This is really not feeling like a finale yet...
asterblasterth23 August 2022
I just love this show. Surprisingly enough this show keeps me guessing who the actual murderer is. Of course sometimes it's obvious who isn't the murderer but then you keep guessing who is. It may not be top notch whodunit writing but it's at a level that it keeps you entertained, guessing and interested.

But this show actually isn't about the murder but more about the characters and that's what I Iike most about this show.

And I have to say hats off to Martin and Martin. I mean they are 72 and 77 years old but they still bring this energy as if they are much younger than that. I've been following them for years and they are still great performers.

I was worried that after a fantastic first season the quality of this show would fall off but glad to see that it hasn't. You did it! Me? Sorry I got disoriented. Loved the reveal party.

This show is just a vibe unlike any other show out today. Glad to see there was a setup for season three.

My favorite episode BY FAR
mcelwood23 August 2022
OMITB introduced so many new elements this season, which were all incredibly interesting, but I was slightly afraid the finale was going to leave some of them lost in the mix. I needn't have been the least bit worried, though, because "I Know Who Did It" not only provided a satisfying conclusion for every single plot thread, it also set up a plethora of new ones. This episode was absolutely next-level for the show. The humor was on-point as usual, the story was brilliantly laid-out, every character had their moment to shine, and the ending was a whirlwind of new possibilities. It'll be difficult for OMITB to top itself yet again in season three, but with an ending like this, I am very optimistic for what's in store.

Couldn't Look Away!

My God! This episode was by far the best of the season, if not show. I was just moderately entertained throughout the second season, before this point. It kept my interest, kept me laughing, and opened up a lot of plot points. I worried that several of them wouldn't be answered in the 37 minute finale. I was wrong! OMITB way exceeded my expectations!! It answered all my questions and raised even more! Very well done. Some of the best humor of the season as well. Fantastic episode for OMITB and I'm counting down the days till Season 3!

Near the end brought a tear!
brendasmpt23 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The whole episode was spellbinding and kept you watching, but after the reveal, the conversation between Martin Short & his son brought a tear to my eyes. Whoever wrote that into the show really took the emotion to the next level. I'm so glad that there's going to be another season as well. Was worried it was over. But if they weren't going to bring another season, the episode ended in a great way. Bravo to the writers & producers for creating an enjoyable series!

Plot twist
cosnnum23 August 2022
One of the greatest done plot twist scenes I've ever seen. The plot twist per se was not THAT big, but the scene was awesome.

Great ending to a great season to a great show. It's 2022. It's hard to come up with refreshing stuff, but this show has done it, and this episode has the best scene.

Creative writer, and always avoid the cliches' as much as possible.
asokadyzz23 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Always surprise me, and make use the less talk character in season 1 into main antagonist in season 2. Every episode, i try to predict as always, but always a twist in every ending.

Perfectly Imperfect
alexg2423 August 2022
Those who view this series through the lens of an Agatha Christie novel will always be disappointed, but they are missing the point entirely. Are there plot holes? Without doubt. One could spend hours criticising the implausible revelations and cliffhangers which provide the ending to almost each episode and the link into the next.

However, when viewed as the shamelessly flamboyant comedic murder mystery this show is, you'll struggle to find a more enjoyable series. The interactions and chemistry between the three protagonists is truly heartwarming.

So remove your critic's glasses, pour yourself a large glass of wine and revel in the imperfection.

The last line of the episode is worth watching the entire season!
treyintexas25 August 2022
This is a pretty entertaining show, but this episode is stellar. Probably my favorite of any from the first two seasons.

They spent the season developing the characters, and all that work paid off.

Impeccable! My favourite episode in TV series history.
vincentzheng-14042623 August 2022
Perfect, perfect, perfect! Second-watch it again, and I still cannot find an inkling of drawback in it.

The final episode of Season Two really intertwines the two seasons and completes the storyline in a sophisticated and considerate way. So many unexpected and yet plausible details are all woven together right here! The pace, the acting, the drama, the revelation of the true murderer, the punchlines and the manipulation of the audience's mind and mood... All impeccable!

