Love show. Hate fake physic
charmedody11 April 2022
The show would be alot better if you had a real physic on there. If she is a medium or even a empath she wouldn't be so freaked out all the time. She would be able to communicate or even feel the ghosts or energy's before. Please get a real paranormal person. The show would be awesome.

Ya Had Me, Then Lost Me
jenharding5322 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So, I can go along with the over dramatic acting in this genre of entertainment, but this one, they had me until episode 5. They were using a ouija board, and one hunter was completely sensory deprived. At least that's what they wanted us to believe. The guys left ear is not covered completely, and it's totally obvious. So, if you want entertainment, it's not bad. If you want real, this, not so much.

Why didn't I think of this??
downtownjennibrown9 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This show is pretty good if you go into knowing that it's just for entertainment. I thoroughly enjoy most ghost shows because they entertain me. That's the key word. I was hoping this one to be a little more real though. "Oh wait, what's that tapping, that's leading me into a hidden closet, at a museum, that we happened upon?? Oh look it's a box from the ladies great grandma, who was a witch, who wasn't even from here!! Lucky us! Oh wait, what's this at the bottom of a closet, buried behind a wall, buried under the casing, buried deep within, that I happened to put my hand down and find?? Oh no! It's a club, that was a tool, in someone's murder! Man lucky us again!!

Ok, ok, but I did say it's pretty good. Remember that. I mean hell I watched the whole thing.

My question is, Does the Discovery Channel get a percentage of this families earnings when all of us idiots ( I did say "us") want to to go stay there and she books out for years in advance???? Man why didn't I think of that. Find a place. Make a ghost show. Watch the little ants go in willingly.

Good Stuff.

Hard to believe this isn't satire.
Whitney_T16 April 2022
I have always had a soft spot for ghost shows and stories of hauntings, but Ghost Adventures has set a really low standard for shows of this nature and the Travel Channel producers have answered that calling with more cheap thrill trash.

So much of this is scripted; scenes where the family is discussing "findings" with the ghost team is clearly re-enacted (with terrible acting) and half of the "proof" is comprised of body sensations, gut feelings and fuzzy EVP's. This show would benefit from less production and more raw footage.

It's a great show to watch with someone who loves to laugh at over-exaggerated acting and "ghost hunters" yelling "SHOW YOURSELF YOU COWARD" at an overpaid film crew hiding in the dark.

It's a solid 3-4 star rating (out of 10) for it's kitschy entertainment value, but there is nothing tangible here if you're interested in real ghosts.

Season 2 is okay but Karen Broussard is horrible
iamakaren30 October 2023
Season 2 so far seems to be okay but I do not understand why Karen Broussard and her family are still on this show. It is quite apparent that Karen does not want any help after her failed exorcism from season 1. Karen Broussard is STILL possessed by demons, and season 2 includes the introduction of a new entity Tom. Karen Broussard at best is unwatchable, and she is extremely callous.. Karen Broussard runs ghost hunts at her ranch when they aren't filming the show - yet cries for help on camera when the cameras are on. It seems that the production team knew this a choose to pick more investigations outside of the ranch.

What is happening??? Spoiler alert!
purplema-6176225 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Okay so I thought the show was, key word was, going to be good because of the old western setting and haunting but man I can't do anything but sleep through the show. I can't even finish the 3rd episode because I'm just so sad with the entire performance that is being put on. The 2nd episode where the lead investigator is supposedly going to repel into this huge hole but only repels 3 feet of the entrance and completely wimps out, completely disappointing. Aside from everything being demonic, which at this point I wish it was so something more interesting would happen, complete lack of common sense especially when it come to what animal bones would look like, I'm pretty sure there is literally a T-bone in an episode and their like "omg is that a bone?!" Yes, and just the lack of even trying on the show, this is a good show to put you to sleep, if you're a true ghost hunting enthusiast and a true believer this is not the show for you.

Hand held cameras
crenns30 March 2022
The story line is very good but there is too much shaking of the hand held cameras. Get rid of the amateurs and hire some professionals I'm about to puke by the end of the episode.

Silly show
stevelilhasz15 April 2022
Seems the Mother is an attention seeker, just silly acting.

I kept feeling she was doing this to 'advertise' her business. But, this would story would make a great fictional movie.

I love shows like this and this one is done well. The town is genuinely creepy which adds to the enjoyment. It reminds me of Ghost Mine which was on a few years ago. I look forward to more episodes.

