I was hoping for more...
thomsbateman8 April 2019
I've been an avid fan of this wonderful show and loved every episode, usually breaking down in tears at least once during an episode. This one left me feeling a bit let down, so many of the characters seemed to be missing. Maybe not enough joy to balance the sadness with this one.

Why do men get a pass when it comes to abortion?

I was disappointed in how they handled the episode on abortion. It put the entire emphasis on the woman and barely mentioned the man who got her pregnant. Why do men get a pass when it comes to unwanted pregnancies? Why didn't they express more outrage at him for his lack of responsibility. Overall, I like this show, but I felt this episode continued the same bias against woman that society has where this issue is concerned.

The Poor Sister Monica Joan is early this series
fh_317 April 2021
In reality would someone like Sister Monica Joan be allowed to rant and be disobedient even in 1964? Part of the order is obedience. I understand her character is old and would receive respect but she is a brat and stubborn as well as showing more signs of dementia. Her character can no longer function medically or in a support function. The Mother House seems a better place for her. Her character is become stale and tiresome.

Same old thing really

Warning: Spoilers
Nothing new at all. I know there are only so many ways to deliver a baby, but still. There could be better stories between deliveries. And sick Monica Joan runs off.....again. She can be funny, but I think it might be time to do away with her character. (Or maybe with the show itself). The delivery of the last of the triplets was intended to be dramatic what with the loud and crazy music and the "wait and see" if baby comes around; but not only did they fail miserably in the attempt, the music was just plain annoying. I don't like the new nun, Francis. I just don't like her face. I am not in any way being mean, it's just one of those things. And I'm kind of sick of seeing pinch-faced Trixie and her issues with alcohol. Basically a disappointing 1st episode of the season.
