Good, if I understand everything
javymendes2 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
OK. I'll try to write some things here to see if I understand everything hahah (some may be unexpectedly)

1. The tape that Bernard and the people who make them wear has always been a worse quality. Mechanics is much better.

2. Contrary to what he thought, the apocalyptic world was true, only the world of the helmet's vision was false, precisely to encourage the crowd to clean the camera. Since the majority who left think everything is fine out there, you show that everything is fine, Of course they will want everyone to see that everything is fine.

3. So the poisonous gas in the atmosphere is real (even because there is no vegetation) But as people always went with the bad tape given, gas always got into their clothes. Now with Jules with the good tape she's hermetically sealed until her oxygen supply runs out. It remains to be seen how long it lasts and how she will make it back.

4. There is not ONE silo, but many and many. This makes me think of two questions:

5. Does the hd and Bernard's key at the end have number 18 does that mean that is silo number 18? Probably yes.

6. Is the big hole George found a) a laterally unfinished silo OR b) are they just under another silo?

7. George said he found another door there in the water. Then there must be a secret link between the silos. Perhaps not on purpose, but part of the time of its construction. And I'm thinking that's where Juliette will come back.

8. I got the impression that Bernard didn't know about the gate that George thought? Didn't you find it? If so, maybe not even Bernard knows the whole truth. He may be a pact fell like the others in Juridico, he knows a little more than everyone else, but he's still a fell that doesn't really know everything.

9. But he went to the "Server Room" anyway, is that where he talks to other silos? Or is it something from the innermost command still within the silo itself.

10. Finally, you can't go much further than that to think.. because a revolt in the silo now doesn't seem to be about getting out but about controlling inside. It would just be a change of leader.

Good thing they renewed it for next season.

Loved it and loved the books
tim-Chinchen2 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What a great ending to S1, I rad the books a while back and it's great to see this on screen!

A few spoilers just to help with some of the questions if I recall correctly - you would have heard them talk about the quality of the tape - that's why no one lasted long outside - because the tape was inferior so IT and those in on it knew Cleaners would only last so long & that's why Juliette hasn't succumbed. The projection into the helmet is what Juliette uncovered on the hard drive not the real world - that's why it was labelled as XXX's clean - that's why they always clean - the world is still in a terrible shape.

They aren't other entrances to the same silo, hopefully everyone's spots the number 18 on the key Bernard looks after! (What is it with the secrecy surrounding characters called Bernard!! LOL)

Great series massively looking forward to S2 because now it's going to get much more interesting and the character count is going to have to go up! ;-)

Season One is half of the first book in the Wool series.
cbm-52 July 2023
To everyone complaining about how this first season ended, keep in mind that season one of Silo covers just about the first half of the first book in the series, Wool. It stopped at a reasonable point, IMO. There was a major section break in the book at just about the same point.

I have a few quibbles with the adaptation, but overall I think that this is good television. Any comparison with Lost and other "mystery box" shows that don't know where they're headed is way off-base. Despite the changes they are sticking reasonably close to the book, so I have no worry that they are going to go off on a giant tangent. There is a known end point.

Solid finish to S1
FilmBrat1051 July 2023
As someone who is not familiar with the source material, I cannot make my review based on that, so I found this finale to be a solid finish to an overall wonderfully mysterious first season. This episode wraps up a few loose ends, answers a couple questions while presenting new ones to be answered in future seasons, and establishes just how little we (non-readers) still know about the lore. This adds a lot of potential and anticipation for it's second season. Rebecca Ferguson is excellent as Juliette and I'm very fascinated with her character whenever she's on screen. Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche are all great in their roles as well, though I'm not quite sold on Common yet. The last few episodes were gripping enough, but this finale really drove it home. I think this is Apple TV's next hit!

A finale like very few others.
kislevido30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It is very rare for a TV show to be a good adaptation of an existing material. It is even more rare to be somewhat innovative and surprising for those who already read the original material. But it's almost impossible to find a TV show that does all that while creating a world as we've never seen on television before, and with a grand finale from the kind we will remember and get shivers from for years. In the short list of the TV shows that have done all that, are Game of Thrones and Westworld. The list of those who failed is endless. Today, Silo enters that first short list, and it is the first one for Apple in this category.

Even for an original series, which in part it is (since the show created a lot of changes to the source material), Silo is one of the most brilliant that we've seen this decade so far, along with Severance, House of the Dragon, and The Last Of Us. And if I know two things about Apple's TV shows, is that they always have like 3 episodes in the middle of the first season that aren't exactly underwhelming (Foundation, Severance, See, For All Mankind), and that they always managed to surpass themselves on the next season (For All Mankind, The Morning Show). So as in Silo, episodes 4-6 were under-cooked, I fully expect the next season to be one of the most overwhelming television events of the decade.

