Whoa.

I was really hoping that the intriguing finesse and quality direction wasn't a first-episode- only kind of thing. I'm happy to see that the show has continued to expand its dramatic depth into the second episode! I give props to the creators and directors for giving us two quite impressive episodes in a row. Let's talk improvements.

It seems that the brothers will no longer be sopping over each other with their emotional issues and incompatibilities. It feels fresh to relive an "older days" version of their brotherhood (so far at least), instead of a constant cycle of bickering at each other about who's right.

The execution of some of their storytelling tactics has greatly been improved. It seems they took the time to analyze just how much more improvement there could be and they really capitalized on it. The effect of Sam's hallucinations, the soundtrack-less menacing introduction, the deliverance of our characters storyline, the cinematography, the serious acting, the transitions, etc.

I haven't felt this intrigued since the rise of Lucifer. Very excited for Jensen's directorial debut episode next week!

Amara

I think the Amara part was rather good so was Sam's, the reapernwas good too but her singing death's entry song was a tad too much. I am sick of angel drama and torture scenes Crowley was definitely the highlight but can they not strangely nerf him all the time.

Season 11.

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler Alerts. Season 11 has been the best season I have ever seen on Supernatural. The Darkness arch was really strong and I loved how Amara and Dean's relationship was with its romance. My favourite episode was episode 22. My least favourite is Episode 23. Episode 22 was great because God and Amara finally had their battle. Episode 23 was not the best because it left the Sam cliffhanger and introduced the British Men of letters, which should have been left until Season 12. This season also reminds me of Season 1 with episode 21 being fantastic and episode 22 being disappointing because of the cliffhanger. This show after 11 years has been doing excellent. Keep on going Supernatural for at least another 11 Seasons.

The tonal problems of the season are really apparent.

The writers clearly tried to make this season darker and more serious. It takes a little bit for them to find the right balance between the prior seasons' goofiness and this more visceral, grounded season. This is one of the episodes that really suffer from the tonal shift. I really dislike the humor that Father Crowley brings. It is too gallows humor for the show and it is too glib given the history of the Catholic church. Everything is just a bit too intense here.