As a fan of TV series, I, honestly, seriously and viserally! Really dig this episode. So far, together with S2E5 of Euphoria, this is my favourite! Bravo indeed!

Rushed
sbuhrman-7479824 August 2022
With so much set up leading into this finale, it was tough to feel complete by the end. I felt as though they really left some moments fall flat while others were just rushed over completely to get to that last scene setting up season 3.

The comedy was SPOT ON this episode. No joke was missed and the deliveries were fantastic.

Honestly it felt like a slight let down from season 1 finale. My biggest thing is how a show that can muster up a lot of heart in some scenes, left out the satisfaction reveal from everyone who was close to Bunny. The killer was caught, brought to justice, and all of Bunnies closest friends and acquaintances don't really feel a thing after. Just "another job complete" mentality. Less time spent on that so more flash forward scenes can happen to set up the next season.

It was still good, but I believe it was far from their best work. Shows tend to do this a lot more these days. They stop worrying about the now and already start planning what's next.

Extremely disappointing! OMITB, you lost a viewer
Iluvcleanfunnymovies31 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The three stars are for three main actors, because it's not their fault the writing is so crappy.

I have been a loyal fan since episode one as OMITB has been an amazing display of talent and writing. Sadly the show now falls into the snare that most shows fall into... the first season is dynamic and winning, and the second season turns into crap. The reveal of the murder was ridiculous, as they kept showing throughout the season 2 the murderer was clearly a man.

A man's shoes, a man's stride, a man's shoulders, head, a man's sneeze! But it's Poppy??

Right.

I do not like to be baited/ switch.

And mable is friends again with Allison? Who only wants to profit from mable's sad life?

Yeah, right.

I think Mable is a lot smarter than that The end scene with Paul Rudd made zero sense. "I know what you did" ohhh Don't care.

There's no enticement for me to see what happens in season 3, as I already know the ridiculousness will continue.

I'm done.

Great finale and promises another perfect season. I loved that season was like it supposes to be, with mystery, cliffhangers and perfect acting, and the ending was just a beautiful beginning for the 4th season.

Great twist to a great show spoilers ahead
lisafordeay23 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In the season finale of Only Murders In The Building we finally discovered who killed Bunny and why?. Throughout the episode Mabel(Gomez) finally puts two and two together when she remembers what Bunny said about 14 savage.

When I first saw the reveal I literally thought it was either Cara Delavange or Tina Fey but instead the twist took another shock turn and it ended up being Poppy(who was a runaway called Becky Blight).

Ant Man actor Paul Rudd shows up in the end and dies on stage. Now we have to wait till 2023 to find out who killed Ben (Rudd) and why? Could it be Charles(Steve Martin) who was the last person to speak to Ben by saying I know what you did?.

Time will tell.

I thought season 1 was good, oh my word season 2!! I loved the small things that are worked seamlessly into the script "I'm English you tw**", I particularly enjoyed this as this went by so quick and was probably lost on a North American audience.

The script was clever, very well written and it's delivery a masterclass.

Oh and I really liked the yodelling at the end...

But the Title of the Show...
pasadenajones-334-31938326 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this episode... watched it twice. I was just as entertained by reviews harping on the final scene in the theater. The "it doesn't fit in with the name of the show" complaint. I mean, how do we know that theater isn't in the building? They said they were renovating.

Got ya! Just kidding.

The theater murder of Paul Russ's character takes place a year after the Bunny murder reveal party. Paul Rudd has been confirmed for season 3. That means a good chunk of season 3 will take place in that missing year they skipped over. This means Rudd's character will most likely be in the building, interacting with people in the building, and possibly being poisoned while in the building. Even if he is not poisoned in the building, the show on many occasions has mentioned the title "Only Murderers in the Building". So I'm sure Rudd will interact with many people in the building while he is in the building. It still works.

