A true, disturbing tale of the hard-hitting reality.
Tejas_Vinda_AITS23 November 2018
This is very nice movie based on true incident took place in Pakistan in late 1990s and early 2000.

Inspited by true story, the movie well captures how the multi national corporate greed killed thousands of babies and even made the karachi hero look like blackmailer to have got separated from his family for 7 yrs for fighting against the corporate evil & for the sake of humanity.

it's our very own Emraan Hashmi who steals the show by a soulful portrayal of the protagonist who fights the odds, defying limitations.

Feels good watching the first show that just got released 2 hrs ago. One of the best movie released by Zee5 , it's going to be one of best film in Emraan Hashmi's career all thanks to the masterstroke direction by Danis Tanovic. No doubt to see Anurag Kashyap for co-producing such bold story..!

sauravjoshi858 January 2019
This movie should be watched only for the superb acting of Emraan Hashmi off course the supporting staff is also excellent but Emraan steals the lime light. A must watch movie which exposes the dirty world of Corporates and also shows that they can fall to any level just to make profits.

THIS IS A STORY THAT KEEPS REPEATING ITSELF
faisalfaves27 November 2018
No wonder it took four years to release here, that too in Digital Platform. Thanks, ZEE5 for being brave and courageous enough to make us aware of the horror show run by the multinational organizations, as well as Govt, in the worst possible manner.

"THIS IS A STORY THAT KEEPS REPEATING ITSELF".

A Must Watch...!! Highly Recommended

A solid movie about an important topic
claudecat26 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is a well-crafted docudrama, and the performances are mostly excellent, especially Emraan Hashmi as Ayan. I've never been to Pakistan, so I don't know how accurately the hospital setting was portrayed, but it certainly looked and sounded convincing. The filmmaker added a meta framing device, showing a team of documentarians trying to figure out how to tell this story without coming up against legal trouble. Although the meta thing is often done, in my opinion, this information added an extra dimension to the story that was valuable. I had no idea it could be so difficult to take on a multinational corporation, despite solid evidence that proves what is going on. It also showed how many people are necessary to bring out a story like this. It took a very dedicated whistleblower, medical personnel, NGO workers, journalists from more than one country, producers, lawyers... It's shocking how much power these big corporations have, to stop even the truth.

Ayan valiantly--and unusually--risked his own family and livelihood to change what was happening. In this he was strongly aided by his parents and wife--if they had not agreed to support him, and suffer their own privations as a result of his attempts to seek justice, he could not have done it. (SPOILER AHEAD) And yet, despite the efforts of all these courageous people, the wrongdoing continues. The real-life couple the characters of Ayan and Zainab are based on (I believe their real names are different) appeared at the film festival screening I attended, and they are still struggling to get the word out. The film has not yet been shown in Pakistan. (Gratuitous observation: the real-life wife is just as pretty as Geetanjali!)

An interesting side note for documentary fans: Maryam d'Abo, who played Maggi (the blond NGO worker), wrote and produced a very interesting documentary on Bond Girls that is featured on some James Bond DVDs.

One of the most compelling aspects of the movie is the fact that it is based on a shockingly true story about a whistle blower...
Fella_shibby25 November 2018
Syed Aamir Raza, a former pharmaceutical drugs salesman portrayed in an interesting manner by Emraan Hashmi.

Syed Aamir Raza is one helluva gutsy fella who in tough and compromising situations made decisions that weren't in his personal best interest.

This movie is nicely directed by Danis Tanovic who is known for his Oscar winner No Man's Land which defeated my fav film Lagaan.

Tanovic did an excellent job n Hashmi gave his career best in portraying Raza.

On a technical level, Tigers is a well-made and gritty film.

Tanovic doesn't flinch away from the subject matter, and some scenes (the small kids n the slums) are incredibly tough to watch.

The cast also includes the vampire leader from 30 Days of Night, Danny Huston n the pulchritudinous Bond girl Maryam d'Abo.

I own the dvd of Xtro which is Abo's first movie n her nude scene in it is an icing on the cake.

wonderfully crafted movie by danis tanovic . the Oscar winner makes yet another must-see movie .according to me his best till date . emraan hashmi delivers gem of a performance .he is a natural as ayan . doesn't loose the character for a scene and takes this amazing movie to another level . geetanjali thapa also gives a good performance as ayan's wife . supporting cast is also top-notch . this kind of cinema which is entertaining , gritty and at the same time raises a serious issue should be promoted and has a gr8 chance at the Oscars in the foreign language film category .hope this movie raises awareness about this serious issue which is killing several infants every year

The best of Emraan Hashmi.
Messi74246 March 2015
I don't know why and what people are creating fuss about. It is a wonderful movie with excellent performances, brilliantly executed and directed. The movie is phenomenal and some important points have been illuminated. It is based on a true story and is full of emotions and depths into the unknowns.

The Oscar winner Director Danis Tanovic, makes yet another must-see movie. It is one of his best movie till date. Emraan Hashmi delivers a magnificence performance and I can say he can finally shed and shred his serial kisser image. He is natural as Ayan. He doesn't loose the character for a scene and takes this amazing movie to another level .