We do not know why are we here. We do not know who built the Silo. We do not know why everything outside the Silo is as it is. We do not know when it will be safe to go outside. We only know that that day, is finally today.

Well done transfer
imdb-co-syspod1 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A fantastic end to a well-done book to film transfer. Several of the re-ordered events made me worried that they would spoil the rest of the story, but the season finale was a fantastic lead-up. Rebecca Ferguson has shouldered the lion-share of the emotional weight of the story and has done a bang-up job. Tim Robbins' character (Bernard) differs from the source material and started off a bit weak, but as the series progressed both the scripting and his acting hit a stride and gained much needed depth. For those of you worried that the fantastic first season can only go downhill, assuming they keep to the source, you have only begun to climb the hill!

Season 1 (9/10 stars): A Well-Acted Mystery & Character Drama With Room To Grow
zkonedog6 July 2023
Upon watching the first episode of "Silo", I was immediately hooked by its stable of solid actors and mysterious nature. Though it doesn't quite put the pedal to the metal like most "prestige dramas" of current ilk, the trade-off is that its slow-burn nature allows immense room for growth going forward.

For a very basic overview, "Silo" tells the story of a group of people living in an underground spiral bunker known as The Silo. Civilization has been below ground for quite some time, with silo leadership--like Bernard (Tim Robbins) & Robert (Common)--and historical documents all stating that the air above-ground is poisoned and no longer fit for life. But Deputy Marnes (Will Patton), fellow officer Paul Billings (Chinaza Uche), mechanical grunt Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson, and tech geek George Wilkins (Ferdinand Kingsley) are all presented evidence to the contrary. Is silo-ing truly the only way of life--or are the lies stacked so deep it's difficult to get to the truth?

The hallmark of "Silo" is that it is a gigantic mystery--and one that plays off of very relevant societal themes. Mistrust of government, class structure, and technological espionage are all commonly-referenced themes here. Show creator Graham Yost chooses to slow-play these themes over this first season's 10 episode, so it sometimes feels a bit different than most current race-out-of-the-gate dramas. But overall I can't knock the approach too much because it allows some breathing room for characters to grow organically.

Speaking of characters, "Silo" boasts a deep pool of acting talent that keeps it compelling even when the plot elements tread water from time to time. Again, the writers/producers make some surprising (perhaps even controversial) decisions when it comes to character utilization, but it is all in service of an overall goal which is of course yet to be fully decided/known.

For me, "Silo" began with a 10/10 effort and ended in the exact same fashion. In between it may have dipped a little from time to time--but I also never rated a single episode less than 7/10 stars. As such, I land on a 9/10 overall for Season One. A compelling mystery and character drama that has not in any way boxed itself in from further success (a second season has already been green-lit).

WHAT!
charlieedmond30 June 2023
Damn, its been too long since a show concluded on a season ending that felt earned, that left me with curiosity and didn't feel like a forced cliff hanger.

I have a feeling all the people who worked on Silo are going to be well known in the industry, this series honestly, needs to be most watched. This ending concluded on several plot points but also expanded on so many others! I think this is the best way to conclude a season without allowing for potential writers bloat, which so many other mystery series are suffering from.

The central plot remains the key focus. Every other sub plot is connected to the central plot and this way, consequently there is next to no filler in Silo, because every story is connected as was shown in this season finale. I'm so darn happy about that, by watching Silo, you need not worry about someone uncle having problems with their car's engine despite it having literally no relevance to the central plot.

There's only one question left, will you Clean?

The last episode of Silo was an incredible ride from start to finish. The tension and suspense built up throughout the season reached a stunning climax in the final episode, leaving me completely captivated. The final scene was particularly gripping, leaving me with so many questions and theories about what could happen next. The subtle hints and clues planted throughout the season finally came together to create a tantalizing mystery that I can't wait to see unfold in the next season. Overall, Silo season 1 was a beautiful ride, and the finale was the perfect way to end it. Can't wait for the next season.

Simply Phenomenal.
jzersche30 June 2023
Silo can only be described as none other than simply phenomenal. This masterpiece of storytelling transcends boundaries, offering an immersive and unforgettable experience that captivated me from the very first episode.

The intricate and multi-layered plot kept me on the edge of my seat, constantly craving more. Each episode was expertly crafted, seamlessly blending suspense, drama, and unexpected twists that left me on the edge of my seat. The narrative unfolded with precision, offering a perfect balance of character development, gripping conflicts, and thought-provoking themes.

The actors' performances were nothing short of extraordinary, breathing life into their characters with depth and authenticity. Their chemistry and talent were palpable, creating a cohesive and believable on-screen world. Each character was meticulously crafted, allowing the audience to form deep connections and emotional investments that heightened the impact of every moment.

