The CW is getting prepared for the fall season.
The network on Wednesday unveiled its fall premiere dates, and there are some changes vs. the schedule the network revealed earlier this year.
All American, which was set to remain on Mondays in the fall, has been pushed to midseason.
The scheduling shift isn't surprising: The WGA strike is ongoing, and there's a good chance a SAG-AFTRA strike will go ahead later this evening.
Moving the show off the fall schedule is a good move because there's no telling when new episodes will be ready for air.
The decision means all four returning CW dramas have been delayed until midseason.
All American: Homecoming, Superman & Lois, and Walker recently landed pickups for the 2023-24 season.
Canceled AMC series 61st Street, which was set to join All American on the fall schedule, has also been delayed.

“All American,” The CW’s lone homegrown series originally set for the fall has been moved to midseason. The network confirmed the move on Wednesday after announcing premiere dates for the rest of its fall schedule. Also being pushed to midseason is “61st Street” and the “I am” documentary film franchise.
The drama was first renewed for Season 6 in January and was originally slated to air on Monday nights at 8 p.m. Et/Pt, leading into the acquired drama series “61st Street.” In May, the network revealed that “Walker,” which was previously renewed for an abbreviated fourth season, was also being held for midseason.
It’s safe to say the move was likely another casualty of the ongoing writers’ strike, which has pushed networks like ABC to delay all of its primetime scripted series. However, with the other unscripted and acquired programming, the network has managed to pad itself somewhat...

We knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less difficult to report that The CW is completely overhauling its schedule in the fall.
Earlier this year, Nexstar took control of the young-skewing network from Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount.
As a result, the network's fall schedule is drastically different than in years past.
All American is the only show familiar to CW viewers on the fall schedule.
The hit drama scored a 13-episode renewal for Season 6.
It will retain its Mondays at 8 p.m. slot in the fall, where it will lead into 61st Street, the canceled AMC series that got a last-minute reprieve on the revamped network.
Tuesdays will consist of three Canadian-imported comedies and a UK import.
Wednesdays will feature high-drama with Canadian dramas Sullivan's Crossing and The Spencer Sisters.
Thursday will feature HBO Max cast-off FBoy Island, which will also feature a spinoff at midseason.

The CW has released its schedule for 2023-24 — its first since local TV giant Nexstar took controlling ownership of the network — and as expected, it’s light on homegrown shows and features a number of series that began their lives elsewhere.
All American will lead off the week (pending resolution of the writers strike) in its familiar Monday spot, and unscripted staples Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Masters of Illusion and World’s Funniest Animals will remain on Fridays and Saturdays. The rest of the week, however, will be filled by acquisitions that cost less than homegrown original shows, part of Nexstar’s drive to make The CW profitable by 2025. (Under previous owners Warner Bros. and CBS, it never was, nor was it really designed to be.)

With The CW’s fall primetime schedule, which was unveiled on Thursday morning during upfronts, we’re getting a true look at what the Nexstar era of The CW entails. The network’s new schedule only includes two returning scripted originals — Season 6 of “All American” and Season 4 of “Walker.” The network’s typical youth-focused programming has been replaced by seven more adult-oriented series that are new to the network, most of which are either Canadian or British productions. Say goodbye to DC superheroes and cute fashion dramas and hello to half-hour comedies about raising kids.
“This fall, The CW embarks on the first step to become bigger and broader by offering our viewers a wide variety of programming from premium adult dramas to bold comedies and binge-worthy unscripted franchises,” Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment for The CW Network, said in a press release. “The new CW is now a broadcast...

The CW’s 2023 fall schedule will feature just one scripted series that originated on the network, with the rest filled with foreign acquisitions and unscripted fare.
The high school football drama “All American,” which was renewed for Season 6 at the network back in January, will air on Monday nights at 8 p.m. Et/Pt, leading into the acquired drama series “61st Street.” “Walker” starring Jared Padalecki, which was renewed for an abbreviated fourth season, is being held for midseason.
There is no mention of the remaining original CW scripted shows “Gotham Knights,” “Superman & Lois,” and “All American: Homecoming,” though according to an individual with knowledge of the situation, no official decision has been made on their future at this time.
This fall schedule no doubt insulates the broadcaster against the effects of the ongoing writers’ strike, similar to how ABC pushed all of its primetime scripted programming out of the fall.

The CW has put together a fall schedule full of international series and unscripted formats alongside scripted returner All American, while Walker is moving to midseason.
The move is not a huge surprise given the company’s recent acquisition by Nexstar amid plans to lean into lower cost programming.
Decisions are yet to be made on the three outstanding dramas Gotham Knights, Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming, although more information is expected to emerge during the network’s Upfront presentation later this morning.
Here is The CW’s fall schedule.
