the farmhouse getting torn to shreds, it's 20 minutes of nonstop carnage and we're all for it lol. Season 2 may possibly have an episode that'll top this one but that's an early prediction.

What an outstanding episode of TV. The series has some critics and rightly so but the fight scenes throughout are some of the best ever in a TV show, from the bar fight in ep 1 or the gypsy fight in ep 2 to this whole episode.
Absolutely awesome

Action packed episode. Brilliantly directed. Stacks up alongside the best episodes of series like The Wire or, dare I say it, The Sopranos. I know, I know, that borders on heresy. Since I just finished watching it my enthusiasm just might wane a tad later. But, it's a damn good episode and I think I might watch it again.
One of the best Tv episodes

A tense, gut wrenching, white knuckle thrill ride. Best episode by far!

This episode of Gangs of London was as mad as a bag of spiders. The tension ratchets up with virtually every scene, culminating in a desperate, edge-of-the-seat, action packed, heart pounding fight for survival. Like one of the old John Woo action flicks. Unforgettable.
The best Episode of anything I've watched in 2020!

The only people who are hating on this are those who don't have a stomach for violence and to them I have one question? How did you even make it this far into the show? One doesn't really need to look that deep into how it connects with the rest of the show, cause this is pure gold. The barnhouse carnage is as well orchestrated as the church scene in kingsman, and tbh if Gangs of London was Breaking Bad then this episode is like "Fly; S3x10". Enough said.
I'm at a loss for words

John Woo bend over

As an actioner aficionado I have to say, I have never seen something like this before. The gun fight scenes are the best I have ever seen, and by far. The homage to John Woo is crystal clear, but I have to say, this is way better than anything the master did before. As long as the serie goes this is an incredible and tense gangster drama, well written and with a lot of bloody action scenes. I love it!

Actually really good. This episode was extremely well shot. The aerial shot was astounding. The whole episode wasn't action, and we had a fair amount of tension and buildup beforehand. We got some nice insight and we're introduced to a few interesting characters. I suppose this was somewhat of a bottle episode and as far as they go, this was very well done. Although I'm not really a fan of action in general, it was still expertly executed. It was mixed with moments of tension, brilliantly shot, accompanied by excellent music and well choreographed. It's a shame that it was still marred by some convenient writing, rubbish aim at characters who had been introduced more than a minute ago, and select characters able to survive a hellfire. At the end of the day though, I suppose it doesn't matter too much seeing as eventually everyone kicks the bucket anyway. Still, doesn't mean that it wasn't annoying seeing several characters making completely stupid decisions. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this, the way it filled in some missing gaps, and the cliffhanger that nicely tied it into the main story and has some big repercussions going forward.

Probably the most violent thing I've ever seen on British tv. But that's not a bad thing, it was beautifully filmed, amazingly acted. I've never swore so much at a tv program ever! Amazing episode to an amazing series. I recommend Gangs of London to anyone!
A beautiful tragedy

This episode is mostly filmed in one remote location in Wales. Seeing the length a man will go to to save his son after losing his home and all his friends is truly breathtaking. I have never felt so much sympathy for some gypsies in my entire life, wow!
You will be invested for an hour in a group of characters that have literally lost everything, fighting for survival against all the odds. You will not have seen battle sequences this good since Game of Thrones season 7, the cinematography is astonishingly good.
Once you have seen this it certainly makes one question whether the Sean Wallace is a protagonist or villain in this series. You are unlikely to view him the same way after witnessing his Nazi like hit squad.
