This show is good. They build cool stuff and the NY attitude from the hosts is funny and entertaining. Clearly the hosts don't actually dislike kids, they crack jokes at them for the sake of the show. And the kids crack right back. People who are offended by this show are way too tender and sensitive. Good show.

Watched every episode, but too much meme editing
jonas-tornmalm11 April 2022
It's a fun show, but it gets annoying to watch when there's constantly shorts that feels like memes, extremly overly edited. I enjoy when they focus on how they actually make the stuff, and their thoughts etc. Also feels too staged, typical american tv.
But worth a watch.

Good Show, But Kids Should Watch With Parents
jeremycrimsonfox7 March 2022
A new reality show, Making Fun stars celebrity maker Jimmy DiResta, along with friends Jackman, Graz, Derek, and Canadian Pat, make ideas given to them by kids. Watching this show, it is good, as they have some neat songs and special effects used, however, parents should watch with their kids as the show does have minor swearing and occasional crude humor.
Absolutely Brilliant!

Jimmy, Derek, Pat, Paul, and Graz do such an awesome job of creating the wildest ideas kids can come up with! The show itself is extremely entertaining. The chemistry between everyone makes the show enjoyable. Workshop rib jabs are sprinkled throughout each episode. There's no Hollywood drama, which is a breath of fresh air. The best part about the show is the hilariously crafted montages. The writers of the songs need to pat themselves on the back for those masterpieces!
Well done, guys! I hope the show gets picked up for season 2!

Best show I've seen in years

Can't wait for season 2! Kids and I couldn't stop laughing. It's refreshing to see a family show that isn't mindless positivity, the guys treat the kids like people and not like kids, which you can tell they appreciate. The builds are impressive too.
Love this!

Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely love this new show and I hope there's going to be a season 2. The host is a grump git but I don't think deep down he is, I think it's just a put on for the show. He calls kids brats and some things he says you think omg as if he said that. But after watching the whole series you can tell he enjoys working with the kids to an extent lol before anyone thinks it's shocking that he says he doesn't like kids, not many ppl do! Due to being seriously annoying😅.. some of the kids are a bit forward but it's fine because the host just isn't bothered lol some of the ideas the kids come out with are great and for the 5 guys to execute the final product perfectly is Amazing. The 5 guys who do this show are so talented, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses but their weakness is someone else's strength and they just work brilliantly together. Must watch if your child loves crazy and artsy. Must watch if your an adult and just love things being built; like me. Great show.
Not Kid Friendly Material

The best maker show on tv. Not just for kids.

This show is a breath of fresh air. It's great to see a group working together without all the scripted drama most reality based shows require. I can't wait to see what they have in store for season 2. I know this show is for kids, but it still has its fair share of adult Jokes and humor. This is a great show for the whole family.
Making Fun of kids is not ok.

Honestly I only got through about 5 minutes of this before I had to turn it off. Imagine 8 yo you being excited to see yourself on TV and what you see is them "turning off their TV" and making fun of you. Imagine 8 yo you going to school three next day and everyone parroting what they saw.
Also, imagine being a YouTube creator called "Making Fun" and suddenly your IP is on Netflix. Or imagine being another YouTube channel consisting of an all female cast seeing the exact same thing you do being done on Netflix by stereotypical 4 (white) men with beards.
No thank you.

So im a 16 year old who is really enjoying this series! It is great fun and the inventions are all so stupid that i love them. The skits at the end of the episodes are really great! And the builders are hilarious. A must watch if you like lego masters.
Amazing fun

Not sure who this is aimed for. It's to generic and childlike for adults to watch as they are building things for kids. I wouldn't recommend my own kids to watch it as it doesn't foster a good value as calling the kids names. Would not recommend.
Great show for kids and adults
chrisidv10 March 2022
Really great show, no matter your age. It's full of laughs, but the best part is that they actually go into detail about what they're doing. They don't just tell you they're going to do something. They actually do it and explain what they're doing, and why. I think this is where a lot of similar shows miss the ball.
Not for kids

Making Fun is great! I am really enjoying it! You get to learn different things in all the episodes! I really hope they make another season! Another thing that is great about this series is that it is SO funny. For me, there is NEVER a time when Im not laughing! There are so many weird and useless ideas on this show and its supposed to be really fun for them but it is fun for me too! You should really watch this show, you will learn so much! I hope if you watch it that it will be fun for you too!
Just awesome!

