The previous episode ended with Carrie being snatched from her house and taken, hooded, to see Majid Javadi; the man believed to be behind the CIA bombing. It isn't long before his attempt to recruit her switches to her trying to recruit him. With the knowledge the he has been stealing from the Iranian security services laid out he knows he can't return home
this should put him firmly in the CIA's pocket but he knows just how important he is so decides to take revenge for something that happened decades ago before being taken into CIA custody. Meanwhile Dana Brody has decided that she can't live her current life any more so decides to make some changes; including changing her surname.
After several episodes where not much really happened things pick up again here; the episode starts with fairly tense scenes as Saul and his team lose sight of Carrie and build to a shocking scene featuring a brutal double murder. All this made this feel like classic 'Homeland' which to my mind is a good thing; the earlier more emotional drama wasn't bad but the sense of real threat here was much more exciting. There was still some of the more emotional drama in the scenes with Dana and her mother and some intrigue involving the soon to be Director of the CIA. Overall a fine episode; a real return to form.
