It's always a good episode when the entire regular cast shows up. This one has Kumu (the delightful Amy Hill) trading her always sincere but humorous barbs with Rick (Zachary Knight) and TC (Stephen Hill) when TC runs into a former girlfriend for one night. Knight and Stephen Hill have done some excellent serious episodes this season so it's nice to see them do some more lighthearted scenes in this episode. The more dramatic scenes are with Magnum and Higgins and Katsumoto who are investigating a bombing by a suspected 18 year old, and Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, and Tim Kang are all very good, as are guest stars Parker Queenan as the suspect and Alexie Gilmore, who is very effective as his mother. This storyline enables Hernandez and Weeks to really show off what good actors they are in their roles and how endearing and natural their chemistry can be. Add to the mix the appearance of a notable semi-regular which is always nice. Last week it was Bobby Lee as the indefatigable Jin, and this week it is the lovely Janel Parrish, returning as Maleah. This episode starts off with a bang (literally !) and moves along in fine fashion. The direction is tight and the dialogue quite good, Nicely done by all. This cast works hard and it shows.
