I know that a lot of people tuned in to watch this final episode, over 5 million viewers watched the show bow out after almost 300 episodes, fair to say the show was a shadow of its former self, but this final series was much improved over recent offerings.
All events this series have been building to this final episode, Clarke pretty much breaking down one big story into six episodes, the main question was always going to be, would Howard be allowed back home, ir was he finally going to run off with Marina?
I think for anyone that hadn't been watching it, that simply tuned in to watch the send off, it would have been a disappointment, for the avid fan, I think it would have been quite satisfying.
There are a few laughs, but more than that it's all put nostalgia, just knowing that's the end, and seeing the whole cast together is sweet. Even Auntie is dressed up.
Did it end at the right time? Tough to ask, new characters had come and gone, but none of them captured the hearts as the originals did, would it perhaps have been better if Clarke had allowed other writers to pen scripts? I personally think it had long since been on borrowed time.
6/10.