Why People Who Do People Who Dislike Paranormal Shows Watch and Review
The show is interesting and has a story that hasn't been exhausted before like your standard paranormal investigation shows. It moves along at a quick pace that keeps the story consistently progressing.

Terror??
brenwalt1 April 2022
Nothing much happens except for the cast psyching each other out and asking " are you okay" to one another. Please make something better than this! They just talk and talk to put ideas in each other's heads. They can't find a thing except dead animals. No idea how they got the rating they have! Maybe that's the terror they speak of!

Exceptional
troytheisen6 April 2022
This is one of the best non-fiction ghost investigations I have ever seen. There is no over-the-top, chewing-the-scenery, playing-up-to-the-camera acting nonsense (I'm talking to you, Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures), and there is a genuine air of foreboding over the family at the center of it all. The two main investigators really do care, they are extremely knowledgeable in their field, and the people they bring in to help them are top notch, as well. I certainly hope they make this into a regular annual series. Since Discovery got rid of one of the best ghost teams ever, The Tennessee Wraith Chasers, and after a huge series of stupid ghost shows have come and gone, I have been reluctant to watch anything else on Discover concerning ghost chasing at all. I accidentally happened across this show, and, boy, am I glad I did. It is definitely a 10-star presentation. But knowing how Discovery operates, they'll probably kick this one to the curb, also. As far as pulling excellent, noteworthy shows goes, SyFy has always been the worst (those guys have shot themselves in the foot more times than I can count), but Discovery is not far behind.

Season 2 Episode 2
fado-511811 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
While I believe in the paranormal. I can't seem to decide if this show is serious or not. Having said that. Season 2 episode 2. When he is in the witches whole. He sees red on the walls. The red reminded me of the burned ceiling she shows them with the demons face in episode 2.1 seems like a similar pattern on the wall and the board. Having said that. I'd like this show to be legit. The town and area seem quite active. However other shows have shown more in my opinion. But maybe as the seasons appear, maybe we will start seeing more. I feel like there should be cameras and recorders set up everywhere at all times.

Interesting show so far
neo7795621 March 2022
Having watched the first two episodes I have to say that this show is unlike anything on travel that I have seen so far which is a good thing. Some of the other commenters have said that this is like Ghosts of Morgan City as that show was about a whole city - where as this one is about a family who needs help. Having a paranormal team investigate paranormal activities focused on one location is way more interesting than seeing one 40 min episode on one location like the other paranormal shows and is way more believable.

I would of given this show a higher rating but I would like to see more investigating before doing so.

Don't Bother, It's Fake
courtneypedersen9 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this show had a really good idea behind it but the execution is missing. You can tell the two main "investigators" are acting by the way they talk. And I'm sorry, but just because an entity tells you it's a "demon" does not mean it's a demon! Do you know how many ghosts mess with people by portraying themselves as a demon or the devil??? A lot! And these idiots believe them!

Shows like this are dangerous because they're telling already scared people that their home is infested with demons with no proof other than a muddled EVP that sounds like someone might be saying they're a demon. Instead of trying to help people, these "investigators" are trying to drum up more business.

Also, they make very tenuous connections. For instance, in the third episode they say Theresa Harrington was a sex worker because she lived on the same street as a known brothel in Butte. And then they change the location from "same street" to "same block" with no proof this is true. And their reasoning for saying she's a sex worker? "There'd be no reason for anyone who was not a sex worker to live on the same block". Seriously??? That would be like saying people who live on the same street as a drug dealer are also drug dealers because their neighbor is a drug dealer.

Don't waste your time with these fools. Not unless you want a good laugh. And don't believe the 10 star ratings, most of those are fake accounts because the only rating those users have are for this show.

Pretty lame
HarleyGnome25 March 2022
So this woman buys a ghost town and apparently can't afford it. So she starts calling out anyone that claims to be a paranormal investigator that can get her on TV and get paid.

Very little evidence of paranormal is uncovered. Don't get me wrong they get "some".

