Finals begin, Hawkins 300th game though maybe in career best form, which is amazing. Stewart out for the finals, Duncan back for the Cats and assuming Stewart's role. This dangerous tackle thing's going to ruin a final for sure. Henry and Aliir both good aggressively intercepting out of defense, Port by 10 at quarter-time. Port's pressure excellent, dominating the 2nd term, despite all the umpiring decisions going the Cats way. The Cats with plenty of dropped marks, Henderson in particular struggling. They solve nothing in the 3rd, with Port keeping the pressure up. Hawkins unable to really get into the game despite the 2 goals, no fault of his own. Ports small-forwards kicking 10 of the 12 goals, in the 43 point victory, Fantasia in particular electric. The Cats were slightly ahead in the hit-outs and dominated centre clearances, +6 in clearances. Port had much more of the footy though and still +15 in the tackle count. They had 15 more inside 50's and 10 more scoring shots. Fantasia with just the 9 disposals best afield, with 4 goals. Aliir 14 effective disposals, 4 contested marks and 11 intercepts. Henry for the Cats similar to Aliir, with 15 disposals, 4 contested marks and 11 intercepts. Boak and Wines also among the best for Port.
