The Cinema Snob (2009)

"Impulse"

In this now long-running series, writer-director Brad Jones play the title character, the Cinema Snob, a mainstream or high art critic who decides to review some of the most notoriously bad movies ever made. Since the original episode this series has grown to have a very high cult following and fans from around the world.

William Shatner's thriller IMPULSE gets the special treatment from The Cinema Snob. The Snob is actually on his way to a 70's film festival when he's kind enough to review this film, which as he later puts it, is pretty much an early version of THE STEPFATHER. The majority of the funny bits come from the Snob spoofing the various 70's clothing that is worn throughout the picture. It's also quite clear that he has a special hatred for the child in the movie and this here is where most of the rants are going to. For the most part this is a good episode but one of the weaker ones up to this point. There are some funny moments but the majority of the stuff dealing with the kid just never gets any laughs.

Episode: B
