A smile from a rose

It's always difficult to fit a good story into two minutes. However, in this one they come really close. First of all, I like the visuals a lot. The freckled girl with ginger hair was exactly the right choice, as was the red dress fitting the red rose and its petals perfectly. They say a score is usually the best when you don't recognize it and this is certainly the case here. It's very simple, yet kinda catchy.

Finally, there's something mysterious, yet thoroughly captivating, about the girl and consequently the short film as a whole, which is the perfect way to work a piece of this length and dealing with the problem of creating a story in such short time. We know we only scratch the surface, but it's perfect that way as the mystery could vanish if we dig deeper. The girl slightly panicking, the crow sounds... it all works out. It's a very artistic and romantic piece of movie-making, so it may probably not appeal to everyone, particularly rationalists, but I thought it was really good and easily recommend it.
