Good Movie with a Compelling Message
elizabethjeanhampton12 July 2022
We enjoyed this uplifting movie - a very positive story with a message of hope. The main characters were strong, relatable, and believable. Especially the little girl who I expect will have a full acting career ahead.

We need more movies like this!

This is a wonderful movie. There are so few movies available with no language, no sexual perversions, etc. If you are looking for a great family (or anyone) movie with a wonderful story, this is yours! The person who gave a 2 rating is way off base.

Wrestling with the 8 star rating

Sorry, but at 49:38 seconds into this weird karate kid wanna be movie, the main actress herself says, "this is so bad". Obviously she is not referring to this film, although those words resonate. This movie is bad. I mean bad. Horrible acting, cheese script, horrible acting, a story told one to many times, and no redeeming qualities. It is just a train wreck.

Very Impressive Movie

Ken Stewart gives a moving performance as C. K. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, the characters and the directing. With all of today's movies with so few actors that you can care about, this little movie provided touching, realistic humans struggling with life - especially with Ken Stewart's portrayal of an ordinary man surviving a tragic past.

Hallmark movie acting

We were fooled by the 7.8 rating. Gave it 30 minutes hoping it would get better. Really poor acting, predictable story. If you're under 10 or over 90 this may be a movie for you.

Renewing Faith

This movie brings the lost, pain, & restoration of 2 families dealing with grief together. In doing so shows us that God is there even in our darkest times. It has a powerful ending.

Religious message ruins promising story.
graham-8387210 January 2023
I got almost halfway through this film but the religious claptrap became too overwhelming. I'm sad that I was unable to finish the story . I liked the characters but I wish Pop could have been an atheist. Perhaps the story of his time as a POW could be turned on its head with his life being saved by an atheist. He then might have realised that a belief in a supernatural being is unnecessary basis for morality.

Or course, it might be difficult to find a scriptwriter in the USA who would be capable of rewriting.the story as most of them don't seem -at least to me - to understand how an atheist thinks.