One of the finest works ive seen in 2018.. It was realistic cinema covering issues from a company minting money via manufacturing infant killing milk powder to helplessness of the people drinking dirty water etc., emraan lived his character of a salesman caught among these issues who tries to fight back the system. Then geethanjali thapa and other cast did a commendable work..

'Nothing new' a tragedy keeps repeating itself -as said in the movie
nikree14 October 2021
A non-rubbish straightforward good semi-biography of a man trying to do 'right'.

I couldn't find any shortcomings. It's worth 90 minutes of it's time, even if you cannot handle non-masala movies.

Tells us, how science is manipulated and used to make profits.

Corporate greed trumps humanity
iSFM3 December 2018
This movie has excellent performances, and an amazing true story to back it up.

Strong message about an eye opening issue which has plagued us ever since dawn of the corporate world, where profits mean more than anything else, specially when it is set in a third world country which is already struggling against socio-political issues relating to poverty, illiteracy and corruption.

The movie leaves me thinking how trapped humanity has been in the clutches of corporate greed since the last century, where multinationals have exploited third world nations time and again, exploited people who don't have a voice due to lack of education and lack of basic necessities such as clean water.

It is ironic that this film was released in 2014, but only now has it gotten a mainstream internet release as it truly deserves an audience which is interested in knowing how a multinational can get away with literally anything due to corrupt systems. Atleast in first world countries we have been witnessing class action suits against corporations, however, this film is a prime example of how easily they can manipulate the system and walk away without any consequences.

Further food for thought, in today's world whats more tragic is that these corporations have the audacity to talk about social, corporate and environmental responsibilities flashing their agendas and manifestos, whereas in reality its all a giant facade.

Genuine and Honest Film.
harishmadireddi30 June 2020
Never expected this kind of performance from imran, he exhibited his talent for sure. The subject has lots of issues to be addressed. Hopefully the problem addressed in the film must get solved. I am indian but realised how honest and dedicated an individual can be irrespective of the stigma that country has. Ayans honesty and his fathers trust.. wifes stubborn will power put together lead ayan to go for the battle. Very well made movie.

Brilliant , Exceptional and Rare
navendu_krishnan29 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Happened to See this movie as a random suggetion and I was blown away by the execution and acting.

Its a rare, different, strong attempt in Asian film segment.

An Indian movie which completely sets in Pakistan without any relation to Terrorism / War. With a set of international crew, Danis Tanovic an acclaimed director, Based on true story which happened between 1970-1990's.

Emraan Hashmi, Geetanjali Thapa, Danny Huston, Khalid Abdalla, Satyadeep Mishra - list of awesome and exceptionally versatile actors.

The story is totally worrysome based on Infant Food Adultration of Nestle (Which was changed as Lasta)

THe Ending is disturbing and the direction and flow is totally brilliant. Even though this movie finished its taking on 2014, it got released only after 2018.

One of the best movies of Emraan Hashmi.

Well made movie!!
racersunil7 March 2021
It's so sad to know that this movie is based on a true story. I always find it hard to digest when a MNC puts profits ahead of human lives or health. Kudos to the man who decided to stand tall against the atrocities and become a whistle blower.

A fearless man's determination to fight capitalist indifference to a systematic disintegration of poor lives
msunando1 July 2020
Ayaan (Emraan Hashmi) "earns" his lucky break to work for a multinational healthcare company that manufactures a much popular baby food formula, and distributes it through their well trained and robustly equipped sales force who are termed "tigers". Armed with his prior experience of having known pediatricians, and now armed with sales boosting tools of imprest cash and other inducements, Ayaan quickly climbs the ladder of success and in a couple of years, is able to turn his personal life around.

But it takes a chance encounter with one of his old contacts Dr. Faiz (Satyadeep Misra) for Ayaan to realise that the much vaunted baby formula that built the foundation for his happiness is actually a poison for babies in areas that do not have clean drinking water. The combination of the formula with the contaminated water causes acute dehydration among babies leading to multiple organ failures and subsequent death - Ayaan is devastated and decides to quit the company. He urges the company to withdraw the product from the market, failing which, he warns that he would publish the facts. What follows is a battle between Ayaan with the help of an NGO and the multinational, with the latter trying all traditional methods of intimidation including threats of dire consequences to the family. Ayaan doesn't budge, risking everything, and after a 7 year fight to finish, is able to bring the corrupt system to justice.

Tigers is a docudrama of sorts but not devoid of the cinematic expressions of emotions and values. Director Danis Tanovic is able to merge the Pakistani culture well with the western social and legal mechanism to turn Tigers into a heroic tale of a fight for justice against the capitalist forces and an indifferent government. Emraan Hashmi is utterly believable, his performance underrated and subdued. Satyadeep Misra is a strong pillar of support, as usual. Vines Nagpal, Supriya Pathak, Adil Hussain and Geetanjali Thapa lend great support. Don't miss Tigers, it's an inspirational tale of a fearless man's conscience.
