It wasn’t during her first date with Jonathan Scott that Zooey Deschanel recognized the Property Brothers star as “the one.” In fact, the New Girl alum knew before their first date even began they were a match. What Deschanel described as a “dream” move on her now-fiancé’s part and how they had instant “chemistry.”
Jonathan’s ‘schedule’ for the first date ‘impressed’ Zooey
Scott and Deschanel, who met in 2019 while filming Carpool Karaoke (more on that later), had a three-part first date. They kicked it off with dinner followed by a visit to an escape room and, finally, karaoke.
But it wasn’t the sheer volume of activities Deschanel found impressive. Rather, Scott gave her a schedule for the evening.
“The very first date we went on, you were impressed because I sent you a schedule,” Scott recalled in an October 2023 People interview. “I was like, ‘Oh my God.

Olivia Rodrigo recently revealed how she’s gotten into ’80s new wave bands like Depeche Mode and The Cure, and now, she’s named a more current favorite in Rage Against the Machine.
In a new cover story with Rolling Stone, Rodrigo opened up about some of the influences for her excellent sophomore album, Guts. While speaking about the opening track, “All-American Bitch,” she credited two bands as inspiration: Babes in Toyland and Rage Against the Machine.
Rodrigo remembered sleeping with a turntable next to her bed at the age of 14 and being awoken by her mom putting on Babes in Toyland’s sophomore album, Fontanelle, which she would listen to while getting dressed. “Rock in that feminine way, that’s just the coolest thing in the world to me,” she said about the Kat Bjelland-led band.

Ninety-two films have been entered in the Oscar race for Best International Feature Film, one less than the category’s record of 93 set in 2020 and tied last year.
The 92 films do not constitute the Academy’s official list of qualifying films, which will likely be announced in early December before the start of shortlist voting. But Academy members who volunteered to participate in that first round of voting have been split into 11 different groups, and those 92 movies make up the films that voters have been asked to view and consider.
The group assignments were emailed to Academy members on Friday, and TheWrap has assembled this list from the films assigned to the 11 different groups.
There is still a chance that some films could fail to meet all of the qualifying criteria and be dropped from the final list. Last year, though, every one of the 93 films assigned to voters ended...

“Vision Quest,” a new Marvel Studios series focusing on Paul Bettany’s title android superhero character, is in the works at Disney+, TheWrap has learned. The series, along with “Agatha: House of Harkness,” marks the second spinoff show based on the popular “WandaVision.”
The show is set to open a writers room next week, and will focus on Vision’s attempts to regain his memory and humanity. The character made his last appearance in the eponymous “WandaVision,” which was set after his death in “Avengers: Infinity War” and showed him as a projection of Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) grief.
Toward the end of “WandaVision,” the so-called White Vision was employed as a weapon to destroy Wanda, the fake Vision and their creation of the Westview anomaly. Given the fact that the character has experienced a “rebirth” of sorts, the series is likely to pick up in the aftermath of the show’s finale,...

A second WandaVision spinoff series focusing on Paul Bettany’s Vision is in the works at Marvel Studios for Disney+, sources tell Deadline.
Titled Vision Quest, the potential series, which is opening a writers room next week, will be about The Vision (Bettany) trying to regain his memory and humanity, I hear. While the focus is on Vision, word is there is a possibility for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters’ stories are in the MCU.
Like with the other WandaVision spinoff, the greenlighted series Agatha: House of Harkness headlined by Kathryn Hahn, Vision Quest is overseen by WandaVision creator, writer and executive producer Jac Schaeffer, I hear. Reps for Marvel Studios and Bettany declined comment.
The new spinoff is being unofficially referred to by some as the White Vision project after the most recent on-screen version of the character.

While many gamers associate the Snes with a simpler time filled with all-time great games that were often appropriate for the whole family, the truth is that quite a few notable Snes games were actually censored ports.
As we previously discussed in our look at some of the most notable censored Nes games, it’s not entirely accurate to suggest that games back then were so much darker than you ever dared dream. Most instances of Snes censorship can actually be attributed to cultural differences. Others were likely implemented due to the fact that the Esrb wasn’t founded until 1994. Without a standardized rating game rating system in place, Nintendo was often better off playing it safe when it came to even potentially objectionable content.
From the silly to the genuinely shocking, there are 15 Snes games you didn’t know were censored.