Visually stunning and technically flawless, the production quality of this show is unparalleled. The attention to detail in the set designs, costumes, and visual effects was awe-inspiring. From breathtaking landscapes to intricately designed sets, every frame was a feast for the eyes. The cinematography expertly captured the show's atmosphere, enhancing the overall experience and drawing me further into its mesmerizing universe.

Great series - great finale - secret revealed
johnlhaynes13 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Both displays are false The desolate, poisonous display is a lie, a constructed view. Even the wonderful, bright, inviting display is a lie. The tree never grows, and the same flock of birds flies by in every view.

The tape is the secret. And Juliet knows, Walker knows., The special tape allows the rulers to show a synthesized view of those that leave the silo, just as tracking markers are used for special effects in CGI created scenes. The tape is the "Easter egg" that follows Jules character - her first violation was stealing special tape.

This large a lie is very difficult to keep secret, and that's why they are very careful to use birth control to develop a population free of people with inquiring minds.

The plot twist at the end of season one was completely unexpected for those of us who haven't read the book. The fact that there are apparently many silos caught me by surprise.

This should have been episode 3 or 4
suranyigabor2 July 2023
The only real interesting part of this show is the outside and why they are trapped in a silo, everything else is just delaying the plot and wasting your time. World building clould be done in 1 episode, introducing the characters another episode, some random drama 1 episode, the rest should be the main plot. This should have been a limited 10 episode series consiting of relevant episodes but they've dragged the living daylight out of season 1. Only the overall plot is interesting so at least 6 episodes could have been scrapped entirely. Has zero rewatch value. Shows have to be a lot tighter than this. To recap the show before season 2 you can easily just watch the first and the last episode of this season as the rest were just fillers barely able to hold you attention.

This was a good episode but the 7 before weren't, unbalanced mess, it's not cop show from the early 2000s designed to go on forever so why write it like that?

It was not what I expected
gwildia30 June 2023
I must say upfront that I have not read or knew the book and I am judging only the series.

In my opinion the series was just cut in half with this ending. There are more questions then there were in episode one. But episode one has the advantage of having entire series to answer those questions and now the questions will not be answered until probably one or two years from now plus 2 months of streaming. I am disappointed. I was enjoying the show and it was just the right tempo and everything but this finale could've been shorter to make room for every introduced character to end their story and not just leave them in the middle of their journey.

Disappointed.

The truth is out there
ququrico30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Silo is yet another variation of Plato's Cave allegory. Others have dramatized this before of course. Dark City, The Matrix and Severance, are relatively recent successful ones. Many interpretations are valid here, from fascism (power is centralized through a lie that instills fear, order and obedience), all the way to Marxism (a class struggle, in which the elite exploits the proletariat through false consciousness). While the Silo adds nothing significant to that root narrative, it is well executed and played. Much like it predecessors (The Matrix being a prime example) there is absolutely no need for season 2+, since from here it can only go down hill the soap opera way, and nobody wants that.

Outstanding show overall
xvczjwpz1 July 2023
It's been quite awhile since I've watched a show that truly keeps me on the edge of my seat. Silo more than delivers on every single level. Perhaps not suited to everyone's taste- but perfectly suited to mine. I want more Now.

I understand that not everyone likes post apocalyptic mysteries, but if you do this show will blow you aeay. Outstanding performances by incredible actors- excellent cinematography, great writing. All of it. The total package.

Not every single episode has wowed me- there are definitely some lulls in the narrative and the love story between George and Juliette does become tiresome.

But the overall story has me fully hooked and desperately wanting more.

Need the next season asap
tykoruneberg30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The very ending left me slightly confused. Is the outside world actually deserted and dead (except for the city in the background)?

Also the number of similar circular pads with one camera could mean that there are other similar underground worlds, or just that they have multiple exits?

There was one point in one of the episodes where the people saw a quick flash of the green world, but nobody mentioned or asked any questions about that?

Have enjoyed the series overall without pervious knowledge of the books. The middle of the season was a bit slow at points, but it nicely picked up the pace towards the end.

Loved it though and can't wait for the next season!

Silo's
aboalhyjaa30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What an episode and what a show! One of the best in the whole year. It started slowly and then began getting better with each episode and with every secret they answered another question is asked.

The ending of the episode is a mystery if im being honest. How did she not have the same effects on her just like the people before her? And many questions to ask but my review is spoiler free so ill just stick to that.

The visuals are great, the performances by the leading actors made me wish its a 20 episode show.

Now here comes the challenge though, with the world growing bigger and the fan base now is wider, will Apple+ be able to stand the level they're on or even make it better? We're gonna have to wait to see.

