Not amazing

It was an experience; I had a few significant issues with this show. The first being the captain and his son and even Doc didn't need to be there. They did no work and didn't bring anything to the show or the crew. I also take issue with how scripted it was and clearly, they added in a few dramatic scenes that never happened since let's be honest they hardly found any diamonds. And then there was Sam getting his hand stuck in the vacuum while in the water. And despite the vacuum being on and it should have sucked the blood away from his hand, it didn't it spread in the water around him. Then followed by the crew who are meant to be 100 meters above him see the blood from this tiny little scrape on his hand on the surface. Then pull him up into the boat there is blood all over the place, and the next day he didn't even have a scratch or bandage on his hand, yet the whole thing took up a solid 20 minutes in an episode

It was significantly over dramatised but we hung around to see if they actually made any money.

Quite liked this show but only because I can relate as I dived for diamonds in Namibia and Angola back in the day. Unfortunately the characters ego's are cringe worthy to say the least. And why does the American flag have to displayed wherever these Americans go? Capt John and his son are a Joke and would have been laughed out of the country by the offshore diamond industry of southern Africa.I'm surprised their big heads fitted inside the plane.

I watched it because I used to live in that area working on a De Beers onshore diamond mine. We used to have divers working in the surf zone from the shore. Tough as nails, nothing like this shower of whiners. But it just got worse and worse until they were just making stuff up. Hand caught in the vacuum but blood drifting out, a hundred foot cliff on the shore, there is none I guarantee you, white sharks and they show you a ragged tooth, wild animals may be in the bush LOL this is not the Africa from the 1800s, maybe Americans still think lions roam but I am afraid not, a stray dog maybe. Complete fabrication.

Horribly Painful

For those who enjoy good documentary material, this circus of drama is not for you. If you think you might enjoy a soap opera of fat old greedy losers making some kind last ditch effort to be worth something in their lives, it may be entertaining. As documentary material, I can't stand to watch it any more. Documentary it's not. I was hoping for a real documentary about this subject.

This program seems to revolve around some boat owners who got hoodwinked by some old uneducated bar brawlers. Desperate to grab money by any means possible, they clearly have none of the skills they claim, and if at all, could only be bottom level "six pack" captains, a status that means little and is easy to obtain with any small boat. It would appear the only polished skill they have developed their entire lives is getting drunk and bellowing like old fools. It gets so insanely silly that they feel they are the only ones capable of piloting a simple rubber raft. Their offspring have learned well, and exhibit the same ability to bellow like an ignorant fool. In the end, what we see is opposite of what is heard. No discernible productive skills, nearly no productivity, constant attacks and brawling, and a level of arrogance and fake drama that is unsurpassed. These guys are one of most horrible packs of pecking old hens I've ever seen. A tiny voice of good sense can only be heard from the cook. Maybe this is the intended entertainment in this series? A pack of old women that squabble and whine incessantly? For me, watching a pack of useless old blow-hards display their desperation in their old age is not entertaining. I feel sorry for the boat owners who have fallen victim to the lies of these drunks and bar brawlers. These old guys are desperate crooks and will rob them blind.

Perhaps someone else may see this differently? I've seen 100s of guys like these. Keep the two young divers and feed the rest of them to the sharks. :oD
