Still on the fence with this show.

I'm still on the fence about this show. The murder cases are simple and predictable. I'm waiting for the story lines to get a little better. What makes me keep watching is Tom Ellis. It was funny seeing Rebecca DeMornay play the EXACT SAME type of character she played in Jessica Jones. I thought it was a crossover for a second. Girl: you are awesome, so don't let them typecast you like that.

Banging punchline
hortonstrip29 March 2016
This is the first time i have failed to suspend disbelief during this series - epic fail as it's central conceit is so silly in the first place, (not to mention the notion of a nightclub owner being encouraged to help solve crimes), but much more could have been made from that dinner party disaster, it just seemed rushed to it's conclusion and seemed unbelievable, which was a pity. The show runner should have asked Mike Leigh along, that kind of thing.

However the glorious punchline at the end of this episode made it an absolute pleasure to watch, as usual, just total comedy gold. I nearly did a little wee with joy!

[7.6] The lion turning into a kitten

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 10: An interesting one with smoother developing storyline sub-plots, charming acting with chemistry and funniness almost as always between the leads, shininess and emotions with Maze and a cheesy funny ending that happened for the first time.

Not quite believable, but exteriorized nicely with the help of liquid courage.

Interesting episode.

Another good episode of Lucifer. The growing bond between Chloe and Lucifer seems natural and not at all forced. There are a couple of really good scenes in this one and the ending is both surprising and very funny! Can't wait for the next one.

Mommy Dearest

The murder case is the death of a restauranteur, who was in turn a renowned chef, a beloved father figure to his staff, and an overbearing tyrant.

If Police detective Chloe Decker considered that her life could not possibly have become any more fraught, then she was sadly mistaken when her mother Penelope Decker, suddenly burst back on her scene.

There is clearly unsettled family matters between them which may, remain unresolved while mum appears to remain self obsessed, especially in desiring to get her granddaughter Trixie involved in her plans.

Lucifer meets mum Penelope and gets invited to her family get together, while Chloe decides to invite her ex Dan as a 'buffer' from her mum.

Is Chloe really as anally fixated as she appears to be, could she ever really manage to unwind properly?

Just why has Mazikeen decided to join Lucifer in therapy, and why has she decided to confide in the self same doctor Linda Martin?

What exactly are detective Dan Espinoza's true motivations, especially concerning Lucifer Morningstar?

Meh

Didn't like this episode very much. The outcome of the case is predictable and I find the interaction between Penelope and the rest of cast, especially the dinner, very hard to watch. It's not that I hated it, I just think there are many, many episodes that are better.

The only thing I really loved, was the growth of Mazikeen and her interaction with Trixie and Linda. Also, the end (fight with Dan and Malcolm, scene in the penthouse with Chloe drunk) was very good and enjoyable.

At last, maybe less relevant, but I really loved the light in the penthouse. The light in the first season is quite blue and cold, but not in that scene!
