It's okay

More than just a hobby, a true passion for most men...cars, specially old models. This feature presentation, one of the few bonus specials of "Gran Torino" DVD reveals a little about this passion and the commitment collectors and owners have about their classic cars just Walt Kowalski had with his amazing 1972 car. The title is a little misleading since it doesn't show anything factual or historical about the Gran Torino, just some brief mentions. The focus of the short film is to give voice to anonymous collectors talking about their relations with their cars, what impels them to spend lots of money, care and treasure their marvelous objects of desire.

Honestly, I didn't get much from this piece, I'm not so enthusiastic about cars except admiring classic models or rarities we don't see every day. It's informative, offers a different perspective about the topic but that's it. Interesting to see the fair/parade with vintage models, somewhere in U.S. and the attendees talking about what drove them to their commitment to cars. Their enthusiasm made this little film worth seeing and it's a nice suggestion.

Not sure how the "Gran Torino" DVD was presented around the world in terms of bonus material - here, there's only two documentaries, one of them is this one and skimming through the site I've seen there's a longer documentary about the making of. Well, that's exactly what I wanted. Something simple but gripping just like "Mystic River: From Page to Screen" was, the usual cast and director interviews, which is very compelling. 6/10
