Load of irritating rubbish!

Warning: Spoilers
Load of irritating rubbish!

Irritating on two - main - counts:

i. Like that "TAPS Ghost Hunters" trash - they treat their audience like idiots. Constantly, they interrupt by cutting to close ups to say exactly what we've just already seen!!! For example, we see them coming to a locked door in the caves, and indicating that it's locked from the other side. Then, a few seconds later, they cut to one of the team saying "We came to a closed door and noticed it was locked from the other side". WHAT???!! We know that! We just saw that in the filming. Again, like the TAPS rubbish... this goes on constantly! We're not idiots!

ii. Annoying regular boring narration from this Kay Nambiar bloke! What's his purpose??? Why is this 'glamour-boy' there exactly?

Looking at their opening sequence/credits, they're obviously trying (unsuccessfully) to compete with the excellent "Ghost Adventure" guys, led by Zak Bagans and Aaron Goodwin (now, there's a well produced programme). I'm afraid this Ghost Chasers is a load of badly-produced tripe, and isn't fit to scrub the shoes-soles of the Ghost Adventure guys.

The only one I have time for is Ian Lawman... would be good to see him occasionally team up with Zak and team.

I won't be watching Ghost Chasers again.

Kinda rubbish but good for a laugh and also agitation

Warning: Spoilers
Let's be honest, this show is a pile of nonsense and all of it is an utter joke. They show no gjosys, and all of their supposed "evidence" is vague and incredibly insubstantial. For instance they claim they see shadows moving in a room when it's clearly being cast by one of the other team members.

On the subject of that psychic Ian, he's about as convincing as any other psychic, which is to say not at all.

Even the guy who claims to be a skeptic of it all clearly is playing into the scam. He often tries to come up with scientific explanations for the goings on, but doesn't once stop to ask if the guy who claims he's a psychic is actually a psychics, or if psychics even exist for that matter.

To be honest I'm not sure why I've wasted 5 minutes writing but you should be aware that this show is only really good for laughing at the idiots who star in it.

Many thanks

It's OK but stuck up
Angels_Review6 August 2021
So I am a believer of paranormal activity as I had my own experiences with it. That said, a lot of their interactions and science feels broken. A phone can have interference when using a app to pick up anything yet they use it as proof.

I also have a problem with their psychic. Some of what he says are red flags to me, from him saying spirits will not do something over again to his distaste of the taxidermy in episode 5. Now his distaste was not the huge problem but the fact that his own views seemed to come out time and time again. He stated he was a vegetarian and was against any sort of taxidermy so almost everything he talked about in that location was about that. It felt more like he was pushing his views on the matter then actually being a psychic.

I wish they would try to make things more entertaining and only do one place per episode as they don't seem to be there long enough to do any form of investigating. I understand some places don't have much going on, but then don't make it sound like there is a lot after.

Irritating
almanac-391783 December 2019
This show gets several black marks against it. Firstly, there's a "medium" on the team. That immediately puts me off; they're all frauds, who either know it or are so delusional they actually believe in their own "abilities". Unlike the superior Ghost Adventures, it's humourless. Lastly, the makers' grasp of science is laughable. Here's how their captions describe electromagnetism, one of the four basic forces of nature:

"Phenomenon on how atoms interact. AKA 'The Force' in Star Wars. Scientists believe it can alter space and time."

These captions had me alternately laughing with derision and frowning in incredulity.

The best thing about this show is the hot main presenter, Kay Nambiar. I'd gladly see more of him on any type of show.

A more objective counterpoint to the sensationalistic American "paranormal" shows
acerbus_84 June 2017
Most "paranormal" shows are all about horror imagery, hysteria and a lot of jumping to conclusions. I get the reasoning behind, as the producers are most likely identifying a target audience of horror fans. Which makes sense targeting-wise. But which absolutely don't make sense to me, when these shows over and over again claim the merits of their "scientific" approach. I've often been annoyed by, for instance, Ghost Adventures, where the host will jump to conclusions about demonic hauntings from a small tidbit he got before his "investigation" has begun, only to claim multiple times during an episode how "scientific" his approach is.

Ghost Chasers manage to offer a more objective counterpoint to the sensationalistic approach of most American "paranormal" shows.

The team behind adopt the role of (somewhat) skeptic. Instead of almost everything being construed as paranormal. Most of the time the team of Ghost Chasers offer up more mundane explanations for some of their experiences, where most other shows would've called it demons or sassy witchings or super haunted portals to the afterlife of hell or whatever.

I love the fact that there isn't any horror imagery, which gives more credence to the seriousness of the show.

In my opinion this show could've been even more serious and objective. Using an app on your smartphone to hear ghosts speak, doesn't strike me as super logical. What ghost sensors did Samsung put in their phones? Underlying music and sound effects could've been used more sparingly as well, because sometimes its hard to tell if it is postulated paranormal captures or post-production added effects to add tension. And a more consistent objectivity would also suit the 3 guys who aren't psychic. As sometimes there is still the unwarranted conclusion that it must've been a ghost.

But to sum up. An interesting and a bit more serious addition to the whole "paranormal" "reality"-show trend. Definitely recommendable.

I actually created an imdb account just to get this out somewhere-
elysenaylorservices2 January 2020
I searched for a point of contact in some form for this show. I could not find one, not even a Twitter account. So, I created this account just so I could voice my opinion on this, because it is bothering me immensely for some reason. Most shows I care very little who's a good actor, who's more annoying, etc. I really wish I had somewhere to give my feedback on a couple of the show's people directly to the show's staff or something.

This show is entertaining enough. My issue is the host Kay and partially Ian Lawman. Between Ian's condescending, stuttering, and redundant "lessons" to everyone there constantly, to Kay's negative attitude and tendency to be extremely whiny, always wanting to have "nothing to do with" anything and then giving up early on, I'm wondering why at least Kay even chose to host a show such as this. I can get past Ian's talking down to people and having to know everything, but the further into the season I get, the more difficult it becomes to stomach Kay. Even with his pretty face (and he IS very attractive), it's not enough to come close to balancing it all out for me.

Whether real or fake, and aside from the questionable crew members, it's still entertaining to a degree and that's the only reason it got even the couple stars it did.

Bad bad bad
cbjami5 August 2022
These guys seem so bored there is no chemistry at all on this show and the "star" Kay seems like he's posing all the time to try to do headshots. The whole pace of the show is so boring, soft spoken like a bunch of guys talking in a hospital waiting room. It's easy to see why it only was made one season. It's a miracle it made it past one show.
