The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, a bounty hunter who creates an unexpected bond with a baby alien named Grogu (formerly known as “Baby Yoda”). But the series has expanded a lot since that fairly straightforward premise, bringing in TV veterans like Katee Sackhoff. But how much is the actor who plays Bo-Katan Kryze actually worth? Let’s find out.
Katee Sackhoff had humble beginnings before her acting career
These days, Sackhoff might be making waves in the “galaxy far, far away.” But she wasn’t always such a fan-favorite star. In fact, as she told fans during a 2020 live Q&a, her entire household relied on her mother’s modest income when Sackhoff was a child.
“I absolutely know what it looks like to stick with something because of finances. My mom was a teacher. She made, with a Master’s degree, $30,000 a year. She taught for 34 years,...

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is going out with a bang, and that includes the crossover fans have been longing for! On Dec. 11, Netflix released a clip from the upcoming final installment that sees Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea reprise their iconic roles as Aunt Zelda and Aunt Hilda from the '90s classic sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch - but with a twist! In the short video, Sabrina is understandably surprised by her aunties "new" look and slowly realizes that while some things may look oddly familiar, something is amiss.
We don't know what's going down in Greendale, or where our beloved versions of Aunt Zelda and Aunt Hilda are, by Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis, respectively, but we're excited to find out! Part four of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina follows the arrival of the Eldritch Terrors as they descend upon Greendale. Sabrina and her pack of misfit witches, warlocks,...

In Part 4 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea reprise their roles as Aunt Zelda and Aunt Hilda. But wait, there’s more.

Sabrina’s Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda will be looking a lot different (but probably very familiar) to Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” fans when Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick — who played Melissa Joan Hart’s aunties on the ’90s sitcom “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” — take on the roles for an episode of the show’s upcoming fourth and final season.
In a preview clip from Season 4 of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” which you can view above, you’ll see Broderick and Rhea reprise their iconic parts with a twist, as they are apparently the “aunts” of Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) in an alternate universe where her life is a TV show, complete with laugh track.

An important part of Netflix's Selena: The Series is her heart-wrenching romance with her band's guitarist Chris Pérez, their secret relationship, and their eventual marriage, which lasted three years until the singer's untimely death. Although Quintanilla's father famously disapproved of their relationship, Pérez had a hand in the band's hits, collaborating with Selena's brother on songwriting, and he undoubtedly fell deeply in love with the late icon. But fast-forward to today, and Pérez isn't nearly as close to the family as he once was – reportedly, to the point that he had no idea the new Netflix series was being produced. In fact, on his Instagram, Pérez posted a photo of actor Jesse Posey who plays Pérez in the series, with the caption: "For the record, never met him, haven't seen the script, and I have No idea what is going on... but, I'd love to find out."

Next year, Blumhouse belatedly delivers Halloween Kills, the second part in their trilogy of Michael Myers movies. 2018’s Halloween was the first installment in the original series – we’re not counting the Rob Zombie remake and its sequel – since 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection. But, once upon a time, there was another film in the franchise that was supposed to be made in the middle – Halloween: The Missing Years.
The brainchild of screenwriter Jake Wade Wall, this would’ve been the next movie after Resurrection but, chronologically, it’d be a prequel. Wall’s idea was to fill in the blanks of the killer’s life, both in terms of his childhood and exploring what exactly happened to him during the events of Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, which is unique for being the only Halloween pic that Michael’s not in and Wall’s film would have explained why.

Lesotho has entered the Academy Awards race for the first time with the selection of Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese’s “This Is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection” for best international feature film at the 2021 Oscars, Variety has learned.

The widow’s desire to protect her home — and the cemetery where her family members are buried — sparks a resistance movement in her community, while exposing the fault lines in a country torn between an agrarian past and a relentless push for development.

In a few years, David Gordon Green’s Halloween is going to have a lot to answer for. Ever since the filmmaker brought Michael Myers back to the big screen by disregarding the rest of the franchise and crafting a direct follow-up to John Carpenter’s classic 1978 original, countless others in the industry have intimated that they want to achieve something similar with their own properties, and even the team behind 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have recently voiced a desire to mimic the success of the rejuvenated slasher series.

