Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places
Uriah4310 October 2020
This film begins with an attractive woman known simply as "Mo" (Weruche Opia) receiving a phone call from an old friend named "Jennifer" (Beverly Naya) excitedly telling her that she is now engaged to be married. Although Mo is happy for her friend she is also somewhat depressed by the fact that she is still single and has had no real romantic relationships in years. So to remedy her situation she talks with her two closest friends, "Tseju" (Oreka Godis) and "Tobe" (Gideon Okeke) to get their advice. However, rather than listening to Tobe who suggests that she should just be patient and not do anything rash, she chooses Tseju's recommendation to go on some blind dates instead. What follows is a series of disasters which complicates things even more. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a cute rom-com which had a nice plot and some good acting overall with the aforementioned Weruche Opia performing best of all in my opinion. Admittedly, I would have preferred a bit more comedy here and there but other than that I enjoyed this film for the most part and I have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.

Relatable

This was a very well acted Nollywood film. My experience with previous films from Africa that I've watched haven't been acted well. Though tolerable most are hard to take serious because of the overacting or lack there of. Don't want to offend anyone just saying this was a breath of fresh air. If you like romcoms this is a definite watcher (my word) 😉

Warning: Spoilers
Saturday 30 May 2020: Thanks to Net Flicks, I get to watch movies and t.v shows made in Africa with an all African cast and also in Israel, my favorite county in the Middle East. I really enjoyed watching this film. African actress, Beverly Naya is good in all of her roles as I have seen her in a few. This movie ended the way I knew that it would. The whole cast is good. The only disappointing thing was it took to long for the ending scenes to happen. I wanted to see Mo and Tobe get married and a little more of them in the end.
