This episode managed to make me enjoy it on two fronts.
First, the director--a former Supernatural actor--added tons of SPN Easter eggs into the mix. Having watched that show for years, tripping across such a thing on live tv made me smile.
Second, the show itself kept focused on Walker--which is the most important point & reason we're here, after all.
We didn't get shelved for anything stand alone or insert, played just for fun. The writer moved the story forward and many characters, too.
---
From the Walker front:
I like that we got a thoughtful pull back from Geri (Odette Annable), reacting to the last ep's news.
Do I think it was fair to in any way blame Abby? NO. NOPE. NEVER.
But it was understood.
And my heart tore for Abby (Molly Hagan) & later Cordell (Jared Padalecki), trying to understand that pull back.
---
Also love, love, loved getting more of the story for Cassie (Ashley Perez)
Bless the writer (Katherine Alyse) for smoothly adding in what looks to be a really twisty mystery, as well as keeping Cassie in character--sassy, but sad; smart, yet with a blind spot; angry, but not unhinged.
---
All in all, a smooth episode from all angles.
Good job and a well-deserved ten.