One of the more heartbreaking cancellations that Netflix has made over the past few months is culling Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The Riverdale spinoff that offers a bold new take on the classic Sabrina the Teenage Witch character has earned itself a lot of acclaim and a loyal fanbase, but the streaming giant nevertheless decided to call it a day on the popular show. Thankfully, we’ve still got the fourth and final season to come and this morning, Netflix unveiled our first look at Part 4 with a new promo.
The trailer teases the return of Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina Spellman as she prepares to fight the forces of hell along with the rest of the Spellman clan – her cousin Ambrose (Chance Perdomo) and aunts Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Zelda (Miranda Otto). So far, it seems like Part 4 will play out as a suitably high stakes final season, as Ambrose...

Netflix dropped the first teaser for the fourth and final season of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Monday, revealing that the witchy teen drama will come to an end on New Year’s Eve.
In the short clip, which you can watch here and via the video above, the wicked events Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) endured during the Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa-created show’s first three seasons flash on screen before we jump into a first look at the final batch of episodes and Sabrina’s fight against the Eldritch terrors.
Here’s the official description for “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Season 4, which launches Thursday, Dec. 31 on Netflix:
“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” re-imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Over the course of Part 4’s eight episodes, The Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale.

Exclusive: Keenan Tracey (Bates Motel), Daniel Doheny (Alex Strangelove), Natalie Malaika (Fractured), newcomer Morgan Holmstrom and Kristy Dinsmore (Vikings) are set as series regulars in Syfy’s Day of the Dead, based on George A. Romero’s classic zombie film, from Abbott Street Films and Cartel Entertainment (Creepshow). Additionally, horror filmmaker Steven Kostanski is set to direct the first four episodes and executive produce. Production is currently underway on the 10-episode series in Vancouver.
Written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who also will showrun, Day of the Dead is the intense story of six strangers trying to survive the first 24 hours of an undead invasion. This ode to Romero’s famous flesh-eaters reminds us that sometimes all it takes to bring people together is a horde of hungry zombies trying to rip them apart.

Seven drama series play at the 2020 San Sebastian Film Festival, a historic record. Three series, Movistar Plus’ “Riot Police” and HBO Europe’s “Patria” and “We Are Who We Are,” screen in their entirety in San Sebastián’s Official Selection, another first.
None of this seems a coincidence. Traditionally the highest-profile film event in the Spanish-speaking world, San Sebastian is fast becoming one of its most important drama series showcases as well.
This year the San Sebastián Film Festival’s TV cup runneth over. Why is another matter. Following, five suggestions:

Paolo Taviani, of revered filmmaking duo the Taviani brothers, is back behind the camera — this time without his brother Vittorio, who died in 2018.
Taviani is shooting “Leonora Addio,” a surreal drama that takes its cue from a short story by great Italian playwright and author Luigi Pirandello. It’s a long-gestating project that Paolo says he and Vittorio had long intended to film together.
Italy’s Fandango Sales has taken international distribution for the film and will be kicking off world sales outside Italy during the Toronto International Film Festival’s online film market this month.
Co-produced by Donatella Palermo’s Stemal Entertainment and Rai Cinema with France’s Les Films d’Ici, “Leonora” started principal photography at the end of July at Cinecittà Studios and will also be shooting in Sicily. Production is expected to wrap in October and Taviani said he expects to complete the film by year’s end.

One episode away from its series finale, Mr. Robot pulls off what may be its most surprising twist yet.

This Mr. Robot review contains spoilers.
Mr. Robot Season 4 Episode 11
One of the most consistently frustrating things about the final season of Mr. Robot is its truly bizarre pacing.
Season 4 has veered wildly from thrilling plot twist to quiet character introspection to pointless side quest from week to week, with little sign of anything that looks like a narrative road map. Is the ultimate goal of the season to bring down Whiterose? To stop her mysterious Washington Township project? To fix Elliot’s fractured psyche? To unseat the global elite? Or perhaps even rewrite reality itself?
If “eXit” is anything to go by, the answer is possibly all of the above, all at once. This episode is a microcosm of everything that’s been both great and frustrating about this final season,...

