If the job was easy, it wouldn't be fun.

Warning: Spoilers
They finally revealed how they managed to get Coulson back and it was better than I expected.

While I haven't been the biggest fan of Skye, I still wanted her to pull through as their is so much of her story that is left to explore. The lengths that the team goes to in order to save her. In the last episode, Coulson claimed that the team was Skye's family, which I didn't really buy. However, with their actions and words in this episode I am actually starting to buy that these teammates really do kind of love each other.

It was incredible that Bill Paxton made an appearance. Such an amazing actor that is enjoyable in practically everything he's in. He is clearly having a blast playing his role as Ward's former S.O, John Garrett. Hopefully that relationship means that he will be back in later episodes. Triplett was fun too as he proved to be a good fighter against Ward and had a great personality, especially shown with Simmons.

The big reveal this episode was how Coulson was brought back. Apparently, Fury used blood from a blue alien that supposedly has powers that can bring people back from the dead. Seeing Coulson so distraught after seeing it was pretty creepy, especially after the things he's seen. Now, Skye is going to be much more intriguing, with alien blood pumping through her veins. Coulson has it too, but we don't really know if it could affect him.

I did like the interrogation of Quinn especially when Garrett made his threats. It was nice to see Quinn get what he deserves.

+ Bill Paxton! + Alien resurrection?! + Team actually feels like a family + Quinn's interrogation

Final Score: 9.1/10

3rd best SHIELD Episode!
cwf979 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This S.H.I.E.L.D. focuses on a more in-depth version of Coulson's revival from the Magical Place episode. This in-depth version makes a whole lot of sense on how Coulson got revived. This episode is also the first to connect to The Winter Soldier movie. My favorite part is the medicine coming from an alien. The alien is confirmed to be Kree. Skye later turned out to be an Inhuman. The episode is well-written, full of character development and establishes some new conflicts. Ian Quinn is an idiot because John Garrett told him to shoot Skye. This episode and series puts the science in "science fiction". It wasn't as good as "Turn, Turn, Turn" or "The Things We Bury".

Rewatch thoughts

Warning: Spoilers
This episode continues the intense dive into the Coulson mystry, and drops probably the biggest bombshell, Kree?! even before they got introduced in GotG! it also introduces 2 new characters that I instantly loved the first time, but on rewatch It's hard to tell because I already have some history with them. The episode has one downside though, it's this obsession with Skye the show dives into every once in a while, It doesn't allways bother me, it can be frustrating though, and they do tone it down in future seasons but this was one of the early examples of overdoing it! with the whole team going above and beyond to save her, I suppose May says they would have done the same for any of the agents, but I dunno, the fact that they kill the 2 guards in the facility to save her always bothered me, though I was surprised to find out upon re-watch that only Garret outright kills one of them (hindsight alert !) and the other sorta bleeds out, they said they would help him but they didn't put much effort into it, still, I'd say I'm finally letting this one grudge go, I've seen these agents do much good, I'll excuse them letting a random guy die...it's nice to finnaly make peace with this, Knew this re-watch was a good idea.

They got free pass to enter anywhere and kill people...
campodelviolin23 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS AHEAD

When I was watching this episode I realize how careless the writers of the show are.

Basically this episode is about how the team enter by FORCE to a (Deus EX) facility and start shooting people with the excuse of save a member of their team. There is never a mention of how illegal this could be, how wrong this could be, or what message they are sending to the audience. It's like they don't even care.

Finally they kill the guards, steal a miraculous drug, and they back to the plane where they give the drug to Skye, and then -you can watch how bad the direction of this show is- all the members of the team are formed in a conga line watching the Skye's rebirth.

This show needs better Writers and Directors so badly.

T.R.A.C.K.S. was great, T.A.H.I.T.I. just detracts.

Warning: Spoilers
I found this episode to be virulent. Overall, I've enjoyed the show immensely and the previous installment, T.R.A.C.K.S., was a fun narrative foray. T.A.H.I.T.I., however, went down a moral dilemma rabbit hole that only detracted from the story by introducing a banal break in character. Don't get me wrong, there are promising bits of cohesive plot development wrapped around some clever arching and the story clearly moves forward.

In this episode, our airborne heroes go underground to root out a miracle drug to save Skye. In the process, they torture and beat a prisoner, disobey direct orders, break into a classified facility, and even kill two agents who were guilty of nothing more than doing their jobs. There was absolutely no excuse for this type of shitty writing. It was the first AOS epi I had to force myself to finish. I give this series an easy 7.5 (at least what I've seen so far) but this episode got a 4.

Horribly bad story
p-baenziger14 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I generally like agents of shield, but the story of this episode is just very badly written. It's morally highly questionable and has more flaws than an average story made up by a five year old. This is not hyperbole.

Lots of spoilers ahead.

One of their team members is dying, and the team thinks that a miracle drug to save her might be in a SHIELD storage area which they miraculously know the location of. They decide to get the drug despite being told that doing so gives the big bad guy a big advantage. Since the guards on site do not let them enter the premises, they enter by force and murder the guards, in order to possibly maybe save one member of their team. They also blow up the entire multi-million dollar facility in the process. Then one agent finds out the drug is harvested from an alien body so he changes his mind and thinks they shouldn't use the drug to save one member of their team, after having murdered the guards. Did I mention that nobody in the team - or in the other SHIELD team which also shows up - thinks there's a problem with killing SHIELD people and blowing up SHIELD facilities?

The whole episode doesn't make any sense, start to finish.
