Warning: Spoilers
Following the death of Jiraiya, Pain ends up pondering that if the Sannin would have known his secret, he would have been defeated. Zetsu appears and both Akatsuki admit this way an unexpected delay. Pain knows he has the order to capture Naruto soon, while Zetsu tells him that he'll go to watch another fight. Pain's revelation is kind of saddening, and the future proves it. He said the truth, at the end, by knowing Pain's secret from the beginning, Jiraiya would have defeated him without doubt.

The fight Zetsu wants to see is Itachi vs Sasuke. The Hebi team reaches a hideout of Akatsuki, and Sasuke goes there alone. He meets Itachi, and lets him known how stronger he became, while using the reformed chidori. Itachi recognizes it, and says his brother is now taller. Sasuke instead tells how he still has those cold eyes, and that he has no idea the hate he has been keeping, the power obtained because of it. Itachi finally reveals himself as a crow clone, and tells him to go alone to the Uchiha lair. Then, Sasuke orders his team to follow him there. This part showed what Itachi wanted to take care of when he talked to Naruto. And the words they said, show two different brothers, the older who is glad to see the younger and how much he grew, and the younger, who only lives with hate and desire of revenge. Itachi hides his emotions, but in his words is proven that he loves his brother.

In the meantime, Naruto and his clones finish dismissing the false Sasuke's trails on the south, and keeps moving along Sakura and Kakashi in a new direction. When Kiba tells him not to get depressed and reminds him his ninja way (I'd like to say that Naruto felt deep down the death of his sensei), with Sakura's support, Naruto makes more clones and keeps the pursuit. Soon, one of the clones finds Sasuke and his team, but is eliminated with a chidori. Naruto inmediatly realizes where the Uchiha is, while Sasuke simply thinks about how stubborn is his former teammate. Karin realizes that what she feels is a lot of clones moving in the forest. Later, they reach the roof of some buildings, and Kisame stops them. He accorded with Itachi that only Sasuke would be allowed to follow. The Uchiha agrees despite Karin's protests, and goes to meet Itachi. Then, Suigetsu and Kisame remember each other from their past in the Hidden Mist Village, and start a "fight" with their swords to pass the time. Jugo talks with the animals to check there's no more enemies around. And Karin realizes that Konoha teams stopped. Naruto and company are stopped by Tobi. The Akatsuki now uses his playful personality and is decided to stop them to let Sasuke and Itachi have their encounter. They all stare at Tobi with precaution, but Naruto tries to surprise him from behind. Tobi easily dodges the rasengan, and evades each one of Naruto's attacks. The others look at them, trying to analyze Tobi's technique. Kakashi doesn't recognize him, as the new Akatsuki wasn't in Kabuto's list of members. Tobi keeps making jokes and finally punches Naruto, who falls to a small lake. Hinata gets worried and is glad when he gets up. Sakura lectures her to stay focused on the enemy, Naruto knows how to deal with this kind of fights alone. Yamato orders to use formation B, and when Naruto seems to lose patience with Tobi's teasing attitude, Sakura tranquilizes him in order to prepare the formation. They prepare, so Sakura throws Naruto to the air as a distraction, while Kakashi, Kiba and then herself reach Tobi. The Akatsuki evades them all, and pretends to be surprised when Naruto once again attacks him with a rasengan. When Tobi calmly reappears thanks to a technique that uses the ground, Konoha teams change the formation. They try to surpass him to continue the chase, they realized that Tobi is delaying them, but the enemy stops each one of them. This part of the episode was sort of entertaining but nothing too serious. Tobi's joking and false attitude, combined with his technique becomes annoying at some point. What's interesting is how focused he is on Sasuke. Previously he was pondering about if the young Uchiha will stay like a serpent or become a hawk. Tobi is interested in Sasuke for some reasons that should be connected to Madara Uchiha. Then, a strange question is his identity. As a spoiler, Tobi is actually Obito Uchiha, who seemingly survived the crushing rocks thanks to the same ability he is showing on this episode. But Kakashi, who has a good nose, didn't recognize a familiar smell in Tobi. The Uchiha grew up without doubt, but the essence, smell shouldn't change much no matter how much time passes. About Hebi team, I still dislike Karin's crush over Sasuke, that's something Naruto's story has repeated over and over again. Suigetsu's fight with Kisame is just another delay. Kisame however, remains a good character. Looks like he agreed and let Itachi ends his awaited battle with Sasuke. This is not something other Akatsuki member would do easily, it shows that Kisame understands that the Uchiha have family business to deal alone. He respects Itachi. To finish, I want to remark Sakura's interventions. Looks like she was paying attention to eveything, and her lecture to Hinata imply some things. First, she knows Naruto better than Hinata does. Second, she wants to protect her by making her pay attention to the enemy and not get distracted easily. This is something Sakura surely learned from Tsunade. And third, the lecture could mean a bit of jealousy, considering that Sakura is usually the first girl next to Naruto, the one who knows him better. Then, seeing her calming him down, placing a hand over his shoulder, also backs up what I wrote. Once again, Sakura is the one for Naruto.
