Historical fiction is what this is sobI expect creative license. However, it seems foolish to me that on her wedding Elizabeth goes off at that very moment on route to the church with her parents to join the rebellion but she doesn't bother to change her wedding dress which is unrealitic. I guess it adds to the drama. The Irish rebellion was starting but it seems poorly planned. The people decide to loot the stores while there is fighting gunfire in the streets. Not everyone is on board with rebellion many sympathize to stay under British rule and not rock the boat. Woman try to fight with men as equals. The rebellsxare rounded up to be shot, some of the military are Irish and struggle with orders to kill thier kin.