Another Great Season
lakings973 September 2022
Only Murders in the Building: Season 2 on Hulu continues where the first season left off where the threesome are caught in the middle of yet another murder. This season we learn more about the truth of Martin Short's past and that Nathan Lane is truly Martin's son's legitimate parent. Selena Gomez falls for an artist who uses her negativity for her creativity. In the meantime Steve Martin learns that his father cheated on his mother and ended up in a naked picture hanging in their neighbor Bunny Folger's wall. Sting moved out of the building and Amy Schumer moves into his suite. Tina Fey competes with the trio for better podcast stories surrounding the murders in the building. Loved the series and the actors along with the storyline. We definitely know there will be a third season that includes Paul Rudd, can't wait to see how they solve the next murder.

Great mix of silly and sublime
pgrandjean23 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Thought this ep was great fun, and I loved that the writers, or whoever had their hand in this, were careful to remember that-while the central trio are very astute-they're still not the smoothest of crime solvers. (The slo-mo gambit was hilarious and painful at the same time.)

I do have some lingering questions though:

How did the murder weapon and copy of the painting get into Charles' apartment, given that the crime apparently occurred in proximity to Mabel's? I gather that Poppy/Becky planted them later, but that was never confirmed.

Now I'm curious: Was that plant deliberate or random? I'm assuming the former, and I'm wondering if it will play into the next season, in which it looks like Charles is being set up.

We still don't know for sure who poisoned Winnie in season 1, and while not every detail will necessarily get explained, that seems too important to drop. I hope the show is getting to that in the future.

I'm sure I'll think of other q's on repeat viewing . . .

Becky butler
AvionPrince1611 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
We know more about the assisstant of Cinda: Becky Butler and how she disappeared and how she gave the idea of the podcast. And our heroes understand that they are trapped by Cinda and she may be the killer but not sure. And they meet Poppy and try to know how they will counter Cinda and her plan. And the knife make Mabel know more about the meaning of "14 savage". So they tell their suspicions about Cinda but she didnt do it. And now is Alice who is under suspicions and she admit that was her. And Charles get stabbed but my taughts on it make me think that was staged to make Cinda admit that was her. And now its Poppy who is under suspicions and we understand that was her the whole time. And the stabbing was just staged like i predicted but it was Poppy. Clearly her. And Kreps was in the conspiracy too. And things get normal after that: Charles have big audience for his role,. Mabel and Alice renovate the apartment, Oliver tell the truth to his son but he still love him.

Nice final episode and the name of the killer (Becky or poppy?) Was quite surprising and i didnt see that coming really. The "mise en scene" was great: the mix between comedy and Serious work well and create some memorable scenes. And i enjoyed the end. Really nice episode. And at the end, we witnessed a new murder on stage. And that make a great start for season 3. Another murder in the building. Another usually day with that TV show.

Only Nonsense stories in the building!
Laqshayaroraofficial23 August 2022
I think this was the worst episode of this series, I really thought this season was way better than the 1st one but this episode ruined everything, obviously everyone knows they will kill someone in the end so to find the killer of that person in the next season but did they forgot the name of this show? (This is all I can say in a spoiler free review). Also the finale felt really rushed, it felt like the writers were given a deadline and they wrote all the nonsense mystery they could imagine. Terrible episode and a waste of my time. Only the cast is saving this show, also I loved the performance of the girl who played the role of Poppy.

Dramatic and satisfying
xsgpjhz24 August 2022
The finale closed all the threads laid out throughout the season and the set up is perfectly dramatic and thrilling. The suspense reveal was perfect and the ending to the new beginning (s3) was too good.

All the 3 lead characters are excellent- Selena Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin- just brilliant.

Kudos to the entire cast and crew. Excited for season 3.

Had me in the first half
Honestly, this season took a U turn for me. I was really expecting mediocrity and silly meta jokes but once again Only murderers has done it.

I feel like the groupies following the trio, right on the edge of my seat trying to figure: who did it.

I really loved the twists and turns, and the display that this group is genuinely a trio of smart, tricky, talk eyed and curious detectives. Almost going for that Hardy Boys theme. But overall a great ending to a season, I'm extremely excited for season 3, i really hope this series can continue amping the production and cast.

Also, +1 for Paul Rudd

10/10.