While many of those who grew up with the Super Nintendo (arguably Nintendo’s greatest console) wouldn’t trade their memories of it away for anything, the 30 years since the console’s North American release have made it clear that the value of its incredible library of games goes well beyond nostalgia.
At a time when the market for collectible video games is going through an unbelievable boom period, retro gamers everywhere are taking mental and physical inventory of their classic game collections in the hopes (or horror) of discovering that one of the games they owned is secretly worth a fortune. At the risk of disappointing some, though, it turns out that many of the Snes’ most valuable games are only valuable because so few people owned them.

Neil Young has moved from the fireside of the home he shares with actress Daryl Hannah to their barn for the newest chapter of his ongoing Fireside Sessions streaming concert series. They are calling it a Barnyard Edition.
The session begins in a large field where Young plays his 2014 Storytone tune “Tumbleweed” on the ukulele, which was the standard show closer at his 2017 and 2018 solo acoustic shows. The action then moves near a barn where he plays “Homegrown” as chickens mill about and feed. After noodling around for a bit...

Neil Young has just shared his fourth Fireside Sessions digital concert on the Neil Young Archives. Like the previous three editions, it’s an intimate, acoustic set filmed by his wife, actress Daryl Hannah, at their home. It’s packed with rarities and fan favorites.
The show begins with an outdoor performance of the Harvest Moon tune “One of These Days” near a fire as the sun sets in the background. He moves inside to sit by their fireplace and sing “Good to See You,” a song from Silver and...

Ok, so we’re going through a very scary, very weird and very unsure time in human history right now. Many of us are staying home, working, and then making sure we have things to focus on. I figured I’d compile a list of ten video games that are big, deep and exquisitely complex that would be perfect for falling into right now. Let’s go.
10. The Outer Worlds
Now, there are more deserving games for this list, sure, but I wanted to have most, if not all, of these titles to be modern ones that are easy to buy as digital copies. Now… The Outer Worlds is a game I don’t hear much about, and it’s a shame. Feeling like Fallout and Bioshock had a baby, this sci-fi action Fps has fun RPG elements, crew-building and a bunch of humour that takes it to a new level.

Although I’ve toyed around with Stardew Valley, My Time at Portia, and the Harvest Moon franchise, often with limited results despite the invested time and energy, none of these farm management adventures hooked me quite like Rune Factory 4. And while I missed the game’s original release on the 3Ds, Nintendo has granted the adventure a second life on the Nintendo Switch with Rune Factory 4 Special. And even though the game opens with the ol’ “amnesia” plot device that seems to plague every other Jrpg since the beginning of time, you won’t mind the developers leaning heavily on the hero’s lack of memory as a framework upon which to hang its story. Rune Factory 4 comes with so much charm and magic that you can forgive the game its shortcomings, of which there are few. At every turn, the positives easily overpower and overshadow the negatives.

Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone shares a few details about two mysterious projects.
Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone (aka Concerned Ape) has confirmed that he is currently working on two new games and has even shared a few hints as to what they may be.
"Yes, I'm actually working on a couple of new projects," says Barone. "One takes place in the world of Stardew Valley but is not a farming game. The other, I'm not 100% sure about the world yet, but it will tie into Stardew Valley in some way."
Barone has mentioned that he's working on new games in the past, but ht has also indicated that he would prefer to focus on the continuing development of Stardew Valley rather than talk too much about those projects. As such, we're not entirely sure where he is on the development of either game or even what...

Getting 37,000 people to a remote, rural amphitheater in East Troy, Wisconsin, for Farm Aid isn’t hard when the bill features Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Luke Combs, Bonnie Raitt, John Mellencamp, and several other big names. Getting them to stay for 12 hours in a downpour that turned the packed lawn (where the vast majority of people sat) into a sea of mud is much harder. It required a pretty spectacular show, one that left people so stunned they stayed put hour after hour even though most of them couldn’t...

Neil Young and Crazy Horse have shared the first song from their upcoming album Colorado, a gentle love ballad (especially by Crazy Horse standards) titled “Milky Way.” Young has performed the song several times at concerts over the past few months – both solo acoustic and with Promise of the Real – but Colorado marks the first time Crazy Horse have tackled it.
Colorado, available to preorder now ahead of its October 25th release date, was cut in April at the Studio in the Clouds recording facility just outside the Colorado ski resort of Telluride.

His new Crazy Horse album Colorado is coming out in October, and he announced that leadoff single, “Rainbow of Colors,” will arrive this month. “Ten new songs ranging from around 3 minutes to over 13 minutes,” Young wrote on his Neil Young Archives website. “We hope you love this new album as much as we do.”

