An elderly woman Mrs Ivy Wrangton, aged 92 dies, suddenly, was it her time to die, or was she helped along?
I am a fan of this story, it may not be the most dynamic production, but it does deal with some very serious issues, at what age to people suddenly become a burden, and why do loved ones suddenly atop caring.
This first episode has some jolly moments, but it changes up with the death, and soon becomes quite a dark tale of ageism and murder. Ivy is quite literally an Unwanted Woman.
Even Reg, a man who's not one to overlook anything is quick to dismiss her death as natural causes.
Madeleine Christie is delightful as Ivy.
It's a very good start. 8/10.
