Pawan Kalyan USED to star in good films. Trivikram USED to write good dialogs and make good films. But gone are their glory days. It seems like all they have left to offer now is self glorification. To the point that the viewer looses interest. There are numerous songs of Pawan Kalyan added for no reason. Comedy dialogs references from other movies like "Takita takita tha 123..." etc. There are some normal dialogs delivered by Pawan Kalyan but the characters in the movie react as if it's a deep dialog or some deep poetry worthy of admiration.
These gimmicks would've been necessary if the plot wasn't interesting enough. But the plot is very intriguing. Even though it's a remake, the original thought is interesting. We have seen personification of many natural elements as Gods but rarely TIME. They could've gone much deeper with this idea. There are many movies that play with the concept of time and alternate realities like The Groundhog Day, Edge of tomorrow, Source Code, The Butterfly Effect, etc etc.
And the moral of the story is such a let down. The moral is that a person's actions have no importance, things will anyway turn out the same irrespective of the protagonist's efforts. The exact opposite moral is conveyed in Its a wonderful life.
There is a scene with lemon soda that indirectly, but perfectly encapsulates the negative message of the movie. The scene is that Pawan Kalyan is explaining to a soda wala, how to make a glass of lemon soda. And the instructions are exactly the things that the soda wala would have anyway done. There is nothing special in his instructions that the soda wala would otherwise have not done.
The less said about the acting skills of Sai Dharam Tej, the better.
Overall I found the movie thought provoking.
