One of the best 2D Mario games
zaynmaliksgirlbecca28 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The game might be the best 2D Mario game since New Super Mario Bros. The game is a refresher of the Mario 2D playformers. The game is an upgrade from the New Super Mario bros series. So much detail went into the game. Old and new things return in the game such as the fireflower and a new power up Elephant power up. You'll hear new and old songs such as the new overworld tune and the return of classic Mario songs such as hammer bros fight song from Super Mario Bros 3. The game introduces new mechanics such as music levels for the first tine in 2D Mario. The game is can be easier for experienced or non experienced player with the removal of the time. You have all the time in the world to explore each level. Time removed males things easier for me because now I have more time to collect things and to search hard to find things. You can tell some games influened the game such as Raymen with the music levels. Raymen games have music levels. The attention to the animation goes to show that if you put animation in your budget animation can be beautiful. The only downside to the game is kinda repetitive boss figts the same boss fights are with Bowsr Jr. The only thing that saves the Bowser Jr. Fights is the Wonder Flower effects. It's no wonder why Super Mario Wonder has wonder in it's name it's because it's wonderfull. You experience the wonder of the game. The game is beautiful in several ways. The Wonder Flower is what 2D Mario needed. The Wonder Flower spices up your game play. I like that the badge system gives each character the same ability. Now Mario can have the floaty jump that Luigi has. I wish there was an option to make the easy mode for every character not just for Yoshi. I wish Yoshi wasn't stuck on the easy mode. Yoshi and Nabbid don't take damage from enemies. Super Mario Wonder has changed 2D Mario in a good way. I've been a Mario gamer since 2002 and I'm 30. This game is the most fun I've had with a 2D Mario.

Wowie-Zowie! This game is indeed fun and wonderful! 👍👍

We've waited for a new Mario game to come to the Nintendo Switch. Well, it happened! Ta-da! It's Super Mario Bros. Wonder! Wow!

The animation of this game is beyond incredible. Even the music of this game is awesome. I like the story of this game so far. Prince Florian is a cute character. We can also play as Daisy, one of the Yoshis or Nabbit. I've noticed that there is no time limit so we don't have to worry about any countdown while journeying through. The concept of this game is like Yoshi's Island. So far my favorite power-ups are the elephant and bubble flower.

It's too bad that Charles Martinet is not voicing Mario and Luigi anymore but I'm glad that he is now the ambassador for Mario. Probably my siblings and I can see him again in other comic cons for autographs and pictures. I know that his last voicing role was on The Super Mario Bros. Movie as a cameo. He passed the torch to Kevin Afghani. I've read his bio that he did some voice acting roles. This gives a new and fresh role for the franchise. Although Charles may have retired from his voice acting roles he will always be Mario in hearts.

So my brother and I actually love and enjoy playing this game. Maybe in the future there will be new platforming games. Perhaps a game based off from the animated movie.

Best Mario Game Since Galaxy
rxpkyxs22 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge fan of the Mario franchise and have been for as long as I can remember and Super Mario Galaxy and SMB Galaxy 2 have always been my favourite game(s) in the series. However with the release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder puts my favour to the galaxy games into question. Wonder performs a long needed overhaul of the 2D Mario formula presenting to us tons of unique worlds, levels, enemies, challenges, badges, concepts and more. Wonder is a game full of surprises and fun and is a game that will constantly leave you impressed with the constant flow of new things, sure there are some reused aspects but the way those aspects are reused keep everything fresh and fun! The only complaint I have is the lack of unique bosses but since everything else is so unique and interesting I don't mind. Overall Super Mario Bros. Wonder is an excellent platformer that I could recommend to anyone!

Lives up to its name
RetroRam29 October 2023
I had so much fun with this game. It genuinely excited me in a way that recent Mario games have not, and it did it with an infectious soundtrack, inventive gameplay, and gorgeous graphics. The animation is something new to the series and having gone back to NSMBU that game now feels lacking in feel. Levels and are short and sweet, and a little light on challenge at times. Some levels feel like they could have been rooms down a pipe in another level, but each one showcases a new idea or power up in a fun way. There is a special world that can be found through your travels, and the challenge there increases and will test your skills, particularly the last couple of levels which throw you into every power up and modifier in the rest of the game. The game successfully lives up to the series' past glory, and we can only hope they keep this magic alive in an inevitable sequel.