We loved this! Our boys (6&9) love to build things and love being silly and this is the best of both worlds. Lots of laughs and lots of creativity to bring little minds big ideas to life. Really shows them that literally anything is possible if you put your minds to it!
And to all the negative Nancy's complaining about the hosts demeanor, it's a joke, it's goes along with the humour of the show. The kids and Jimmy go back and forth with "insults" and it's a play on young and old. All in good fun, and it is definitely a lot of fun!

Just the worst people

My son enjoys shows where people make things. His favorites are Lego, crafts, and baking shows currently. I thought that this would be a good addition, as it adds cool things like power tools and inventing great things from kids' imaginations.
But the person hosting it is.. just the worst. Constantly belittling kids (calling them "dumb" or "brats") like some jock from the 80s putting down nerds. The humor is crass, as best, and it is generous to pretend it is humor. A lot of low-brow bathroom humor.
The making itself is pretty interesting. But not enough to give the show anything above one star.
Definitely don't watch with younger kids (the rating should be at PG-13). And I would warn against it with tweens or teens, unless you want them to possibly become massive tools by emulating the awful behavior. Best audience would be man-children who refuse to grow up, and like building things.

Don't be uptight, it's a great, goofy, good natured show
strummerd139 November 2022
The show is brilliant and there's nothing else like it.
Jimmy is great at making the kids laugh. He is extremely sarcastic and plays the friendly jerk very well. He is good at making the kids feel comfortable enough that they can tease each other back and forth. The kids come at him hard, he fires back, and they make fun of him too, but it's all super innocent and friendly and his "cold" demeanor is very well played.
This is a good natured, sarcastic, and friendly show that I love watching with my 6 and 8 year old. The guys are good, the interactions are funny and unique, the builds are wild and impressive.
Don't listen to the people saying it's not appropriate. They must be SEVERELY uptight. It's goofy and silly, not mean or vulgar. Kids need to be able to have fun like they do on this show.

Crude humor

I like the concept of building from random requests but not when children are allowed to swear and behave obnoxiously. You can be funny without showing disrespect towards others. This show needs to be cleaned up or cancelled.
What a delightful suprise

I put this on because the boy kept asking for it. Turns out, these guys are awesome. I found myself genuinely entertained and laughing constantly. Give these guys more seasons. They make ridiculous things. IMDb won't let me give it a ten, but it deserves it.
A Making Show With Actual Making!
handmadebyvf9 March 2022
Making on TV has always been a tenuous thing. Often the shows focus too much on personalities and the dynamics of the show and not enough on the making. This show is surprisingly deep in that it's a reality competition show with a sense of humor and strong technical presentation as well.
The show is presented similar to Shark Tank where kids pitch wacky ideas to Jimmy and the guys, and one is chosen per episode to be made (much to the delight of the kids). Jimmy Diresta plays the role of host, albeit with an amplified crabbiness that's honestly one of the funnier parts of the show, and his tongue-in-cheek grumpiness is one of the funniest parts of the show (especially if you know him through other mediums).
Once the build begins, though, the dynamic of Jimmy, Pat, Derek, Graz, and Paul (and in one episode, Justine) all come through showing just how much they are actual friends, and that camaraderie elevates the show beyond "we made a thing today here's how." The kids are cute, funny, likeable, and diverse in every sense of the word, and their delight at seeing their ideas brought to life makes this a charmer as well as entertaining.
This is a great show to watch with your kids, or on your own if you don't have them and should inspire kids to explore their ideas and try to make them into something tangible.
I hope there's a season two, and the only thing I would ask for is more Justine because she fits in really nicely with the others and having seen her on Making It, I know how talented she really is.
Great job on this one, and a must watch for anyone who enjoys reality competition shows, funny reality shows, and making / DIY content.

Gets your kids into making

Bullying is not cool
anton-2683523 September 2022
This could have been a great show. Unfortunately the host is extremely rude to some of the kids. The worst thing about the show is the constant bullying of one his "friends" though. He is Constantly putting him down for not being good enough and for being to lightweigh and to short? Seriously? How is this okay? If the point of this show to inspire kids (and adults) to create things then it is failing miserably. Instead it sends the message that making is only for tall and mean-spirited old guys. It is also really sad to see how he discourage creativity by making fun the ideas that some of these kids are presenting.