Earlier this month, it was reported that Scream 5 is finally in the works at Spyglass Media Group. Bloody Disgusting had the scoop, but We Got This Covered was actually the first outlet to tell you that a new installment in the self-aware slasher franchise was on its way many months ago.
It was the right move to rest the Scream series for a while following the passing of original director Wes Craven, but it seems that now it’s time to unleash Ghostface once again. And though plot details are still scarce, we’ve previously shared the news that the original cast will be back for the next Scream. That still seems to be the case, but we’ve received clarification that though Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox are likely to return in some capacity, Scream 5 will be more of a reboot than a direct sequel.

Beginning 2000s, director Akihiko Shiota emerged as part of a new wave of Japanese filmmakers portraying teenage alienation in postmodern Japan. Like many other famous directors of his generation, Shiota was a student of Shigehiko Hasumi at Tokyo Film School. Though less prolific than his former classmates Shinji Aoyama (“Eureka” 2000) and Kiyoshi Kurosawa (“Cure” 1997), Shiota produced impressive movies such as “Moonlight Whispers” (1999), “Harmful Insect” (2001) and “Canary” (2004), which all deal with young outcasts and a lack of parental presence. In the course of his career, Shiota shifted his focus from serious indie dramas to sentimental commercial productions and effect-filled entertainment (“Dororo” 2007). He finally ended up in the genre of medical drama with the TBS tearjerker “I Just Wanna Hug You” (2014). What may look like a decline of artistic demand, is proven wrong by Shiota’s newest film “Farewell Song” (2019).

It’s officially the first day of autumn, which means Halloween is right around the corner! That usually leads into the titular series coming back into heavy rotation in horror fan households, which inevitably leads to a viewing of the Paul Rudd-starring sixth installment of Michael Myers’ stomping grounds. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers went through a tumultuous production, all through pre and going all the way through post. The version most people saw, the theatrical cut, was not well received.
However, for the first time, in 2014, Halloween 666: The Producer’s Cut was made available for general audiences. With 70 minutes of additional or substituted footage, while nowhere near the best of the franchise, it was a marked improvement. But the alternate ending was strange, even for an at this point off-the-rails series. Here’s the obligatory spoiler warning for a 24-year-old movie!

After all but retiring from songwriting for three-plus decades, Friedman’s latest album follows in the wake of last year’s Circus of Life, a meditative collection that rejuvenated the Texas singer-songwriter’s drive to make music in his eighth decade. “Circus of Life was more of an intellectual’s record,” Friedman tells Rolling Stone Country. “I mean, I hate intellectuals, but I am one, some of the time.”

Fox’s “9-1-1: Lone Star” continues to round out its main cast.
Jim Parrack has joined the upcoming drama in a series regular role. He joins previously announced series leads Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler. In the series, Lowe stars as Capt. Today brought the announcement that horror fans have been patiently waiting for since Michael Myers returned to the big screen last October. Blumhouse is making not just one sequel to their 2018 Halloween reboot but also a third film to complete the trilogy – and maybe the series as a whole – to follow the next year. What’s more, it’s been confirmed that Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise the iconic role of Laurie Strode once again.
Jason Blum, founder of Blumhouse, revealed the exciting news on Twitter. As well as announcing the two movies’ titles and release dates – Halloween Kills (2019) and Halloween Ends (2020) – Blum clarified that “the gang is All back.” This means that Curtis will again lead, with Danny McBride contributing to the script and David Gordon Green directing. Halloween creator John Carpenter will also return to compose the score.