The display is a lie!
robloxworld2 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Rebecca Ferguson especially but every actor, actress carried the show. This show is so captivating and interesting that I am so happy that this got the love it deserved. This is a well thought out world with a well thought out plot, this can go so many ways now. What happens in the other silos? What is that big city in the background? Who exactly is Bernald? Will everyone want to go out after this? Everyone who left the Silo died regardless, why not Juliette? Is she immune to something? What did Walk do? I don't know how this will continue but perhaps we learn more about more stuff. Since as interestimg and thrilling this first season was it felt like we only know the surface, this can go so many more ways now. Please make Season 2 release early 2024, I want so much more! ^^

Episode 10
bobcobb30114 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This show has been a little bit uneven, but I think they wrapped things up well in the final few moments and gave us the kind of sci-fi thrill we needed.

I did not expect at all the final visual and they will get us talking until season two about what it might be. Are there multiple silos? Will she survive? What did she avoid to survive?

I think that they need something shocking to happen in season two and not just revisit the same kind of plots we got here, but I am also worried that could isolate some fans.

Decent finale, but this show does not quite hold up to some of the iconic shows in history.

phew, finally made it
nerrdrage23 January 2024
For those of you who haven't started watching this series, my advice is to watch the first two episodes and then skip to the finale. The bulk of this season is egregiously padded with an uninteresting murder mystery that isn't even germane to the point of the season, namely: Juliette finally goes outside and we see what is really going on out there.

What she sees is pretty interesting and not an obvious twist, so it could set up a season 2 that will be better than the painful slog of season 1. But it would really help if they hire some better actors because most of the current cast just isn't interesting enough, particularly if the writing is going to be so padded and slow. Tim Robbins can't carry this show on his own.

Hmm...Not bad, actually
rebekahlorenz4 July 2023
This was actually, kind of, an unexpected twist ending. Even though the tension built during the season wasn't as compelling as I would have liked, the pacing often left something to be desired, and the payoff wasn't as satisfying as I wish it would have been, this finale effectively redeemed the entire season for me. There's been a marked difference recently, in TV shows that have pre-written source material and those that don't. And the fact that this story already has a intended ending is an absolute plus in my book. I've become disenchanted with "mystery box" shows, as of late, where the writers make things up as they go along. It seems to become a weird, drunken, choose-your-own-adventure game, where the characters make irrational and out-of-character choices, and the episodes become increasingly disconnected from the story that was promised at the beginning. It can quickly start to feel like a manipulative, disrespectful, and dishonest money grab. So, after the many recent disappointing second seasons, where they go off the rails, don't make sense, or fail to answer basic questions while adding more questions (looking at you Yellowjackets and From), this Season 1 finale was a breath of fresh air. I can actually say that I feel good about tuning in for Season 2. Which, for me, might be the biggest suprise twist of all.

Worst acting from supporting cast I've seen in a long time
This show had me from the start, the first 2 episodes REALLY locked me in instantly. What could be outside of the silo? Why would the people hide the truth? It was gripping and intelligent. Then came the next 7 episodes. Almost pure filler and not only did we not learn one thing aside from there are huge secrets. Nothing was solved. That aside, the real problem I have is with the acting from Common and Tim Robbins (who I'm a huge fan of btw). They are not believable in the slightest and it really detracts from the show and the other actors. It ripped me right out of the immersion. I really wish this show had given us a little bit more in episodes 3-9 and still will watch it but these problems have damaged an otherwise incredible plot.

No questions answered....
bernddasbrotdtm30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Why are relics forbidden? Why are magnifying glasses forbidden?

Why is the Projection a lie? What is it outside now? What at all is going on in this Silo?

These Questions will not be answered, not a single bit.

All these questions you had from Episode 1 and 2 are not further elaborated. Your knowledge at the end of this finale is the same as the end of episode 2.

Oh wait, her boyfriend did actually kill himself.... to not get tortured for the location of the hard drive and after that gets killed by cleaning the windows. So it makes absolutely no difference that they showed her his "suicide", because they would have tortured and kill him afterwards anyways.

Why is she alive outside now? She put the sheriff badge on a (hologram projector?!) and that saves her?

I mean these are "Lost" levels of generating interest in whats going on and answering NOTHING.

If no 2. Season were announced, I would rate this episode a 2/10.

It's actually a bit insulting, the characters and actors are great, the setting, the production, everything is really good produced. But this is nearly 1 half of a season.

My dissatisfaction is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Very good ending that doesn't require another season Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this episode apart from that disposal scene it was almost perfect writing. This might sound strange, but I am actually hoping they do not make a season 2. Because what would be the point.

Juliet is very compelling in the whole season. Though some scenes are just a bit outrageous like episode 3 Machines.

The dread we all see in the last 3 minutes really sums up this show. Reminded me so much of Dark City, What we shouldn't see we really shouldn't see.

Somehow I do feel that there will be a 2nd season that maybe will tackle a different story about the Silo possibly. Not a continuation of this one!
