While other actors who gain popularity usually turn their backs on the horror genre considering it "beneath them", Chloe Moretz, (Carrie, Dark Shadows, Let Me In) seems to just revel in it, and we love her for it! And now ... it's time to really play dead!
According to Variety Moretz is in negotiations to play a zombie alongside Paddy Considine in Maggie, which Inferno Entertainment will finance and handle international sales for at Cannes. Commercial helmer Henry Hobson will make his feature directorial debut working with a Black List script from John Scott 3.
Set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse, the story concerns a father's unconditional love for his daughter. Considine is in talks to play the father, while Moretz would play his titular daughter.
Pierre-Ange Le Pogam is producing the $10 million film, which is scheduled to start production in September. Matthew Baer and Trevor Kaufman will co-produce.

Chloe Moretz is an old hand at the horror genre by now, but now she's really getting into the gore by signing on for the eponymous role in "Carrie."
Although there's been a sequel, a TV movie, a remake and even an off-Broadway musical about our favorite telepathic teen, MGM started the wheels turning on a remake last spring. "Carrie" author Stephen King offhandedly suggested Lindsay Lohan for the lead back in 2011, but the studio and director Kimberly Peirce reportedly (and wisely) had their beating hearts set on Moretz from the get-go.
Sissy Spacek snagged an Oscar nom for her blood-soaked performance in the original. Piper Laurie, the go-to actress for terrifying mothers on film, played Carrie's hyper religious mom who reprimanded her for showing her "dirty pillows" in her prom dress. It will be interesting to see who they cast for that juicy role.
