Walkies

Barbara Wood house became famous on tv in later years and "walked was her catchword. This short was an entertaining filler for children's matinees on a Saturday morning.

A delightful slice of life with animal trainer Barbara Woodhouse

Warning: Spoilers
JUNO HELPS OUT is another likable short film from Children's Film Foundation. This one's a star vehicle for none other than renowned animal trainer Barbara Woodhouse, who stars in the production alongside her real-life family members and her own dog, a Great Dane named Juno. The story is basically a slice-of-life comedy revealing how Juno helps out with daily chores when the mother is invalided and two children find themselves tasked with running a busy household.

For animal lovers, this one's a real treat and Juno is one of the most fascinating dogs I've seen on screen. The amount of stuff she does is incredible. In addition, the story is fast-paced and involving, and the child actors are also a delight, a surprise given their inexperience. The kitchen hijinks are naturally funny and contain the kind of slapstick humour that works so well on the screen. JUNO HELPS OUT is a delightful viewing and one of the best CFF productions I've seen yet.
