Good show

Contrary to what powersx2 says, this show it interesting and well-written. It is not a preachy liberal mess but actually has some engaging story lines. I like it because the show doesn't always end the way the viewer feels it should. It's realistic as to how the law would dictate decision. Don't let reviews using trigger words like "preachy" and "liberal" dissuade you from watching this show. The cast is an interesting group and the addition of Tony Goldwyn has made it more interesting so far. The cast is not as memorable as Benson or Stabler, but give it time. While not as engaging as SVU or Organized Crime, it's still worth checking out.

A comic in New York
safenoe15 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Tyler Thomas Moore plays the victim Ellis Joyner in this controversial episode (well, most Law and Order episodes are controversial). Ellis is an up and rising comic trying to make it big in New York, until tragically his life is cut short in the subway. The prosecution lifts the lid on an cop who's undercover in the MMA organization that's more than what it seems. Zak Orth plays defense attorney Harry Kagan, and he resembles John Goodman, and he could play Goodman in a biopic. Daniel Marconi, who plays the accused Brandon Arnou, has a resemblance to Fred Savage, and again he could play Savage in a biopic.

This is more of what it used to be

Warning: Spoilers
Finally this reboot is getting better. It's certainly taken a while before it got to some interesting episodes.

It's really sad that McCoy /Sam Waterston has left. I don't know if I like the new one yet. I'm sure he'll probably grow on us all.

However, I do like this episode because it finally put in some twists and went in different directions apart from just having the murderer on trial.

Sure they usually have things uncovered while they're trying a person but this was different. I really can't believe they found this person not guilty as to me there's been some in the previous episodes I was surprised were not found not guilty.

What happened
powersx226 March 2024
What happened to this show? Who is writing it? It's a shame because there are some good actors in it but it plays like a giant preachy, liberal mess at this point. It is pushing a one way narrative that is brutal to sit through. The show used to be so good at showing both sides but no more. It is anti-law enforcement (real law) and pro criminal. It wastes solid performances from its cast on a regular basis. If Angie Harmon were still on this show her character would come off more as a villain with this writing. Lenny Briscoe would be up on charges. Fontana would be portrayed as a supremacist. These were the characters we all loved. They are long, long gone. RIP L&O.

Facade

Warning: Spoilers
Another ripped from the headlines episode, but one that was definitely politically-driven from Dick Wolf and company. Nothing that wrong with that, whether you agree with him or not, you know the show is going to do that.

My bigger issue is with Nolan and his behavior as an ADA. Your goal is a fair trial for everyone, and he knew there was no evidence to go for murder in this case, or really even manslaughter. This is not debate club and he was not after the truth but trying to win an argument he was on the wrong side of.

At least the jury ruled the correct way, but this is not ADA behavior in the least.