This Game is a WONDER!
mynameispax13 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This game is one of the best Mario games to date. With a lot of character choices, unkillable characters for new gamers, remember able levels, and just a game that is so good! Did I mention that they fix physics, unlike other games? Elephant Mario can push and ground-pound harder than a regular Mario. If you want to beat a Mario game, Try this one! Playing with friends or family is a blast too! (Even though they got rid of being able to be picked up and thrown) If you are bored, then just try this game, BOREDOM BE GONE! They also now have badges that can help you on certain levels like a badge that can give you a Mushroom when you start the level, Having a vine, and swinging around like Spider-man, Heck! You can be invisible and make the game harder!

Wonder-ful.
southdavid16 April 2024
It's been years since I properly played a 2D Mario Platform game, perhaps even all the way back to Super Mario World. The 3D one's I've been more involved with, but not a traditional one like this. And it's my loss, because this was a brilliant. A fun, imaginative and memorable time that will stay with me.

Seemingly bored with kidnapping the princess, Bowser uses the power of the Wonder Flower to merge with and steal the castle of Prince Florian, of the Flower Kingdom. As one of 12 heroes, you traverse levels capturing Wonder Seeds that reverse Bowsers dark magic and allow access deeper into the world. Each of the six Worlds has a Royal Seed, that destroys one of the cloud piranhas protecting Castle Bowser.

So, the basics of Mario games, established decades ago, remain. The aim is to travel from left to right across a level, jumping between platforms, avoiding or squashing enemies and make it to the goal. The variation this time comes from three new power ups, Drill Mario - who can dig into the bottom or top of a level and traverse along it; Elephant Mario, who can swat enemies with his trunk and hold water; and Bubble Mario, who can generate bubbles that trap enemies or can be bounced on to reach platforms. Each level also allows you to equip the character with a 'badge', variations of which can be collected as you play through the game - these may enhance existing skills, such as higher jumps or increased speed, or have another effect such as attracting coins to you or generating extra platforms to make levels easier. There's a real "Super Mario Bros. 2" (the "Doki Doki Panic" version) vibe in some of these, such as the badge that allows you to crouch and charge for a really high jump.

It's platforming perfection as you'd imagine from the company that has been making these for so long. Each level also has a second wonder seed that can be collected during the run. Each of these is found by activating a Wonder flower, which produces strange and imaginative effects on the level, such as the marching, singing, piranha plants, the pipes moving, or stampedes of enemies destroying the level. They are almost universally brilliant and stick around just long enough to divert and not overwhelm.

So, if it's so brilliant - and it is - why have I given it 8 out of 10 and not 10. The difficulty is the reason for that. I took one mark off because the game is generally quite easy, you can effect this a little, with your character and badge selection and I'd urge you to be careful with that if you can, trying to stay away from playing as Yoshi too much, or using a real 'cheat code' badge, like the extra blocks one, but even then it's still a breeze to get through. Except that is for the special world level "Climb to the Beat" that easily took 200 lives off me as I struggled to get through it. I took another point off just because of how staggeringly harsh that level is compared to the rest of the game.

It's brilliant overall though, even with those frustrations. Just a staggering good time and I'm already looking forward to the next 2D Mario game I can play.

Great Game and all
ericarbarlow21 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Yay I'm the first review! I'm currently on Fungi Mines and I Gotta Say... It's great! I love the animations and color, and the music vibes! Now, I never expected Wonder to be a musical or anything... The new enemy concepts are cool, like Maw-Maws, The Spray Can Enemies, and the Wonder Flowers just BRING THE GOODS! New Super Mario Bros didn't feel New anymore, should have done a new villain tho. But aside from all of this, I LOVE it! The badges And Kevin Afghani is nailing it as the voice of Mario and Luigi, the new voices are cool, I'd expect more Secret Worlds with DLC! Keep it up Nintendo, makes me hopeful for The RPG Remake!
