Buffy the naked zombie slayer
bluegrafx3 March 2021
So let's make a zombie movie with a naked girl and a chainsaw. Zombies show up in the middle of nowhere. There just happens to be a shed with a chainsaw in it. The girl just happens to lose her dress. It works. It's a zombie flick. I can dig it. It has all the elements.

Then let's make sure we film it in the dark with bad lighting, use some kind of weird warping effect incessantly and some kind of color shifting, blurry, seen through cloudy zombie eye effect too so no one can actually see anything. And when we're not using those effects over and over and over and over again, or an extreme closeup of a zombie, or the obligatory camera shake that's still in vogue, throw in a jump cut.

The makeup effects are really good including the blood splattered titular girl. Better in fact than Jean Rollin's Zombie Lake. The editing completely ruins it. All the effects go to 11 all the time. It's near impossible to watch. It's almost like you're watching a 5th generation VHS bootleg of a Eurotrash zombie flick.

Not half as good as it sounds tempting

Warning: Spoilers
"Naked Zombie Girl" is a postapocalyptic live action short film from 2014 that was written and directed by Rickey Bird Jr. and the man also plays a supporting character in here. As the title suggests, this is a movie about a female character played by Meghan Chadeayne and she is constantly stuck in small places surrounded by walls or metal and also surrounded by bloodlusty zombies who may have worse things on their minds than most male audience members will when seeing this one. Me not included as the lead actress doesn't do too much for me despite my preference in dark-haired women. The title oh yeah, could it be any more baity? I doubt it. I personally would say that this one is really only worth seeing for the very biggest zombie film fans. The biggest weakness is the story I guess, the plot, as in areas like effects, make-up and action, the film is fairly decent. But to me the plot stands above everything else really and as a consequence, it is a negative deal-breaker unfortunately. So yeah, it may be best to skip it, don't be tricked by the awards attention here into thinking this is a good film. It is not, even if admittedly it is also not a failure. For genre lovers only.

Back to the abattoir...

Warning: Spoilers
...and then to the scrap heap, this adolescent faux-homage to grindhouse film-making offers nothing in the way of style or substance. The girl is reasonably attractive, though not much of an actor, and yes she gets naked (in thoroughly nonsensical fashion), but the presentation is so purposefully coy that she may as well have stayed in bra and panties, had she worn any in the first place; this vastly overlong gore effects showcase relies on splatter rather than titillation to clumsily earn attention. "Naked Zombie Girl" fails on virtually every level of worthwhile cinema. No script or even story to speak of, nor direction, learners-permit cinematography, poor sound and generally poor lighting---all probable attempts at the aforementioned grindhouse presentation---make "Naked Zombie Girl" a tedious watch for all but the most forgiving of zombie fans. Strictly in-one-eye-and-out-the-other viewing. Caught it no-thanks to Screamfest on YouTube, and grimly regret being suckered by the come-on title. You'll need to endure "Zombie Strippers" again to cleanse your exploitation palate. Not recommended.

Not zombie good
begob25 April 2015
Girl in car is assailed by zombies and chainsaws her way to freedom.

Poor stuff. First five minutes wasted with credits. Story should have jumped to the Benny Hill-style dress ripping. Nudity was minimal, with no appreciation of the girl's body.

Zombies were pretty good, but nothing new. Effects on the big chainsaw killing poor. Almost no information on the knight in shining armour.

Definitely not a classic, and no idea of the point of this.

A fairly well made homage to the genre.
GrungeFringe28 April 2020
For the most part, the film has decent direction. The shots where zombies were motion-tracked and centred were very interesting, and although I can't say I'm the very familiar with grindhouse and horror it stood out to me as fairly unique and unusual. Something else that I found interesting was that, despite the title, the male gaze doesn't rest on the woman at all - she isn't sexualised in the slightest. That might be a (literal) turn-off for some, but I was pleasantly shocked by it While I have some gripes with the movie, such as the contrived method in which she loses her dress (why not just have her naked from the start, or have it clawed off by the undead?), and it's not a masterpiece by any stretch, it's a fun 20 minute viewing with good special effects that's probably worth checking out if you're a fan of horror stuff and you have a spare half hour.

Grindhouse classic
roadrunner57020 November 2014
This is one of the best shorts I've ever seen. From the title alone, you think this is going to be a piece of boobs and blood schlock, but it is everything but.

Meghan Chadeayne is an absolute goddess. I mean seriously, she is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Not only that but she's a great actress. She could have easily played a brain dead naked chick running from zombies. Instead, her scenes are so intense you almost forget she's naked. That is not an easy feat with someone who looks like Meghan Chadeayne.