Shows like this upset me
cindyharden-776303 April 2022
I looked it up and they are currently renting rooms. If it was that demonic and scary, why are they renting the cabins to the public. Shows like this , not real or true, really bother me. That is just my opinion.

tsyitee10 April 2022
I question the validity of these "investigators". They take the most basic common sense thing and try to turn it into something evil. Take the dead birds in a house that was abandoned for 50 years. Granted, the bird stuck in the window was a bit odd, but does it mean it was trying to get away from something? Not necessarily. Bones in the pit. Guess what? I'm sure animal bones have been dropped by scavengers. A pic of a hole in the side of a mountain being said it is connected to the evil elsewhere? Do they not know they are in a mining town and "pits" are common place? They are all over Tucson and NOT evil. I can do a better job investigating and I'm not even trained.

Don't listen to the closed-minded reviews.
jstavert-264-25381823 April 2022
All of you nay-sayers talking with selective hearing(viewing, being rational etc.) need to spend some time in a REAL haunted location and go through some of these things yourself. You're not going to change anyone's mind who has already had very easily classified as "paranormal" experience in their lives so just give up already. Parapsychology is real, and so is the paranormal -- whatever "real" is! 😉

Very good documentary with excellent evidence.

Why Sarah?
lildeb-2109415 November 2022
I do like watching the show with regards to everyone but Sarah. How does a so called psychic medium not really see anything through the whole show all she does is try to bring on drama and she's not good at it. I really think the cast members want to help the family of this show, but the main person of the family Karen is a lot dramatic herself that looks fake and takes away from the team really wanting to find out what's going on in this town and to really show the viewers that there really are ghost out there. Karen and Sarah's dramatic ways takes that wake at from the rest of the cast because they make it look like it's not real. I would watch another season of this show if they do not bring back Sarah as a cast member.

Great Show
Lulu1111133 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Tim Wood does an excellent job as lead investigator and is a seasoned professional in the paranormal field. The team works hard to help the family, although at times you wonder if the mother would rather keep the place and herself haunted.

The ranch is a collection of beautiful, old buildings from the old west. It's like a time capsule from the days of vigilante law, prostitution and rough people. My feeling is that there is definitely an open invitation here to a dark haunting especially from the mother who has dabbled in the occult and has a ghost lover named Tom. As another reviewer has mentioned, the animals do look underfed and as an animal lover it irks me to see. If you don't take care of your animals, what else is being swept under the rug.

There is an exorcism that takes place but a majority of the healing can only happen if the participant is willing to let it go. It's my opinion that she isn't ready to rid herself or the place of the problems that plague them.

The show is fascinating and it's nice to see a long term investigation instead of the usual one episode ones that are usually produced. Montana is also beautiful and the townspeople that are interviewed are interesting.

So much potential, but criminally boring Warning: Spoilers
A ghost town, a haunted family, a co-host with actual knowledge of tales of haunting and cryptids across cultures (Sapphire). I was all in on the premise. Unfortunately, the show was instead about the other host, Tim, essentially trying to fit any tiny shred of potential evidence into his ideas about what could be causing issues. He even turns a hacking cough during the time of Covid-19 into evidence of the paranormal. He's also painfully boring as a host, which combined with seeing everything through his own religious beliefs of demons, just sucks the fun and interest out of the show. I fully expected all kinds of interesting info and legends from Sapphire, but so much time was wasted on Tim and his nonsense. And the family - they had to go along with his ridiculous exorcism. A waste of a concept. Maybe another production will do it better.

series for anyone that likes ghost shows
SortedMadness12 April 2022
Season 2 Update -

Really enjoying the new season, still don't understand though why they the psychic on there Sarah, as she seems to be way over dramatic and doesn't really add much at all to the investigation.

Need more investigation and less talking.

Enjoying this series so far as it is quite different than the other series on Travel. I do think that the episodes could have less of the psychic as she seems to be over the top sometimes. Other than that I appreciate a change of pace from the other paranormal series on travel as they seem to redundant.

Updated review. Cant believe there is a Season 2
CinemaSlant20 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Sorry guys. This is a 100% scripted show. The entire location is a movie location that also serves as a bed & breakfast. They have yearly ghost festivals, music festivals. I even doubt this is a real town and its fabricated sets.

A movie from Syfy starring (get this) the Backstreet Boys called Dead 7 was filmed here in 2016. The Montana Film board is very active and all sorts of shows are filmed in the area because of movie tax credits. Enjoy their insta page: I cant link to it just search for Gunslinger Gulch on your social media and here on IMDB.

If you want to pretend this is real...great. Good for you. Enjoy it. But for those of you thinking this isn't a scripted show, well, its proof it is.
