What a beautiful episode from such a beautiful show!

Warning: Spoilers
*SPOLIERS* I have to be honest when I say that I was avoiding BES for the past few days, without any specific reason. And what a stupid I was! All the show is something very incredible and unique!

It grows on you, and keep on growing the more you see, and when you reach the 4th episode of this samurai tale, than you understand how deep Mizo character is, and what will need to take to get her revenge. There's no rules for her sacrifice, or for what she needs to do in order to fulfill her promise...

I will have to assume that the final part of this episode, when Mizu goes to take the life of the little Kinuyo in exchange of some informations regarding Fowler's castle, is probably one of the most heartbreaking scenes I have ever saw on an animation piece of cinema! The blind, non-stop sequence entering the building, on the roof, the bird situation, and the intelligent strategy that takes the samurai to the girls room, only to deceive her one more time just before breaking her neck, really makes you think on how much of a hero or how much of a villain Mizu really is! Everything in this episode is perfect, but this final minutes, with a beautiful music piece from Amie Doherty "Kinuyo's promise fuldilled", makes it next level and put a legendary status on such a young show!

Thank you.

Emotionally beautifull experience

Beauty! Thats the word i would use to describe this episode! Of course the visuals and animation is beatifull, but thats not the main beauty! No.. this time beauty comes in the form of character, someone willing to immerse herself in who she is! Someone willing to do something horrible as an act of love!

This episode mostly centers around how women are treated in this period and what options they have in life! Nobody is gonna give them a good life, instead they have to make a good life for themselves, with the ressources they have! Much like episode two, men only see women as a tool for wealth, stature and pleasure!

The last part was so emotional and dark! I will never forget some of these scenes! We also now see how detastabel and cruel our main antagonist is and a glimpse of his goal! Making us root fot Mizu even more!

Insane cliffhanger ending!

getting even better

This series has been very good and now it's extraordinary. The story is going perfectly logical places but is cleverly written enough that the scenario is now very different than in previous episodes and allows characters' paths to intersect again.

New characters are introduced and are immediately engaging. Even though their stories will last only an episode or two, they're as fascinating as the main characters. That's a sign of good writing.

This episode is the most beautiful, sad and emotional of all of them so far. It may have merely been a means to an ends - to allow Mizu to take the next step in her quest - but it's also worthwhile in its own right.