Forget everything (and everyone) you thought you knew about the Scream TV series. Honestly, you might as well forget it even existed in the first place.
The truth is, VH1’s Scream: Resurrection — premiering tonight at 9/8c with back-to-back episodes — bares little resemblance to the two-season story of passion and slashin’ that MTV aired back in 2015. Sure, there’s still a ghost-masked killer roaming the streets, but this one’s raising hell in Atlanta, a far cry from the quaint, picturesque town of Lakewood. Having already received a variety of trailers and clips pertaining to Scream: Resurrection, one could say we’ve been due for a photo gallery. I mean, promotional stills were bound to surface at some point, but it’s not crazy to think diehard fans of the enduring slasher franchise were starting to get antsy.
Now that we have less than a week to go until the bloodbath begins, VH1 have let loose the visual evidence. That’s right, it’s important that none of you forget how the series has a new home, as the party has moved from MTV to VH1. In my view, it’s actually befitting of the situation, as the aptly titled Resurrection appears to be closer in tone to Wes Craven’s flicks and abandons the storyline established by the first two seasons; new ballgame, new network.

Described as a “character-driven genre thriller,” Emergence — which originally received a pilot order at NBC — follows a police chief (Tolman) who takes in a young child that she finds near the site of a mysterious accident, only to learn that the child has no memory of what happened. The investigation draws Tolman’s Jo into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all.

It’s been almost three weeks now since the official title of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was first revealed, which has proven to be more than enough time for fans to form an array of predictions on just who or what the “Skywalker” in question might be.
But one subsequent revelation that seems to have sent a few theorists back to the drawing board is the movie’s Polish title, “Gwiezdne wojny: Skywalker – odrodzenie,” which can be translated as “Star Wars: Skywalker Resurrection.” The change from “Rise” to “Resurrection” (or “Revival” or “Rebirth”) has led some fans to wonder if Luke Skywalker is going to rise from the grave New Testament-style. And at the very least, the word suggests a return of sorts.
However, before people start jumping to conclusions, it’s probably worth noting that “Skywalker Resurrection” could be little more than a misleading translation of the original English title.

In the collection of dramas I have watched recently, Ram’s Tamil movie “Resurrection” is undoubtedly one of the most dramatic, as it uses a very “difficult” theme as its base to comment on other, equally difficult subjects.
Resurrection screened at International Film Festival Rotterdam
The film revolves around Amudhavan, a single father, and his 14-year-old daughter, Paapa, who suffers from Spastic Cerebral Palsy. His wife, after years of taking care of the girl on her own, has abandoned them and left with another man, and Amudhavan now has to face a task he tried to ignore the previous years. His relationship with his daughter is very hard since his initial efforts are treated with distrust and fear from Paapa, while his family and neighbors make it clear how unwelcome the child is there. Due to these circumstances, Amudhavan is forced to buy a secluded house in the country for them to leave by themselves,...

Beyoncé is offering up some more “Lemonade.”
Variety can exclusively reveal that the audio of Beyoncé’s 65-minute “Lemonade” film will drop across all music streaming services on Tuesday, April 23. The drop marks the third anniversary of the film’s debut on HBO. It’s also the first time all of Bey’s catalog is available for streaming.
The “Lemonade” film, which coincided with release of the album of the same name on April 23, 2016, also uses poetry written by Somali poet Warsan Shire that will be included in the new audio release.
Until now, the film was only available through Beyoncé’s co-owned streaming service Tidal. Divided into 11 chapters—”Intuition”, “Denial”, “Anger”, “Apathy”, “Emptiness”, “Accountability”, “Reformation”, “Forgiveness”, “Resurrection”, “Hope”, and “Redemption”—the film went on to earn four primetime Emmys.

There’s not much that’s subtle about the first image of Roxann Dawson’s “Breakthrough,” which opens with a shot of one of the film’s central characters peacefully sinking through a large body of water, arms outstretched, approximating Jesus so closely that the film may as well be called “Resurrection.” But Dawson, a former actress with a substantial body of television directing and producing gigs under her belt, eschews further overt imagery for a modern story of faith designed to appeal to the devout and the secular alike.
While the film arrives in theaters stamped with the Walt Disney Pictures logo, it’s also one of the last productions to come out of the forward-thinking Fox 2000 label, pre-studio merger. It’s a strange pick for an imprint best known for films like “Life of Pi” and “Hidden Figures” — “Breakthrough” is an unabashedly faith-based film that relies more on...