Near the end of the new documentary, David Crosby: Remember My Name, the 77-year-old singer looks directly into the camera and makes a startling admission. “I still have friends,” he says. “But all the guys that I made music with won’t even talk to me — all of them. All of them. One of them hating my guts could be an accident. But [Roger] McGuinn, [Graham] Nash, Neil [Young] and Stephen [Stills] all really dislike me, strongly. I don’t know quite how to undo it.”

A new Leon Bridges song will premiere in the final episode of Season 2 of HBO’s “Big Little Lies” and be featured on the second soundtrack for the series.
“He had great timing,” says music supervisor Simon Astall. “We got this demo for a song that’s going to be on his next album and it worked in episode seven.”
Titled “That Was Yesterday,” its placement is part of the producers’ use of songs and specific artists as a connective tissue from season to season and even episode to episode. It’s the music of Charles Bradley and Ann Pebbles, the sound of Janis Joplin, and songs such as Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” that work their way into multiple episodes. Sunday night’s episode closed with a show-commissioned cover of Timmy Thomas’ “Why Can’t We Live Together” by My Morning Jacket’s Jim James...

You will need to possess one very important trait before you jump straight into Stardew Valley-esque wonderland of My Time at Portia: patience. If you do not have the patience for games that take their sweet time getting to the proverbial good stuff, then you will not make it beyond the first few hours of this engaging open-world crafting/RPG/farm management title — it simply will not happen. However, while the game often stumbles between balancing these different genres, the positives aspects certainly outweigh the negatives by a very wide margin. That said, again, you’ll need to prepare yourself for the long haul. My Time at Portia gives you precisely what you put into it, so if you don’t fancy yourself a fan of the aforementioned Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, or Animal Crossing, this game will not change your time at all. Portia, thankfully, recognizes and appreciates its niche,...

“It’s anybody’s game,” said Dmitry Sholokhov at the beginning of the “Project Runway All Stars” season finale. He had won the show twice before and was going for an unprecedented three-peat, but this season of “All Stars” featured nothing but past champions, so he was up against fellow Us winners Michelle Lesniak and Irina Shabayeva as well as Canadian “Runway” victor Evan Biddell. Who was named the “Runway” world champion at the end of the night?

Get your tools ready for harvest as the action-rpg/farming sim franchise, Rune Factory, comes to the Nintendo Switch this year with a remake with more to come. Check out the first trailer for Rune Factory 4 Remaster.
Rune Factory!!! I can't begin to even try and explain my fascination with this weird little franchise. It started, essentially, as a spin-off of the Harvest Moon series, wherein you build up a farm, harvest crops and make friends throughout the town. On top of that, however, you must battle your way through various dungeons (akin to Legend of Zelda), while also befriending other monsters who can help manage your farm or battle alongside you (Pokemon style). On top of all that are some Jrpg story elements.
It's an ecclectic mix of genres that somehow ridiculously addicting. When I try to tell anyone about the games, I get a weird look, but I absolutely love playing them.

Country and folk storytellers have never had any problem portraying the rush of instant love or the devastation of heartbreak. Writing about the rich complexity of long-lasting love has generally proved much more difficult. Nashville singer-songwriter Caroline Spence does just that on “Mint Condition,” the title ballad to her upcoming album.
“Some things they last, and some things, they won’t,” she sings, before harmonizing with Emmylou Harris on the chorus: “Oh, but nothing ’bout you ever gets old.”
Spence is interested in exploring the ways in which love hardens and deepens with time,...

‘A Quiet Place’ sound editors Erik Aadahl and Ethan Van der Ryn on ‘sound being a central character’
John Krasinski labelled his sound designers on “A Quiet Place,” Erik Aadahl and Ethan Van der Ryn, as “sound magicians” in my recent interview with the actor-director. In turn, they’re full of compliments for him: “He has an amazing ear,” says Aadahl. “He can pick out the tiniest little details hidden in the track, which was wonderful for us because it really gave us the license to dig in and take it as far as we could with a filmmaker who had our backs. He was always in the trenches with us.”
As a team, Aadahl and Van der Ryn have been nominated for the Best Sound Editing Oscar twice: once in 2012 for “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and again the year after for Best Picture winner “Argo,” another film helmed by an actor-turned-director (Ben Affleck).
