Very underrated series

Koichi Kamiya is a normal student, but one day, a mysterious voice wakes him up from his dream, and asks him to fight against evil in the name of Babel II. The next day, he meets Juju, Wong and the powerful Lord Yomi, who is trying to gather a powerful group of people with psychic powers to take over the world. But first, he needs Babel's Legacy, a tremendous power which can only be used by Babel's successor, and this successor is, of course, Koichi. With the help of Rohdem the black panther, Robross the giant bird and Poseidon the giant robot, he will protect the Earth from Yomi's evil forces.

Even though a lot might prefer the 80's and 90's series but to be honest I kinda prefer this one as we do get a bit more depth on Koichi as a character plus he has friends this time then being some loner.

The art style is an improvement and while the dub still isn't perfect it's still miles better then what the OVA got. At least Koichi sounds like a teenager now.

Yumiko is at least a better love interest then Juju, cause she actually cared for him and knew him as a child. However, I will say one of the miss leading things I did find was especially on the posters of this series and in the title is that Yumiko is presented as one of the main character even though she was only in like 5/13 episodes on top that they show situations where she is being saved by the main character but in the actual she is hardly put in any danger and the only time where she is even saved was from a building pole or whatever and that was it.

Also many of the characters such as the Chinese girl were very under-utilised.

Aside from hand though I did enjoy this series.