There has been talk this might be a full length feature. If that happens, I hope to see Meghan retain the lead role. Either way, this short is definitely worth checking out.

Destined to be a Cult Classic
twotrybe23 April 2015
With a title like Naked Zombie Girl, you get exactly that, Naked Zombie Girl only she's not a zombie. She is the heroine in this piece and much like Buffy Sommers from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the main character slays zombies while naked. It's a strangely nice twist as so far as to say that the naked stuff becomes a non issue when she is slaying the zombies. In fact, she too seems to accept the inevitable when she drops her towel in the last scene to fight the zombies. Even the truck driver seems to accept her abilities by fighting naked. I don't know if they will make this into a feature but that premise of her having to fight naked is her super power. Sure, she wears clothes normally but when it comes time to fight the zombies, it's time to get naked. And kudos to the makeup artist who did the zombies. It was some nice work, really nice work. The acting could have been better with the people in the car but that's 3 points off for that. This can easily be a cult classic just on the film short alone. And if true, the $17,000 budget was well spent.

Wow ! Zombies,Chainsaws & Full Frontal !!

Stars: Meghan Chadeayne A Rickey Bird Jr. flick So,Confession time: Started watching this film and wife came into the room,Paused film,Stopped film, closed the link…Before any over the shoulder glances…WAS like 5 minutes into and didn't watch NZG rest of day…Well,I wakeup from a nightmare about NZG,I kid you not.

Hey,lets talk about Naked Effect of Zombie Girl…There must have been flesh colored pasties most of the time,But that is really her butt and looks like got a hair cut mid-filming and they added to physical realism in shots after…She is really NAKED,With no Gorilla Glue keeping her tresses of hair in place for some scenes.

The Cadillac NZG drives is needing some work,But try and get a good mechanic that hasn't been chewed on or would concentrate on fixing your ride while you are naked and waiting.

So,NZG is really scary,Short in length and Meghan is the best stunt to behold.

Great Zombie Short!
blubanshee20 January 2024
I thought this was a great attempt at a modern day Zombie short film. Especially when you take into consideration the budget. I'm sure they had little to work with. Was it a top notch film? No ....But that is what the shorts are all about. When you consider its place in films. This was a great flick! I would love to see what they could do with a big budget.

The effects in this one was very good considering what they had to work with. I have seen some directors and crew that had money and the effects were absolute trash! The young lady that played Zombie Girl did awesome! She is one gorgeous girl and fit the part perfectly. I really hope there is a follow up or a full version in our future. I don't understand some of these comments and 2 star ratings. What do these people expect from a very small group and budget? It was a indie short for gods sake! Not a multi million dollar production.

Give these guys and gals the credit they deserve!

Good scares and great looks.
krypton_son30 November 2016
There is no other way to describe Naked Zombie Girl other then fun, scary and sexy. Everything about this short is so well done. Great makeup, great special effects, beautiful women, and the acting isn't half bad either. This is feature length quality that you don't see very often in a short film. I think the worst thing about it is that it was never made into a feature length film. It has a real grindhouse feel and great looking zombies. There are so many zombie movies that are professionally made that don't come close to the feel and look of this short. If you like zombies, horror movies and beautiful women, you can't go wrong with this.

Loved it! Need a sequel.
texasboyy12 November 2021
Really enjoyed this. It's a hardcore homage to grindhouse movies and a lot of fun. Also, kudos to Meghan Chadeayne for really committing to the role. Not many actresses would do that. She did a terrific job. Now I'm hoping for a sequel. Bring on Naked Zombie Girl 2: Full Frontal Attack!

Raw and awesome. Totally worth checking out.
justin-209-1527963 September 2017
You know what you're getting into here. It's gory, it's campy, it's balls to the wall and it's perfect. It's very pulpy and very graphic. I definitely recommend it based on the care the filmmakers obviously took and the love for the genre that they obviously have. Take a peek! You'll be glad you did.

Classic Elements
oldwb5 June 2019
Naked Zombie Girl I admit I was intrigued by the title, and felt my viewing time was not wasted. This short has all the tropes that might be expected, opening with travel along a lonely highway with an infected companion, directly to engine trouble and the mob of undead with an appetite for the flesh of the living sliming up the windshield. Now welcome to the splatterfest. We are confronted with an unsettling montage as the score sets the tone. With the exception of the overdone strobe effects, this is big-production values in a small package. Our feisty heroine comes off as more capable than expected, surviving many tight situations. Many an homage to the classics, is the ending The End? Titles are reminiscent of 1960's B horror movies. Oh, and Zombie Girl is naked.
